Our Multigenerational Family visit was amazing. Cottage was everything we expected and more. Property owner had everything available that we needed. Lake was great for swimming and kayaking. Deck was a wonderful spot to relax. Grounds were well kept. It is a property we would love to return to in the future.
This was a suprise 16th birthday stay. The condo was beautiful. The kitchen was fully stocked, so we were able to cook most of our meals. Definitely will stay here again.
Great location could use some updating for the price. Had a few amenities missing from what was advertised but overall great location and place to stay
This location is awesome! It’s like you’re on the edge of the world….
If you want a million dollar view , this is the place!
We will definitely be back!!!
We absolutely loved our time at Pelican View. For such a last minute booking, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. The property is a little dated - but the purpose is to keep you happy at the beach, and that’s exactly what it did.
We enjoyed staying at this condo complex. Right on the beach; super short walk to the beach and pool. Stephen was responsive and helpful. We left a beloved blanket behind and Stephen and his cleaner are working it out to have it shipped back home to us, which means the world! Would definitely reccomend.
Stephen was responsive to a few questions I had before our stay. We had a very nice view just steps from the water. Cooking was a breeze with all you would need.
If you’re looking for a true family beach vacation that is not commercialized, look no further. This place is like stepping back into my childhood memories of Kure Beach. My kids loved playing on the beach and visiting the pier and arcade.
The owner was very quick to respond to messages and communicated some things that were out of his control but could be seen as an inconvenience. We would definitely consider staying here again.
We enjoyed our trip to Kure Beach and stay at this property. The location was quiet with beautiful views. A big plus was the cleanliness of the condo. Had a good assortment of kitchen amenities. The owner offered prompt and courteous replies when we contacted him with questions. The only negative is the outside building could use some TLC and the instructions to connect to Wifi need updating. We truly enjoyed our vacation and will look to stay here again.
My wife and I found this place for the two of us and we’re glad we did. It sits right beside Fort Fisher preserve so there are no additional houses or condominiums. The condo is directly on the beach and the area is not crowded. The views are amazing and you can watch the sunrise from the living room or back deck. The ferry to Southport is a few miles down the road. Designated parking for the condo itself. Would definitely recommend.
Best view and location ever... lots of great memories tucked into our minds. Kure Beach's coquina rock formation is home to a very rare and distinctive mossy hard rock outcropping. Only visible during low tide, the rock is cemented together by seashells and coral with an estimated origin ranging from 12-80,000 years ago. This well-maintained condo is located near the coast of Fort Fisher and has great views of this true natural wonder and remains the only rock formation on the coast of North Carolina that is also home to a variety of wildlife.
We enjoyed the view but the condo did not have enough towels, sheets or pillows for a family of 5 even though it was advertised to sleep 6. There were no linens provided for the sleeper sofa and we were not informed of this prior to our arrival. When asked about additional towels (4 were provided) and no linens for the sleeper sofa, we were informed they were not provided due to the housekeeper not having time to do the additional laundry between rentals. We enjoyed the view and being on the beach, but host should not advertise this to sleep 6 if unable to provide linens for 6.
Overall, this condo is a good find! We enjoyed the location, especially being oceanfront for the price. It had everything we needed and nothing more. The check out process was a little ridiculous, especially for already paying a cleaning fee in order to book the place. It felt like if the owner could find a way to charge you extra, then they would. For example- a "reorganizing fee" if you didn't put stuff back where you found it. A $50 charge if you didn't put the parking pass on the table. After dryer use, remove the lint. Put dishes in dishwasher and start it, pull sheets off beds and start one load of laundry... like geez why am I paying a cleaning fee if all of this has to be done and on top of that you are charged if you don't. Super annoying! A couple of recommendations for the owner to make it more comfortable of a stay:
1. Listed as having black out shades...they definitely are NOT black out so probably remove that from description if you aren't going to provide them.
2. Maybe put some rugs at the doorways so that people can wipe sand off their feet before they come in and out. Even coming from the deck back inside would be nice.
Spectacular views everywhere, spotless, spacious, remote from noise and crowds. You could literally look down from the balcony at the edge of the surf at high tide but was easy to find nice beach space for lounging. If it was mentioned in the listing that the pool was closed I missed it. Granted it is October but the temp was near 80 and we hoped to enjoy a pool. Very close to an impressive aquarium to visit if the weather is bad. Enjoyed Bud & Joes, Freddie's and Jack Mackerel's nearby.
What more can I say, this place is fantastic. Right over the beach. Out of the way so it was quieter than other options. I will be back, hopefully soon!
