This place has lots of room, decks to sit on and is next door to a great bakery. My only complaint is with four adults needing to be up and out in the morning, one bathroom wasn't enough.

The wilderness retreat is fantastic!! comfy beds, large bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, and cozy living area. The place was very clean too. We came in to visit family and we were able to accommodate family dinners. The staff are so kind and eager to help in any way. Absolutely loved my stay and will be returning!!

Great place in Marceline

This is great place to stay while visiting Marceline and surrounding areas. Clean and well maintained pets welcome and they have a great deck and fenced in backyard for the dog to run around in. Staff is friendly and very responsive. We'll definitely stay again when we're in the area.

Room itself was great. Fun theming and a good size for my family. It listed a washer and dryer and that is not accurate. Communication was non existent online. I had to call and they were very confused. Overall good though.

Railfan Paradise

We had a great time staying on this property. The host was very responsive and the accommodations were great. Our 16 year old is a train enthusiast and this area of Missouri is perfect for Railfans. NS, BNSF, CP, UP and Amtrack all run within 100 miles of Marceline. Of course, this town is also the childhood home of Walt Disney who had a life-long love of the rails. Whatever brings you to Marceline, you'll enjoy your stay in this roomy and comfortable VRBO.

Not as advertised

Place was not ready at check in time not enough staff to maintain site. Friendly and helpful desk clerk. Room was described as 3 bedrooms there are only two. My daughter slept on a worn leather couch instead of the other missing bed room. Stated 2 bathroom there is only one. Stayed indoor and outdoor heated pool and hot tub didn’t have any of the items listed. Mouse turds in cabinets dishwasher not attached to wall and dirty dishes from the last guests were inside it. Deck and balcony had large pieces of paint peeling off the floor and was not swept clean off sept cushions were in need of replacing and dirty. Stovetop was clean but oven needed cleaned. Refrigerator could have been wiped down inside. Mud on the stairs inside the “just cleaned” apartment. An attempt at getting the place ready for new guests was made by a clearly and apologetically overwhelmed desk clerk. No one to talk to the next morning at checkout about issues that need attention, just a slotted mailbox on the building to put your keys in. Even with all the issues the grandkids enjoyed the space and privacy of a large bedroom for all of them. This very old motel can really be a showplace with a little more elbow grease,creativity and an accurate description of rooms and amenities.
