Everything was lovely. Nice touches like fabric to cover furniture from the dogs. So many places to sit around the property and enjoy the views. My dad and uncle had so much fun looking at all the trees and picking some pears. The air conditioners in every room were great. The whole house was kept cool and it was a hot weekend.

This house is magical. We came here needing rest and stop on vacation. I recently lost my grandmother, and staying here — in a place clearly shaped by the love of another grandmother. It brought me comfort. It inspired me with ideas for preserving my own grandma’s legacy. Thank you for creating such a special place. We hope to return someday.

Beautiful farm in Willamette Valley

The owners obviously spent a lot of time creating a bucolic getaway, smack dab in the middle of the Williamette wine country. Everything was as described, and they were very communicative, which was much appreciated

Farmhouse in the Country

Charming old farmhouse in the countryside, minutes from Salem. My family loved the comfortable, homey interior and spacious bedrooms! We enjoyed our walks around the property through the fields with our dogs and loved being in the garden! The porch was so relaxing in the peaceful atmosphere.

What a treat to stay in an authentic farm house. The location is quiet and the views amazing. The house was as advertised - due to age, it has the expected quirks. It was a cool weekend while we were there so didn't need to use the window ac units in the upstairs rooms. It was a wonderful reunion of ‘mature women’ who have known eachother for nearly 30 years. We didn’t want to leave each other or the house.

Beautiful Historic home

Beautiful. Built in 1805. The only negative thing I would sai is it doesn’t have central air so in the summertime it gets pretty hot & stuffy in the house. We had a very relaxing time.

I'm sorry, we must have had a miscommunication. Our listing and our digital guest guide both warn guests about our harmless box elder beetles. Your message to me was that there were ten bugs in the entire upstairs. Maybe a rural property isn't a good choice for you! We hope you find a good match in the future.

Salem 70.3

My family and I travel a lot for triathlons, we participated in the Salem 70.3 which was only about a 20 minute drive from the Owl Barn. The house is in the country, even though only 20 minutes from the city.. The farm is beautiful with the most beautiful views of the other farms. We also took our 11 year old lab, she loved it! Bed were comfortable, bathrooms nice and clean, kitchen stocked with everything we needed, especially a coffee bean grinder :) Easy check-in and easy check-out. We cooked every morning and picked fruit, took long walks, it was the perfect vacation. We will definitely be back next year!

Felt Like Home

We have rented a lot of properties in the past but this was by far the best. The property was beautiful and the house was cozy and well appointed. The family who owns the house had books displayed which explained their interesting history, history of the area, and you could feel the love and pride in their family and community. The people/company who runs the property were attentive and made themselves available if we needed anything. We were there for daughter’s surprise engagement. Photo opps around property were countless. Super cozy for our family to be able to share a meal, sit on the front porch and the living room and just be together and celebrate the special day. Beautiful memories made and this home was a wonderful place to make them.

Fabulous historic home

This is a wonderful place! We had a group of 8 who stayed for Thanksgiving weekend. Everyone kept remarking about how much they loved the house and the property. We used all 5 bedrooms, and everyone had plenty of privacy. The house is so big that noise doesn't carry, so if someone is up early, they don't disturb those who want to sleep late. The kitchen was equipped with everything we could possibly need, and the beds were very comfortable. And the property is spectacularly beautiful, with long-range views and a gorgeous garden that was still in bloom in November. The property has been in the same family for years, and it is obviously well loved. The management company is extremely responsive, positive and helpful. This was one of our favorite rentals ever!

We stayed at Barn Owl Hill Farm for 3 nights. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I love history and this house is full of relics from the past. It’s like stepping back in time but with all of the modern comforts. It’s full of antiques but is probably one of the cleanest rentals I’ve ever seen, especially for its age. It was a hot weekend but rooms had A/C and we all slept really well. We were there for a family reunion and my aunt’s 90th Birthday so we didn’t get to spend a lot of time at the house. I would loved to explore a bit, walk around the property, walk down to the cemetery, but just didn’t have time. A couple family members stopped by to see the place. They have lived the area for years and drove by often but never had a chance to see the insides. They were all amazed of how well maintained it was. Everything went smoothly and I can’t think of any issues we had. It’s on well water so you might want to bring your own drinking water but they tell you that upfront. Thanks so much for making it a wonderful weekend and I would 100% come back again.

Eola-Amity heaven

What a wonderful surprise. This plays was immaculate, it was far superior than any description can warrant. This family farm had tons of character, charm, care, and warmth. It’s a Sprawling private estate, rarely seen and or visited, but recently opened up on Vrbo, and I’m so grateful and honored for it . We enjoyed the walks around the house, and other buildings on this 64 acre ranch. The cemetery at Bethel Hills was breathtaking, and a great stroll late afternoon as the westerly breeze winds up to cool everything down in the summer. Everything that was necessary was provided. Communication with the team was the best yet. I’ve stayed at plenty of Vrbo’s, This was my best experience thus far. I would like to thank the family for opening up their history and love for this place it’s nothing less than spectacular. Thank you so much. This was a great place to hit the entire Willamette Valley. “I’ll be back” Greg

Our stay at Barn Owl Farm was wonderful. We had gathered from Mexico, Nevada, Washington and Montana for a wedding at Bjornson Vineyard. Our children grew up on a small farm and were delighted with the beautiful farmhouse and surroundings. The home was spacious and comfortable. We were able to have a room on the main floor and our grown children stayed upstairs. We spent time on the porch and the patio was a favorite. One evening we grilled and enjoyed watching the night sky on the grassy area to the west. Some of the wildlife; 14 bull elk, a garter snake, a hummingbird, quail, beautiful butterflies, finches and robins. The binoculars were great! The flowers and fruit trees were amazing, especially the ripe cherries! Meals around the farm table reminded us of home. The fun coffee cups and well stocked kitchen were appreciated. The home was a beautiful blend of old & new. We appreciated the showers and there was plenty of hot water! The beds were comfortable and the basket of extra cuddly blankets were great. The antiques brought back many memories. The kids found pictures just like the ones at their grandparent's home. We also enjoyed the old books. There were board games, puzzles and outdoor toys. I would like to thank the VRBO Cascadia folks. They responded to my questions and helped make this experience easy. I had never rented a VRBO before. I was so happy when my well traveled children commented many times that I had picked the perfect place for our family.
