The house is very clean, bright and spacious. The kitchen is well equipped. The location was perfect for us. The upstairs bathroom is amazing! I would stay here again.
The property was in excellent condition. We felt very at home here! It's easy to get to and not far from downtown Des Moines. We would definetely stay here again.
Scott was an amazing host. The listing was very accurate and the place is very clean, in a nice neighborhood, and very very roomy. Although we only stayed for 1 night, I would have loved to enjoy the property for more. I would highly recommend Scott's home.
We were in Des Moines for an event at Drake University. The house is conveniently located, extremely clean and well-appointed, spacious, and comfortable! We had a lovely evening.
Clean and cozy. The house was centrally located in a nice neighborhood close to access in the heart of the city. I would go back to Des Moines just to stay in this house. The neighborhood is quiet. The backyard is peaceful. The city is beautiful. The beds were extremely comfortable. I have never stayed in a cleaner or more peaceful VRBO. The host was AMAZING! If VRBO used this property as a guideline for listings, it would be doing us all a great service.
We choose this property for a low key girls weekend and we were not disappointed! When we arrived at the property the host had turned on a couple lights and some music on in the home which was appreciated since it was dark outside. The house was very clean and the space was comfortable and gave plenty of room for us to spread out. The location on this property was perfect for us as it was right in the middle of everything we had planned to do. The kitchen had adequate items for us as we did some light cooking, the salt and pepper was appreciated. The added items like coffee, soap and shampoo was also a nice added touch. We thought it may be noisy so close to the airport but that was not an issue at all. We had good communication with the host prior to our arrival and using our phone number for the door code was also great- no more fumbling to find a code back to get into the house. We would not hesitate to book this property again in the future. Thank you for a nice stay!
My partner and I spent the weekend in Des Moines to celebrate our anniversary, and this property immediately stood out when we were searching for a place to stay. It’s a beautiful home with a spacious, comfortable kitchen and plenty of living space throughout. The main bathroom is impressively large—almost the size of a living room!I especially appreciated the wrap-around driveway, which made coming and going very convenient, particularly for shorter stays. The large, fenced-in backyard would be perfect for families with children to play safely. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, with minimal traffic and only a bit of background noise from the nearby airport. The home was spotless upon arrival, and we were pleasantly surprised to find music playing on the TV to welcome us.Check-in and check-out were both incredibly smooth and straightforward. I highly recommend this property—whether you’re staying for a night or an extended visit, it’s a wonderful place to relax and feel at home.
We came to Des Moines for a concert. Was so nice to drive a few minutes to a nice clean, quiet, spacious house to relax and spend the night. We would stay here again.
Scott was an amazing host. Perfect location, perfect setup for a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

About the host

Hi, I have lived in the Des Moines area for over 18 years. I moved here from Santa Fe, NM. in 2004 and I can still remember how truly cold this place is. But I acclimated to the weather and love the four seasons here. I have three adult kids that also like in the area.
Why they chose this property
This property started out as a potential flip but as i continued to work on it, my thoughts turned to trying a short-term rental property. We have had a lot of fun furnishing and decorating this property. It has been completely remodeled from top to bottom.
