Relaxing, quissential Vermont lakeside home with view of Little Lake, part of Lake St. Catherine (20 minutes North of Manchester) and 5 minutes from Granville for everyday shopping. 10 minute walk to the town of Wells and the Wells Country Store. 7 minutes from Lake St. Catherine State Park and 15 minutes to the Dorset Marble Quarry for Swimming. Close to the D&H Rail Trail for biking or hiking.
Home comfortably accommodates 8 people and features a large, furnished screened-in porch, a wood burning stove, 2 televisions with wireless service, dishwasher, ping pong table and magnetic dartboard in basement.
There is a lovely view of Little Lake from the porch and the bedroom windows facing the back of the house. Amenities include a grill, fire pit, kayaks and a ping pong table.
Enjoy kayaking, swimming in Lake St Catherine State Park, biking in the summer and foliage, hiking, and apple picking in the Fall. In the Winter, our home is 45 minutes to Bromley, Stratton, and Killington and cross country/Nordic skiing and snowshoeing at Wild Wings.

This was a beautiful place with all the comforts of home. We had family stop by and everyone commented on how nice of a place. We had an ease of contact with the host and she even made suggestions of area attractions. Our questions were answered and any concerns were handle promptly. I would recommend staying in this beautiful lake view location.

My husband, son, mother, and I stayed at Lauri and Bill's lake house while visiting family in Vermont that also have a camp on Lake Saint Catherine. The accommodations were better than expected. The beds were comfortable, and each room is equipped with an A/C Unit for perfect temperature control during the warmer summer months. We enjoyed kayaking on Little Lake (especially during sunset/golden hour), and even kayaked and SUP'ed all the way to my family's camp on the larger part of Lake Saint Catherine. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the lovely screened in porch during the evening and nighttime hours, and were lucky enough to catch the moon rise over the mountains directly across from the property each night. The kitchen is stocked better than any other rental I've stayed in. To top it off, Lauri and Bill were perfectly communicative. I will absolutely be visiting this Lake House again if it remains available.

Spotless and well appointed home. The kitchen was very well equipped. Comfortable beds. We spent most of our time relaxing on the large screen porch. The owners were very responsive when we had concerns or questions.

Family weekend at the lake

We have been visiting the area for years and were so happy to find this beautiful, clean and well appointed rental near where the rest of our family stays! The house has a wonderful screened in porch where we enjoyed our coffee and the views. We did some cooking in the kitchen and found everything we needed! Loved our stay in VT and would stay again. Thank you.

Nice stay

We had a nice stay here. The owners were very kind and helpful. The house was very well equipped and everything worked perfectly, including the window air conditioners. We enjoyed walking into town and loved the screened in porch. The house has a nice view of the lake with pretty sunsets. The lake was disappointing as it is unswimmable due to numerous plants and its shallowness. This was not clear in the description or the comments about the house and there are no places to access the lake, even to put your feet in, except a rickety dock.

Hi Sharon, Thanks for your review. We did address the fire alarms. it turns out that if one goes bad, they all go bad bc they are hard wired. Out of caution, we had our property manager replace them all. BTW the aluminum dock is brand new. We will revise the description re: the lake. That is why we provide a complementary pass to the state park down the road, so people can go swimming.

One of the few properties where they had everything we needed to cook meals and did not require going out to a supermarket to buy missing things. We really enjoyed our stay here. The property was clean and comfortable.

Why they chose this property

We enjoy our Vermont property year around to relax and unwind. Before buying our home, we did vacation rentals in the Vermont and the Washington County NY area and have formed a lot of memories as a result. We particularly love the view of the lake and the stars at night and the landscape of Vermont is fabulous.

What makes this property unique

Our home has a view of the lake and a private dock for kayaking or relaxing. There is a lovely landscaped garden in front that blooms in early summer. There are two screened in porches and the view of the stars is incredible. Wells is close to Granville for shopping or you can walk to the town of Wells to the Country store for breakfast. Manchester, VT is a 20 minute drive and Glens Falls and Saratoga Springs NY are about 40 minutes. If you like to ski, Stratton, Bromley and Killington are about 45 minutes from our location.
