About this property

This once-in-a-lifetime retreat offers unsurpassed views of the spectacular Mendocino coastline and iconic Buck Horn Cove. With over three acres, this property features a private peninsula where you can truly experience the power and beauty of the mighty Pacific. The main house includes three bedrooms, two downstairs, and a large primary suite on the second level with a private bath and balcony. There is also a private guest cottage that includes a freestanding gas fireplace and a private bath. The large deck has a sunken hot tub situated in the perfect location to relax and be mesmerized by the everchanging views. Because of the cliff-front location, there is a minimum age of 10 years and over required for any guests. Please note that the staircase at the top of the bluff is restricted, and no access is allowed.

Stunning location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Buckhorn Cove lived up to the pictures. The setting is stunning and the location convenient for day trips. One day we were surprised to see a sea otter wander across the front deck - atop the 50 foot cliff.The house is recently remodeled and well equipped. On arrival the place was spotless with all recently cleaned windows. The only personal difference we would note is that the mattress in the upstairs master bedroom is extremely soft with no box spring or solid surface above the bedframe bars. All in all, a memorable visit!

Reviewer Comments: I have stayed in many places in Mendocino over several decades, and this was one of the very best.There is an unobstructed 180 view from the West and South sides of the house of the ocean, In addition to the large Western/Southern deck there is a shady patio area on the East side of the house with a small garden area surround. Good laundry facilities. Comfortable beds. Large screen TV where you can log onto many streaming sites (Bring your passwords).The kitchen was equipped so well, it was hard to believe. EVERYTHING that one could want to cook a fairly complex meal (a Mandoline!!!!, salad spinner, sharp knives of every shape and size.....) If you have a chance to stay in this property--take it. You won't be disappointed.The house is a 10 minute drive South of the town of Mendocino.
