I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share this experience. On checkout day, I communicated at 10:45 AM that I was running slightly late. Despite this, the situation escalated far beyond what felt reasonable. During this time, the host questioned why a ladder she believed was hers was outside the property. The ladder was mine and was needed to access a car topper on my vehicle. The way this was raised made it seem like the host was aware of details on the property that had not been directly communicated, which was unsettling, as nothing like that was disclosed in the listing.By 11:22 AM, I was fully packed and in the process of leaving, shortly after the 11:00 AM checkout time. As I exited the back door after making sure everything inside was in order, I encountered a third party blocking my vehicle in the driveway and taking photos of my license plate. I was told I could not leave because law enforcement had been contacted. Police arrived less than ten minutes later. I was cooperative throughout and found the escalation unnecessary and distressing.I did not feel safe with how this was handled and would urge future guests, especially those traveling alone, to take this into consideration before booking.
