About this property
The Blue Ruby - nestled in Point Defiance
We are thrilled to offer our vacation home from our family to yours.
This Townhome is in a great location, easy to find and close to all the amenities in Point Defiance and Ruston.
With 2 king bedrooms and a spacious bunk room, premium natural gas grill and hot tub, 2 smart TVs, work from home spaces, and beautiful views of the Puget Sound — this place has it all!
The space
Spend your evenings cooking and dining in our open concept kitchen and living area. The kitchen is fully stocked for all of your needs, and has been described as “lavish” by guests. We have a 55” smart TV and fireplace with easy on/off switch in the living room for cozy raining PNW evenings, or soak in the hot tub in the back yard while grilling on the Weber grill with natural gas line. Our master bathroom also boasts a deep soaking tub with water views.
In the mornings sip your coffee on the second story porch watching the Puget Sound. It’s a great spot for sunset views as well.
We have two king rooms and a bunk room with a twin over full configuration, making it a winner for couples traveling together, families or solo travelers alike.
The space also offers covered off street parking in the garage and ample street parking.
Neighborhood:
Point Ruston, Point Defiance Park and the Zoo / Aquarium are all within walking distance (less than a mile). There is a co-op just down the street for groceries, or hit up the Point Ruston Farmer’s Market. In the summer Point Ruston hosts live concerts and has a water feature that our kids love to play in.
Takana Take-out and Antique Sandwich shops are perfect spots for a take away lunch to be enjoyed in the Point Defiance park or Point Ruston waterfront.
For coffee checkout Coffeezaun or Dancing Goats!
Parking:
The house is best accessed by car, though public transit is nearby. Ample parking for large parties with multiple cars. We provide off street garage parking for 1-2 vehicles as well.
walking distance to groceries, coffee shops, etc
walking distance (1mile) to Point Defiance Zoo and adventure park
walking distance (1mile) to Point Ruston
less than 9 mins to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge
less than 9 mins to 6th ave with plenty of bars and shops!
45 mins to SeaTac Airport
Other things to note:
While we love bringing our young daughters to this townhome, there are some things to be aware of before bringing your small children. We have a fireplace, hot tub, stairs and other features which are not child proofed. Let us know if you have any questions regarding kids or would like the child items put out (additional $30 cleaning fee to sanitize and store items between uses). Kid Gear must be requested at minimum 24 hours before check in. There is also a busy street (Pearl) next to the house, please do not let your young children play in the yard unattended.
Guest access
We are firm believers in king size beds, and have two of them available. The main bedroom features a king memory foam bed, walk in closet and private balcony with water views, en-suite bathroom and soaking tub.
The second king room has a mini en-suite with an in room sink and vanity, and large closet. The third bedroom or “bunk room” features a twin over full bunk, desk and another mini en-suite sink and vanity.
During your stay you have private access to the whole home and off street garage parking!
Other things to note
We love our location, which is a straight shot to Point Defiance Park and other attractions and easy to find from the freeway! However there is road noise from the nearby Pearl St.

About the host
Your host
Hi! We're Levi and Natalie. We have two daughters and two dogs. On weekends we love playing board games, taking walks to the beach or the nearby park with our family, and spending time in our backyard.
Why they chose this property
We love the point Ruston neighborhood. The proximity to the zoo and nearby parks; there are some great restaurants and shops, and we can walk to the water front. The home itself is a great respite from traveling too, with a fireplace and hot tub it makes the PNW winters cozy, and with a grill and soaking tub it provides a great space to land after long days hiking in the warm summers.
What makes this property unique
We love the king sized beds, the kids room, the shotgun style main floor that allows our family to both cook, eat and relax all together.
