Are you looking for a spacious home with upscale decor for your accommodations?
We offer the 'Retreat House' more value in this 5 bedroom, 5 1/2 bath.(6 Beds) and (1 Sofa sleeper) Pool table, ping-pong and poker tables. This 3054 sq. ft. distinctive custom home is situated on a heavily treed hillside with rock outcropping offering valued privacy. 4' wide concrete ramp accessible entry for elderly/wheelchair. As one enters the interior the stunning great room welcomes you with seating around a wood burning fireplace with an over sized Dubuque stone hearth. A dining room(seating for 11) and open kitchen are on the right.

Completing the main level is the convenient laundry room, powder room, and master suite, which has a large soaking 2 person jetted tub, and separate shower. The great room has large comfortable sofa.

Take in the countryside vistas through the floor to ceiling windows along the back of the home. A sliding door opens to the furnished outside dining area (seating for 6) on the upper deck with a 52' gas grill. The furnished three season's outdoor room (seating for 8) offers fresh air, the soothing sounds of nature, and a favorite quiet gathering place to socialize. The upper level of the home has 3 bedrooms with 3 baths and TVs in all bedrooms.

Walk into the lower level and you will find a pool/ping-pong table, a bar, private poker room (table with 4 chairs), entertainment room with TV, a sleeper sofa, a full bath, and one bedroom with two queen beds and TV. One of the highlights of the lower level are the amazing views and easy access to the outside hot tub. The outside deck is furnished(2)tables and(8)chairs. Take the steps down to the exterior fire pit with additional seating. Enjoy this exclusive location, convenient to all the shopping, dining, and activities in 'The Galena Territory' and surrounding areas. The Retreat House is located 7miles east of Galena and 1/2 mile into the Galena Territory Association.

Beautiful and immaculate!!!

Quiet and peaceful, the property is beautiful. We LOVED the private trail around the lower end of the property into the Forrest area. The house far exceeded our expectations for our family of 10 gathering. Owners have done an AMAZING job decorating and keeping everything immaculate. The screen porch and pool table were a big hit. So much attention to detail, down to having EVERYTHING you could need in the kitchen, pleasantly surprised to have the coffee/tea station set up, and Ice already made in the freezer, plenty of fire wood provided. More than enough towels, even had extra hanging close to the hot tub, pillows extra blankets. We have stayed in rentals before and by far this would for sure be a house we would return to and recommend to others. Owners were wonderful to communicate and book with. Amazing home!!!!!!!!

Home very clean. Kitchen well-stocked with cooking utensils & table service. Great grill & hot tub.

Our group of five adults chose this vacation property for a relaxing weekend. We used 3 of the 5 bedrooms. Each had a bath and cable TV. The wooded lot offers privacy when sitting outside or taking advantage of the screened-in 3-season room that seats eight very comfortably on the large main floor deck for dining or conversation. A huge gas grill on the main floor deck can easily accommodate all the food grilled for a group of 10. The lower level features a pool table & card table, and outside on the lower level is the large well-maintained hot tub. We chose this property because the master bedroom is on the main floor and the home features stepless entry and a sufficiently wide front door to allow one person in our party to use a wheelchair & walker inside the home and on the deck on the main floor. The master bedroom doesn't have a roll-in shower, but does have a low-step in (about 5") shower. The home's floor plan is very conducive to having a personal or business retreat with plenty of personal space to relax. WiFi in the home. The only owner assistance we required was getting the code lock on the front door to function when we first arrived and getting the grill's electronic ignition to turn on (the battery had to be replaced), but both items were immediately addressed by the owner within a half hour of our call for assistance. We would definitely enjoy a return visit and would recommend this vacation property.

Beautiful home and family friendly

My family and I just returned from a weekend at this home in Galena. It was wonderfully equipped with all of the amenities we needed. Very nice kitchen, beautiful bedrooms and our favorite was the amazing screened-in porch. Seating was more than we needed.

Great for large family get together!

I booked this house for our annual family vacation. It was awesome, everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom. We enjoyed the hot tub, pool/ ping pong table and deck. It was nice being close to downtown Galena but still feeling like we were in the woods. This house is well stocked which was awesome as we ate at the house quite a bit. We would definitely stay here again.

Relax and Chill

This was a wonderful and spacious home that met all of our needs. We enjoyed the the game room on the lower level and were most pleased with the kitchen and ever thing one needed to make a cook a meal. We have stayed at Eagle Ridge Territory for the past 15 years in different homes. This one was by far the a best one we stayed in. We would definitely use it again Thank your Bill and Susan.

Overall house and property were beautiful!

Great family fun

Our stay at the Retreat House was awesome! The home was immaculate and very well stocked. Every kitchen utensil you could want. The house is very spacious and well equipped. Enjoyed skiing at Chestnut Mountain and the town of Galena is charming. This house turned out to be a gem! We'll be back!

Galena Retreat House Getaway

We were very fortunate to have rented the Retreat House for a weekend gathering. Twelve of us fit into the house very comfortably with much space to spread out. The house is has comfortable beds and pillows and a fully stocked kitchen with every utensil you could think of. Bill and Sue are very accommodating and very easy to reach. I couldn't recommend a better home to stay in for a trip to Galena.

Family Getaway in Galena Territory!!

