As a long-time Premier Host, I always welcome feedback from guests, before, during and after their stay. However, now two weeks after your stay (and after your security deposit hold was conveniently released), this is the only time I have heard from you. This means, you did not follow VRBO instructions for making hosts aware of concerns during your stay. This also puts you in violation of your renter agreement with me, which states “I acknowledge receipt of the property in good order and condition (if found otherwise per my arrival I will contact Owner immediately)." I texted you the door code on 07/19/25 at 2:53PM. That same personal phone number of mine is posted in at least two places in the house, so there’s no reason you couldn’t communicate with me. VRBO Instructions: First, contact the host to make them aware of your concerns. Complaints can be immediately resolved if the host is aware of the issue. – YOU DIDN’T DO THIS Also, report the issue to us within 24 hours from check-in so we're aware. – YOU DIDN’T DO THIS Write a review. Reviews are visible to other guests, provide helpful feedback on a property, and give hosts the chance to respond. Reviews are particularly helpful for complaints about poor conditions or other mismatches between the property description and experience. – THIS UNFAVORABLE REVIEW IS THE ONLY COMMUNICATION I HAVE EVER RECEIVED FROM YOU If you are unable to reach the host during your stay, select Contact Us to contact Customer Support. – YOU DIDN’T DO THIS Now, a full two weeks later, you jumped straight to an unfavorable online review. That is absolutely unacceptable and unfair to a homeowner, or any business owner, for that matter. The guest immediately prior to you reported an amazing stay, and cleaners reported zero damage to the house before your check-in. The cleaners did, however, report issues the day of YOUR checkout. My family and I also happened to be the guests staying immediately after you. Yes, I arrived to find standing water in the portable dishwasher, because it was pushed too far up against the wall, which kinked the drain hose. Had you contacted me during your stay, I would have advised you how to easily fix it, by simply pulling it out a few inches from the wall. Yes, I had to have a contractor replace flooring damaged during your stay. I can only assume this is due to your misuse of the dishwasher, that you just reported via this review. Yes, I did have to have new golf cart batteries installed. An issue I could have easily resolved for you, same day, during your stay, as I did during mine. Yes, during the week you stayed, there was a full week of extreme heat advisories, with high heat index in Myrtle Beach. The difference in a cool house and hot exterior warped some paneling in our home (and that of several other Ocean Lakes homeowners I know as well). It looks silly, but didn’t impact our stay, and has not impacted the stay of any guests since you, all of which are being notified of the warped paneling, in advance. Had I been notified by you of damage occurring during your stay, as you were obligated to do, I probably could have proactively mitigated potential damage. Replacing paneling will have to be an off-season project. Your failure to follow VRBO and renter agreement instructions not only apparently cost you a pleasurable stay, but also cost me damage to my home. I hope you will keep this in mind and follow proper guest procedures in the future, instead of immaturely choosing to be a keyboard warrior after the fact. - Ginny
