The Avera-Clark House is a must stay location when in Monticello. Brooke is an amazing host. The room was so comfortable and the home had such charm. Breakfast was homemade and we enjoyed it with the other family staying there too. We will definitely return.
What a lovely and welcoming B&B experience! The hostess was so sweet and helpful, providing little personal touches. The room was very nice and extremely comfortable
Beautiful home, gives you a nostalgic feeling as soon as you set foot inside this Victorian home. The owners are amazing and very accommodating. Definitely one of our favorite B&B, just a walking distance to shops and antique stores .
Wonderful ambience and location just a couple blocks from downtown. Large room and property grounds which is set up for events. They were setting up for one when we were leaving. Clean and bright. Good communication with owner and flexible to small extra needs.
Even though the watermelon festival was canceled, this young lady -Brooke made sure I still had a fantastic stay in Monticello. She served me a delicious quiche and fresh fruit for breakfast. Her recommendations for local eats was spot on. And she kept me informed of the few events that still happened over the weekend making my stay super fun.
I’ll be back next year and fingers crossed for a successful festival in ‘24.
Everything was as advertised. Quaint well-maintained more than a century old house. Scarlet Room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped. Private bathroom and shower were all perfect. Bed was very comfortable. Brooke is a great host, communicated well in advance, and prepared an awesome breakfast combination to cover my Vegan diet and my wife’s omnivore diet. Dinner at the Porch was very pleasant venue with excellent food and drinks. We’ll definitely stay again if we are ever in the area.
I was in town visiting a friend in Monticello and decided on Avera-Clarke House because it looked like the most authentic Victorian 1800 home. I was greeted by Brooke who is the owner and overall caretaker along with her husband. Brooke is charming, and exactly who you would envision running this beautiful home. As As I was Walking into the house I felt like I walked back into time, from the doorway to the gorgeous high ceilings, the beautiful period furniture and original artwork throughout the house. The incredible dining room, beautiful furniture chandeliers it just took you back in time. I Up the beautiful stairway my room was the scarlet room is the largest room in the home with a bathroom attached it is exactly as it is pictured and described. This room had a gorgeous bed, high ceilings, beautiful view of the backyard where the weddings take place, beautiful lighting in the backyard. Very comfortable bed, gorgeous floors just overall very comfortable, in the mornings I always had an amazing breakfast prepared by Brooke. Coffee was always available downstairs. If you’re in Monticello and you’re thinking about booking at this bed-and-breakfast I would not pass it up. It has so much history. It’s just a beautiful home it’s walking distance to the beautiful little town. Brooke was a Gem!!
