4200sq/ft 6 bedroom, 2 half baths, 2 spacious full baths and outdoor shower, contemporary Farmhouse. On 9 acres with walking trails and short walk to association beach, beach passes included. Located in the heart of Lakeside, Harbor Country. Perfect for family reu.


This is an owner managed property. July and August available for weekly rentals Sunday to Sunday only.. All other dates 3 day minimum. Open style vacation house. Living/dining, and gourmet kitchen with fully equipped, pantry, Garland 6 burner industrial stove .Loved by gourmet cooks and spacious for a large crowd. Table with seating for 12 and nearby kitchen island seating an additional 5.
BBQ on deck with outside dining. Perfect for entertaining, large and small gatherings. Separate comfy TV room, located in air conditioned bedroom wing. Screened in porch, hot tub, fenced in yard area for pets.

House sleeps 14, has 6 bedrooms total, Two very large bathrooms, two half baths, one enclosed private outdoor shower.

Bedrooms are divided this way... upper level 2 bedrooms, one queen the other king (this room has a small balcony), Large shared bathroom with large walk in shower. Both bed rooms are air-conditioned.

First floor bedroom wing has four bedrooms, One king bed, two queen beds and one with double bunkbeds. one very large bathroom with big walk in shower and an additional half bath, all bedrooms have their own door opening up to shared deck that has an enclosed outdoor shower, screened in porch and hot tub.

It is a really fun layout for a large group of people!

Association beach is a short 5-10 min walk to Lake Michigan and requires a gate pass. 2 gate passes included

Few items to take note:
Property is located over private railroad crossing, typically 2 Amtraks and a freight train or two will pass a day. Caution needs to be taken when crossing by looking both ways always.

There is central air in the bedroom wing and window units in the 2 bedrooms in main house. The living room and kitchen have no air conditioning. there are 3 ceiling fans and cross breeze screened doors to decks.

Kitchen is equipped with a Garland industrial stove, walk in pantry, lots of counter space, its a large fun kitchen to cook in.

Outside property has a fire pit, and 9 acres of trails to enjoy through the woods. Part of the front yard is fenced in for pets.

July and August are only available for full week rentals, Sunday to Sunday. 3 nights minimum any other dates.

House has heated floors for winter and fall retreats. Yoga retreats being offered several weekends through out

A wonderful time was had by all. A perfect and comfortable farmhouse, complete with chickens and eggs. Very spacious and comfortably decorated with various areas to be off by yourself should you choose. Wonderful kitchen. My family loves to cook and we had dinner in every night. The owners were a delight to work with. Highly recommended.

This house was incredible. It’s in a perfect location and the private beach access was a game changer. The property is beautiful and serene. The indoor/outdoor spaces are plentiful for large families including kids of all ages. The owners were amazing to work with and very accommodating. Beautiful Farmhouse Close to the Beach

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful farmhouse just walking distance to a beautiful private association beach. We enjoyed Fourth of July here with friends and everyone’s stay was comfortable. This home has many bedrooms, several bathrooms and a wonderful kitchen for cooking and gathering. Our kids enjoyed checking on the chickens, gathering eggs and feeding them every day. I have spent every Summer of my life in Michigan and I can truly attest this is a special property, kept with love and care by the owners who were also incredibly easy to work with, lovely and welcoming.

Beautiful home

Our extended family of 13 felt right at home in this spacious and comfortable home. Every bed was made for a great night’s sleep, the kitchen and dining room hosted all of our homemade meals, and we truly felt like guests in the home of a friend. We rented bikes and a Maui mat, walked to the beach every day and again in the evenings. From the youngest toddler to the oldest grandpa, each of us had a memorable family vacation!

Great family getaway

The house was very cool and plenty big for 10 adults and 4 kids. It was just a short walk to lake mi and had a huge property to hang out on as well. Would stay here again.

Beautiful Home in Lakeside

We loved our stay at this unique home in Lakeside. The house was great, plenty of room for our family, private setting with amazing outdoor areas to enjoy. The location was perfect, close to New Buffalo, Three Oaks, wineries and a short walk to the beach. The owners were helpful and had easy check in & out. Will definitely book again!

Wonderful vacation

Our group of 11 (adults and kids) had a great family vacation at this property. It was exceptionally well equipped with cooking supplies, towels, toys, and items for the beach. The layout of the house is perfect for a large group. We hope to return next summer!

Great Michigan Vacation June 2025

Review of Michigan Vacation June 2025Our stay at the “Farmhouse” was a real memory builder for us. My wife and I and two of our children’s families will always remember it. This was perhaps the first time we’ve stayed anywhere away from home where from the moment we walked in it felt like a real home, not a rental. There were ten of us, all adults with a variety of generations but here we were all able to enjoy the time at the house whether it was sitting alone or together, quiet or in conversation, on the back yard porch with the view of the woods, in the quiet screened-in room, hanging out in the spacious living area, the large kitchen, watching the chickens and eating the fresh eggs, going to the beach, enjoying breakfast at home or the nearby bakeries and restaurants. I especially enjoyed the openness of the surrounding woods and the occasional train, but this was a place everyone could relax, sleep well, and be comfortable with whatever they wished to do. Thank you Marjolein and Scott for sharing your home with us and giving us the time and the space to build some cherished memories with our family.

