The Bryan House was a perfect location for our family trip. The home was very clean and had all of the supplies we needed, including linens and towels. The location is very close to the road but otherwise it’s nestled along a quiet spring which our kids loved exploring. The location is also very close to Raystown Resort where we kept our boat for the weekend and Shy Beaver boat launch making it very convenient. We will definitely consider a return trip.
This very clean, well appointed house was perfect for our girl’s week get together. Tammy is a fantastic host who is easy to contact and who gets back to you right away. The house has everything you need to have a great time in this beautiful little town, and is just a short trip away from shopping, restaurants, and entertainment in Altoona. Thanks for some great memories!
We had a great long weekend at the Bryan House and Raystown Lake! We had 2 familys (4 adults and 4 kids total) and the house had plenty of space for 8 people. The house was well stocked with a variety of kitchen appliances and linens. Even though the house is only partially air conditioned, the units are in the bedrooms to make sleeping comfortable and with the large shaded lot the rest of the house stayed comfortable even in the middle of July. Our kids loved the yard and checking out the stream. Tammy was extremely responsive and was great to work with every step of the process. We are already taking about our next trip to The Bryan House in the future!
Great home located close to everything we wanted to do at Raystown. This was perhaps the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed with so many little extras thrown in. Coffee, toiletries in case you forget something, laundry detergent and dryer sheets and so much more. There really was nothing we needed that we didn’t have. The traffic noise was a little downside for us but at the same time we appreciated not being out in the woods with no one else around. Vrbo was not a good experience for us. We couldn’t open messages from the house owner through them. We ended up calling Vrbo and they got us in touch with her directly but that was extra time and hassle. It all ended wonderfully and the owner was so pleasant to communicate with but I’ll never book through Vrbo again.

We are a family of five whose kids are getting older, and we wanted to find something to do with all of our "spare" time, so why not make a business out of making people's lives more fun! We work hard to make sure your vacation is everything you want it to be. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, or if there's any way we can make your vacation better!
Why they chose this property
This property has rich history. It was built in 1832 and was owned by the same family until recent years. It has beautiful scenery, including it's own little stream, and has lots of amenities, including a patio set, a grill, a firepit, and boat parking if asked for ahead of time. In short, we believe you will love this house just as much as we do! We also have a "things to do" book at the house, in case you are looking for adventure.
What makes this property unique
We are within a few miles of Shy Beaver boat launch, located in the quiet community of Cherrytown. We are across the street from a church, and have very few neighbors. Those we do have are very quiet. This is a peaceful place to rest and relax before heading to the lake, visiting with relatives, or exploring all that Central PA has to offer.
