Coyote Country Red Cabin 1BR/1BA on a tall hill - Setup for Hunters and Hunting
Red cabin on top of a hill far from any real activity in northwest Richland Springs. It is a quiet place with not too much light pollution. The real benefit to this location is that it is in the heart of hunting ranch area and you can save easily 2 hours a day using this cabin versus hotels in bigger town.
This is a 13x20 foot (interior dimension) cabin divided into three rooms: bedroom, great-ish room :-) and bathroom. It is well insulated, quality flooring and neat looking beadboard. We left it rustic looking - opting to not paint anything.
This cabin is configured for hunters for the fall deer hunting season, it has a queen bed in the bedroom and a twin-xl in the great room. The bathroom has a door, full-size commode, and a nice sized shower. Hot water is provided by on-demand water heater.
AC is provided by a 120V mini-split which will keep the cabin cool. Heat is provided by a heat pump, so if it gets REALLY cold we have a 500W space heater which should work for emergency heat.
We focus on cleanliness and comfort - so you won’t find many decorations. What you will find is memory foam mattresses that are pretty new, comfortable clean bedding, and clean linens.
In the morning we have a nicely stocked coffee bar with coffee, tea, some flavored drinks and a tankless (for cleanliness) Keurig coffee brewer. It is fast, generally about 3 minutes to heaven.
The floors are vinyl laminate because we think carpets and rugs are pretty yukky. We’ll have none of that.
We do have a TCL Roku TV in the great-ish room which you can see from the bedroom. So everyone can watch TV if you want.
The entry lock is electronic and you’ll get the keycode just before check-in. It will be the last 4 digits of your phone number you provide to VRBO.

We live nearby the cabins. We gentrified this lot by recapturing the lot from a drug den, tore down the house, and built the cabins. We did this because we wanted to be a service to the community. We are pretty hands off, but if you want to meet for coffee that would be fine. We're older and the cabins are not too hard for old people like us to clean and get ready for the next guests.
Why they chose this property
The best part about the location of the cabins is that they are on a hill, they have city utilities, but the hill is quiet, always has a breeze and you can almost always catch a sunset. Very little traffic or noise. Also we have Axis deer walk through the lawn every night.
What makes this property unique
This property is unique as there are nearly ZERO 1BR/1BA in the area that would work for hunters or other groups that require two beds. This is more like a hotel room than a big house and it is a hotel room that doesn't share walls! The nearest hotels are in larger cities, the closest of which is about 40 miles away. Staying here lets you hunt longer, do business longer, stay off the road longer... you get my drift. The other item I would point out is we really strive to keep clean - no frillys, no rugs, no carpets and no curtains (except on front door) to accumulate dirt.
