Central Northside has an urban suburban mix feel filled with Pittsburgh history, and now it is one of the fastest growing areas in the 'Burgh. With the revitalization of the North Shore, the entire area is fast becoming a lively hub of activity. There are parks, museums, the National Aviary, breweries, and more all with easy access to downtown. According to the Northside Chronicle, Northside is one of the most historical districts in the city. Home to a free three day music festival that takes place in July and features hundreds of bands. The Allegheny Commons park is Pittsburgh's oldest park---- known for its mature canopy trees and lovely Lake Elizabeth, it is within walking distance from Loraine Street. Max's Tavern is an authentic German no frills restaurant with a great little bar and cozy booths. If you are looking for something a little more fancy, Fig and Ash on East Ohio street is the place to be. Delicious home-away-from-dishes led by one of Pittsburgh's top chefs. Siempre Algo also on East Ohio Street is a cozy romantic spot with vegetarian options and delicious desserts. However, please remember to make a reservation so you can enjoy these unique places. . Don't miss Yinz Coffee on East North avenue and Commonplace Coffee on Buena Vista right next to Randyland on Arch street. Randyland is a magical experience and not to be missed-- guarantee you have never been to a place like this before. 412 Apotheca on the corner of James and Suismon will delight your senses ---featuring a curated selection of bath, body & hair products as well as small gifts centered around self care. The Andy Warhol Museum, The Mattress factory, Children's Museum, Alphabet City, North Shore, Heinz Field and PNC park are all within walking distance. Downtown Pittsburgh is a 10 minute UBER drive, but is walkable when the weather is cooperating. What makes Northside so unique is it’s cultural diversity from starving artists to young professionals and neighbors that have lived and worked in Northside for decades—excitement is in the air in this thriving community.
Walking is the you best bet to get to many attractions but Lyft and Uber are always available. There is also Mobility hub on Western Avenue to rent e-scooters through the transit and spin apps.
➲You WILL see and hear the hospital’s Medevac helicopter taking off and landing occasionally.
➲You will be in the City with all it's wonderful glory and diversity. Some of the buildings are not in great shape but many are being renovated. North Side has been flourishing in the past several years as you can tell by the renovation taking place at the Garden Theater—originally built in 1915. There is constant revitalization taking place.
➲Please note while exploring the neighborhood, you may encounter some of our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness. We encourage guests to approach this with empathy and understanding. By choosing to stay in our rental you are directly contributing to the local economy and helping us create a more inclusive and compassionate neighborhood.
➲If you have more than 1 car we recommend you park in the hospital’s parking garage. The price is approximately $24.00 per day. If you decide to park on one of the side streets, you will need a parking pass to avoid getting ticketed.
➲The space you are renting is on the 1st floor with another suite directly above. This is a house with two apartments. You will be renting apartment #1.
