About this property

Studio with stunning views of Great Cruz Bay in beautiful Westin Resort St. John

St. John is the premier island in the Virgin Islands with 2/3 of it being a national park. It has more than a week's worth of incredibly beautiful, uncrowded and Internationally recognized sand beaches featuring aqua colored water at the base of lush and dramatic volcanic hills with sail boats and smaller islands providing an attractive element in or near the Bays while great snorkeling options abound and are reachable by boat or land.
The resort is almost always completely booked during the high season (especially studios and 1 bedrooms) and our studio is very much in the high season with occupancy from Feb 21 to March 21.
We are renting for the four weeks starting on 2/21, 2/28, 3/7 and 3/14. We are prepared to rent for longer periods and would consider shorter stays if complimentary to other stays (moderate additional cost to cover additional cleaning or other fees).
There are tennis courts with a pro instructor as an option, sandy beaches, numerous dining options from casual by the main pool and on the beach to casual by the marina (great sunset dining) to very upscale and happy hour options, frequent jitney options to explore the incredible beaches and historic plantations on island and a number of ferry options for visiting other islands in both the USVI and the BVIs (British Virgin Islands), plentiful restaurants in Cruz Bay and Coral Bay as well as night life facilities offer numerous options away from the resort. The resort has a very well run Spa and a full aerobic gym with a separate weight room both with ample and sophisticated equipment and of course showers, saunas and massage options.
The resort features numerous on water options including paddle boards, sail boat and power boat cruising, snorkeling and scuba excursions, evening cruises, deep water sports fishing (marlin, dorado, tuna) and more.
Our studio has very ample space and is well equipped with a full kitchen with all items needed to cook and dine at home, a spacious living room with everything you need to entertain or be entertained with a 32" LCD TV, Bose entertainment system, a DVD player and High Speed Internet Access included (free). The Living Room and deck have dramatic day-time and sunset views of Great Cruz Bay (breakfast on the deck and perhaps a sunset drink as well), the dining area has seating for four, a king size bed is nicely set in a raised semi-private area plus there is a queen sofa bed for 2, the bathroom has a shower/bath, there is ample storage and a full size washer drier as well as iron and iron board. In essence all you will need for comfortable living. All linens, towels etc. are provided and changed twice a week so all you have to bring is yourself, your clothes and your desire to enjoy.
There is a relatively private pool (about 20 apartments) just a few steps from our studio with meticulously maintained grills as well and an enormous resort style pool with bar, dining and masseuse options located a few steps from the beach. There are numerous incredible hiking options of varying distances (accessible via jitney) many to or along secluded sandy beaches and historic plantation ruins frequently including forested hill sections with panoramic views along the trail.
The resort caters to children both formally for younger children with its Westin Kids Club and informally with a playground and various activities at the main resort pool area designed to keep children of all ages intrigued. However these activities do not in any way impact the adult nature of the resort.
Jeeps can be conveniently rented for the day on-site though most guests just use the very convenient Jitneys for their excursions. There is also a market just steps outside the resort enabling convenient food shopping and dining at home.
In summary, the almost continuous full booking provides testament to the popularity of this resort and the quality of the experience.

Beautiful island, nice resort!

Beautiful property. The condo was a perfect size for my husband and me. Although we often had a bit of a walk between our condo and the resort’s main pool, beach, and taxi stand, we found that the Westin’s staff were very accommodating and that we could hitch a quick ride in a large golf cart when needed. Hal, our host, provided many recommendations for exploring the island and readily answered all of my questions. Getting around the island was easy once we were familiar with the taxi service and island layout. Late in the week we rented a car onsite and enjoyed a day navigating the entire island. (Some of the roads were crazy steep!) If there was one negative, it would be that I wasn’t aware prior to our trip that Westin charged a daily resort fee ($25) until we arrived and checked in. All in all, the weather, beaches, accommodations, friendly resort staff, and our host made for a very pleasant vacation.