Amazing lake house!!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this property! It was gorgeous, spacious, and extremely well equipped! We loved all the common areas inside and outside! We had fun feeding the chickens and relaxing by the fire pit. The kitchen was so well stocked, and really fun to cook in with our friends! The walk to the lake was quick and easy and the beach was amazing!! We loved everything about this house and hope to come back again!!

Michigan 2024

We have vacationed with our family in this area for about 10 years. This house fits us best. It has great community space but also has nooks and cranies for quiet time. Our youngest was 3 years old and the oldest was 77 with several in between. We hope to come back!

Annual Labor Day Vacation

The house was beautiful and had plenty of room for all of us staying. It was close to New Buffalo, Three Oaks and Michigan City-all places we went to while there for the weekend. Marjolein was very easy to work with. We'll be back next year!

Wonderful house and location

The house was clean and spacious. It has everything you need for cooking, games and books for kids and adults, and access to the beach was just a 10 minute walk away. There was a wagon to use to bring stuff to the beach, and a lot of beach chairs to use. The fenced in area was great for the kids and our dog. The hiking trails were nice too. So much space for everyone and everything we needed. Totally recommend.

Beautiful home on beautiful property

We could not have had a better girls weekend than our stay this year at Majorlein's Orchard Beach Farmhouse. We have been going to this area of Michigan for 20+ years for our girls getaway and this was the best place we have stayed. Plenty of space, tastefully decorated, fabulous kitchen, gorgeous property with peak fall colors and trails for us to wonder through. Close to all the places we usually go to on our weekends. Already booked again for next year!

The perfect weekend getaway

I cannot say enough GREAT THINGS about our stay here!! The hosts were super accommodating and responsive for anything we needed! This house is one of a kind. You could easily spend an hour walking around the place looking at the amazing details. I wanted a weekend getaway to celebrate my birthday with friends and this was everything we wanted/needed and more. It was hard to leave this amazing place! Super close to the beach/Lake Michigan. Highly suggest booking here ☺️

Spacious, gracious, beautiful, comfy

This place is wonderful! It was perfect for our group, with big, airy central kitchen and dining areas, and lots of hidden living rooms with comfy furniture so people could get away to secluded areas for work or rest. The kitchen is well-appointed and well-designed for cooks. Bedrooms are quite spacious, with comfy beds. Set in a beautiful woodland, we felt surrounded by greenery and songbirds. The Lake Michigan beach is a short walk away. Outdoor spaces for humans and dogs are great.

Great house and grounds!

Perfect stay, but the great rooms and kitchen had no AC. The weather cooperated though, and the fans sufficed. Vrbo advertises 4.5 bathrooms, but we counted just 2 full and 2 half. Perhaps there were more in the basement? Private beach is only a 1/2 mile walk. The kids loved the chickens!

Great Little Getaway

Our group had an amazing time in the house; there was nothing we could have wanted that we didn't have! The kitchen is amazing, there is a ton of space to spread out and enjoy yourselves. We really appreciated the fenced in side yard for our small dog, and the owners were so gracious in letting us bring him. The walk to the beach is a tad farther than you think, but not too far at all. We look forward to staying again, and would love to spend time in this town in the summer! I bet it's bustling :)

Charming and eclectic and room to spread out

We are an extended family group of 6 adults and 4 children. The Orchard Beach House had something for everyone and lots of nooks and crannies to occupy for together and alone time. The furnishings and decorations are fascinating with lots of games and books to fill in the times between the beach, exploring the area and playing or relaxing in the yard. The grandkids loved the saucer swing in the side yard and we all loved the fire pit, watching the deer and the excitement of the trains. A good time was had by all.

Lovely home away from home!

The farmhouse is big enough for a large group yet cozy enough when our group dwindled to three. Every cooking utensil was there, no need to bring anything. The house has an eclectic fun style-- we loved the bowling alley countertops and the farmhouse chic decor. One word of warning, if you hope to do any work or hold meetings via Zoom, the wifi is weak and will not support consistently. We solved this by going into Starbucks in New Buffalo. All in all, a lovely stay!!

Family Vacation

For the last 10 years my husband, children, grandchildren, and a couple of friends have spent a week in the Lakeside and Union Pier MI area. As our numbers increased, our need for a larger house was necessary. The Orchard Beach Farmhouse was perfect! There were areas where we could all be together but also lots of nooks for private activities. The house is beautifully decorated with many details. The kitchen is well stocked. The beach is not far and there's a wagon to transport all the beach necessities. I would highly recommend this house for a large group. We hope to come back!

Perfect Family Holiday

We had the most lovely holiday with 9 adults and 3 kids plus visiting cousins. The space is amazing and spacious, kitchen is fully equipped for a to prepare a big meal. Everything has been thought of -- from an extra large fridge, extra coffee carafes, extra seating, games, blankets, separate seating areas to spread out, etc. The house is very quiet -- you can have kids sleeping in the 4 bedroom wing, while others are still up in the main living space. The property has a lovely trail and the fenced in yard was great. The home is gorgeous, and close to all the fun of New Buffalo/ Union Pier, etc. The hosts are responsive and friendly! I hope we can come back soon. Highly recommend!
