Host never booked the property. Then 3 days before said that she could not accommodate us. Then tried to make me cancel the reservation on my side. Refused to cancel even though it was here issue. VRBO said they could not do anything until day of the reservation even though they could see the communication that the host was not able to accommodate. All in all a very stressful situation. I will likely not use VRBO again due to the way they handled the situation and that host is posting listings that don't really exist. I eneded up booking the hotel myself through marriott directly. I had to spend hours of my vacation trying to coordinate this and added a lot of stress to what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation.
BUYER BEWARE!!! Do NOT rent from this host unless you want to arrive at your destination with your entire family only to be told that, even though you booked this a year ago and confirmed the reservation twice with the host, the property has no record of your reservation. And if you are really lucky, you will spend the next 8 hours of your life frantically trying to find a place to stay for your family’s week long holiday vacation.
And when you try to contact the host as the man behind the property reservation desk subtly hints that it might not be her first time, you will just get a voicemail of a man speaking Spanish. No one will call you back or text you, so you will stand there totally embarrassed and reach out to Vrbo for help. Eventually you will get an email from her apologizing that …oops… there was a “software glitch” and that we can just contact Vrbo for other places to stay.
This woman should not be allowed to be on this site as she is doing it a major disservice. During the year, after having already booked with her, I saw another review like this and prayed it wouldn’t happen twice. But it did and clearly she learned nothing from it.
To Vrbo’s credit, they were very helpful in attempting to right her wrong. We thank them for the help they were able to give, but this left us in a major bind until the 11th hour when we finally found a comparable accommodation on the busiest week of the year.