Oh my! We were truly fortunate to be able to rent the Retreat House. The pictures do not do justice to how beautiful the house is and how great the setting is. We were with our children and grandchildren (various ages!). All of us loved this house immensely. The beds were very comfy, the master bath was amazing, loved the hot tub and the fire pit. Everything about this house is top-notch! The kitchen was completely stocked with anything and everything you would need and everything had a place, and the bathrooms and bedrooms too! This home is spotless!! Different levels for gathering, and the bedrooms have their own bathrooms. We had space and also such a comfy feeling when we were all together, which was a lot!! One morning the guys went golfing and us gals went downtown and then all met up later . Yes, the location of this home is equally amazing. One night we had an awesome ping pong madness competition. We laughed so much. Missing it already. Owner communication was quick and reliable. Thank you Bill & Sue for being so very helpful and nice! Would definitely stay here again as we have made fun, loving, and beautiful memories. :)

GREAT STAY!!

We had a girls weekend at the Retreat House and it was a blast... The home has everything you might need for your stay, kitchen well supplied, linen/bedding excellent.. We would stay here again in a heart beat!! Bill & Sue were wonderful to work with in making our plans..

Perfect home for a retreat getaway or girls weekend

This house was amazing. It was the perfect setting and set up for our retreat!!!! Everything was well equipped and very spacious. Perfect Large Home for a Reunion

This house was PERFECT for our sibling reunion! We were very impressed with the well equipped kitchen, all the extra linens, the entertainment for the kids (pool, ping pong, card table etc), and the size of the grill! The house has an open floor plan which was great to keep an eye on all the children and lots of areas to hang together. The house was very clean and comfortable. The location of the house was also very easy to get to (very close to The General golf course). Bill and Sue, the owners, always communicated promptly. I am so glad I found this house and that it was available for our dates. We certainly hope to come back to Galena...and to this house!

Stunning Large Family Retreat House

House exceeded all expectations--spacious and well laid out, with lots of different "gathering spaces" for our family, which had traveled here to be together for a wedding in Galena. The kitchen is well equipped, the linens and other furnishings are top notch, beds were extremely comfortable, everything was spotless and well cared for, and the views and privacy were lovely. We were also impressed that the soundproofing in each room is so good--the younger members of the family could be playing ping pong right outside your bedrooms and you could not hear a thing! Could not recommend this home more highly!!

Wonderful Family Home

My family and I have returned from a wonderful vacation at this home. Each bedroom is lovely, with its own ensuite, and appointed with beautiful linen. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you could possibly need. The home is spacious and is well appointed. We all enjoyed using the owners club gym and pools. The owners club is much nicer than the facilities at the resort. The owners, Bill and Sue, are helpful and easily available. We look forward to staying in this home again.

Retreat House

An excellent getaway weekend for 5 couples. The house and all its amenities exceeded all expectations. We were in Galena for a wedding and our only regret as that we didn't take advantage of the oversized hot tub. Two minor problems for techno challenged seniors were handled immediately. (Trouble with the entry code and a problem getting the tv to work were 2 phone calls answered by the owners who arrived within minutes to help us.) We loved the large screened in porch, comfy beds, and a supply of games in the downstairs card room. I would highly recommend the Retreat House as a great vacation rental.

Group of ten loved the Retreat House

Our group of 5 couples (aged 50 and over) loved spending Memorial Day weekend at the Retreat House. The house was very clean and so comfortable. We cooked each breakfast and supper at the House and found the kitchen to be so well equipped with utensils, pots, tableware, etc. Our group's favorite place at the House was the large screened in room. All ten could sit around the table there to eat and play cards. There is only one bedroom on the main floor, so others will need to be prepared to have quite a few steps to go to the three bedrooms upstairs or the one in the basement. We enjoyed shopping in Galena, visiting the Rocky Waters Winery and the Fergedaboudit Winery and the Blaum Bros. Distillery. After all of these adventures, we really enjoyed the relaxing amenities of the Retreat House.

a lovely house for a friends-cation

my friends and i come every year to spend a long weekend together, and this house is ideal. tons of bedrooms, everything is cozy, fireplace, hot tub, pool table, kitchen that accommodates us cooking multiple meals a day for 11 people, location is easy to find, beautiful natural surroundings - what else can i say? it's just terrific. the owners are also very attentive to detail, down to calling us when it snows to check on us and advise about road conditions and plowing. it's a wonderful place.

Great getaway

We rent this house every year with a bunch of friends and find it so cozy we hardly ever leave. We gather around the fireplace, which we keep going all weekend, to read and play games, only taking occasional breaks to jump in the outdoor hot tub, which is surrounded by a lovely woodland view. The house is always clean, the beds are always cozy, and the kitchen amply stocked with tools for all the cooking we do. Thanks!

Family Gathering

This is our 3rd year staying at the Retreat House. It is a great house with tons of amenities. This year we held our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas joint holiday party with the family and we were treated to a wonderful snowfall on Friday night. The views were great and we all had a great time. If you get a chance to rent this house, please do. The owners are very responsive and great to work with. We will be back next year!

beautiful and very clean

Our group of six women thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Retreat House. I have rented many homes and have never seen a home that was as spotlessly clean as this one. The kitchen was very well-stocked with all kinds of pots and pans and bowls. All of the kitchen equipment was in good condition and very clean, unlike most rental houses where the pans are burned and scratched. The beds were very comfy with high-quality linens, and there were plenty of clean towels. The home is lovely, on a quiet side street not far from the main entrance to Eagle Ridge, so that you don't have to drive very far into the resort. There are neighbors close by, but separated by trees, so it feels very private. We didn't make use of the game room, but it's a very nice large space with ping pong table, and leads out to a large hot tub. We all liked this home, and would stay there again.
