Enjoy!
The Space: Our newly-renovated cabin has all the comforts from home, just nestled away in the WV mountains surrounded by old-growth forest bustling with wildlife. Mountain Laurel is fun for couples, families, or groups of friends -- and is the perfect home base for your getaway!
The cabin includes: - Two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and another with a queen bed + twin bunk above - A spacious, wraparound deck & grill for relaxing with the whole group - Large and brand new hot tub right on the deck, steps from the screen door! Perfect for relaxing and watching the sunset or stars at night - Fast, reliable WiFi that’s more than enough to stream movies and hold video calls - Fully-stocked kitchen with a stove/oven, microwave, and dishwasher - Wood burning fireplace to curl up next to and get cozy at night - Open main room with plenty of natural light and new wood floors - Outdoor fire pit to wind down the evening with s’mores! - An outdoor yard game treasure box full of activities for kids and adults: corn hole, volleyball, soccer and kick balls, horseshoes, and many more!
We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly! Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
Please note: Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
Directly behind the cabin is the Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area: nearly 23,000 acres of old growth forest that’s full of wildlife. You’ll wake up every morning to hear the birds chirping and chipmunks chattering away – and we often see deer, foxes, rabbits, turkeys, and even the occasional bear. If you’re looking to get out of the city and recharge in nature, this is the perfect place. (And the best part is you’re only 15 minutes from town!)
Beyond the cabin itself, the Hedgesville / Berkeley Springs area is great for so many reasons -- and Mountain Laurel is just a short drive to everything. The Woods is one of the top golf courses in the state, with a wonderful spa, hiking trails, and a restaurant/pub as well. And the town of Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US, with dozens of shops and restaurants, and even a brewery and winery!
You will be provided a copy of the Sleepy Hollow Lot Owners Association House Rules after confirming your reservation, and we will ask you to acknowledge receipt and acceptance of the House Rules.

Everything about our stay was great. The hot tub and fireplace made it a perfect cozy cold weather retreat and the cabin had everything we needed. I loved that you could not see any other houses from the living room or deck, just a beautiful view of the woods. Tony was excellent and super communicative. Would definitely stay there again!

Thanks again for staying with us. We’d love to welcome you back anytime. :)
As someone with back issues the hot tub was amazing! It was to temp and ready when we checked in. The property was very clean and super cozy. Perfect for just the two of us and i could see us bringing the kids next time and having enough room for all of us. The grill was clean and ready to go for our steaks. The kitchen had everything we needed to stay in and cook all weekend. We wanted for nothing. The guest book was a nice touch.

Great overall experience! Cabin was as expected and well stocked with towels, plates, pots and pans etc. Loved the hot tub and cabin was cozy and comfy!
WE took our two teenage sons just for long weekend - time to unplug and relax with no distractions! This cabin was PERFECT! Just big enough for the 4 of us and our dog, but had everything we could need. Clean and well appointed. Tony was very attentive and communicative! Will definitely be coming back!

We truly enjoyed our stay! Perfect size with all the essentials. Super thankful we could being our dogs along, and we enjoyed the privacy of the lot. The grill & hot tub were amazing, and loved that we could hear the stream from the deck. The house felt super clean and fresh. Host was the best we’ve had, great communication, and super responsive. We will definitely be back!
This place was clean and very nice. The deck and hot tub were great. The bed was not to my liking but everyone is has different tastes. The bathroom is small as is the shower. The shower drain is not attached down if you step on it, it will come loose and fly off. The light over the table has a light bulb missing. The lights over the sink each globe has 3/4 of inch of dead bugs in them. The 2 big windows across from the doors could use some curtains or something to block the neighbors view of you walking around. The towels were a nice and the kitchen is very functional. This was a good place to stay for a few days but I wouldn't make it a for a week. Great views and very quiet place. The host was great and stayed in touch through out the stay. Listing was acurate and we had a good stay.

Before our trip, the host informed us we would be moved to a different chalet due to maintenance. We appreciated an early checkin since we arrived early. Unfortunately, the replacement unit was not in the condition or quality of the one we originally booked.Upon arrival, we noticed buckling flooring, a soft spot in the floor, and a sliding glass entry door that was extremely difficult to lock and did not feel secure (an issue mentioned in other reviews). The chalet was not properly cleaned—dust and dirt visible throughout, hair on the bedspread, dust under the bed, and unidentified red splatter marks on the living room wall. The bathroom had a broken toilet paper holder, dirt on the baseboard, caulk missing around the shower/tub. Multiple scented plug-ins also triggered allergy symptoms. The host was responsive and refunded the cleaning fee, which we appreciated, but the overall condition did not justify the nightly rate. We shared photos and hope improvements are made.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Mountain Laurel in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
