About the host
Hosted by Scott C Burleigh
From Karolyn and Scott – hi! We’re very glad you’re here. We love this part of Maine, and Swan Pond especially, and we hope you’ll enjoy it too.
It had been at the back of Scott’s mind for many years to have a second home here. He was born in Biddeford and, while he grew up mostly in upstate New York, he and his parents and brothers came back to visit grandparents every Christmas and every summer. His great-grandmother had a camp on Swan Pond, a great uncle had camps on Kennebunk Pond, a great aunt had cottages at Goose Rocks Beach. This has always been the place to come back to.
So when the chance to put down some roots on Goodwin Lane came along, it was irresistible. Karolyn, who has in abundance the sense of style that Scott manifestly lacks, made it her mission to make the house and grounds as gracious and welcoming as the lake and the woods that surround them. We especially hope the youngest among us will take away many happy memories. Life is unpredictable but if all goes according to plan, this place will be here for guests, our friends, and our families for a long time.
