Howl at the Sea - SGI
Come Howl at the Sea in one of the original SGI beach bungalows. Super Pet Friendly. Steps to the beach w the access path right off the back boardwalk. Rooftop deck with dining table, lounge chairs, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets and even a glimpse of the ocean. Less than a mile from restaurants, lighthouse, shopping and groceries. Ground level house so no climbing stairs. Two full bedrooms plus a daybed. One and a half bathrooms plus great private outside shower and rinse off shower station. Screened in back porch with couch, chairs and TV. Ample closet space for dog crates, pack n play or whatever you’re bringing to the beach. Also included are a gas grill, fish cleaning table, HEPA ionizing air filters in each room, filtered kitchen water and ice, and washer/dryer.
Pets are not just welcome but encouraged. Backyard is huge, fully fenced and even comes with a doggy pool. So, everyone gets to play. More than two dogs will be considered on a case-by-case basis. For the adults we have ping pong, giant Jenga, Connect four, cornhole and more.
Kitchen comes fully equipped plus slow cooker, toaster, coffee maker and blender.Come stay and play at Howl at the Sea!

Clean place all around me excellent accommodations. Only two rooms however an excellent stay for a single family. Probably one of the best places we’ve rented on SGI.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was close to the beach so easy access. The yard was big with a lot of activities to do. Our dog loved the gated area and we really liked the screened in patio to sit and relax. The town is only a few minutes away but also walking distance. Overall, it was a great vacation and we appreciate the host. Definitely would book again!!
This place was great. The house was clean and offered everything we needed. The back porch and sun deck were great and felt very private. The location was perfect and offered access to the beach and restaurants also. We would highly recommend.
My wife and I had a great stay at Howl at the Sea! The house was perfect, and had everything we needed. It was great to have such a short, easy walk to the beach. Our little pup really enjoyed having a nice backyard to go outside and explore. Wonderful trip and will book again when we need a wonderful place for just the two of us.

This was the perfect house for myself and my beagle. The yard was bigger than my own yard and she loved being able to explore. The house was a great size and everything we needed.
Eveything was wonderful. Plenty of room for everyone. Our hosts had lots of different family oriented games for our use. I especially loved the screened in porch.

We loved this house! It was so cozy and had everything we needed to feel like we were at home! The yard and screened in porch were perfect for relaxing and for our dog to run and play. It was a very quick walk to the beach. We can’t wait to book again!
The house had all the amenities you need. A huge fenced backyard which was beautifully landscaped w lots of palm trees. Perfect for our dogs! The inside was so clean and tastefully decorated. We loved the screened in sunroom which was comfy and airy. One of the best parts was the super convenient location just a few minutes to walk to the beach.
This is the perfect beach house! The house was decorated beautifully and immaculate, but my favorite thing was the back yard. It was like a private little paradise with comfortable seating, a hammock, ping pong table and corn hole. You can walk or bike to everything. Cant wait to stay here again!
My brother and I had the pleasure of spending 4 nights in this wonderful home. The outdoor shower was ideal for cleaning up after each day of fishing. So many amenities also. There was a large backyard filled with activities for small kids, not us but need to bring the grandkids here sometime! Walking distance to beach and everything you could possibly need. I asked the owners several times during our stay and got an immediate response. Can’t say enough things about the owners! Hopefully we’ll be back sometime soon.
By far my favorite host and house on St. George. Very cozy and dog friendly house with a great fenced backyard, screened back porch and more TVs than you can shake a stick at.
Quick walk to the beach and the host was incredibly great to deal with. Will definitely be checking if this spot is available the next time I visit.
What a fantastic weekend trip!! The home was absolutely amazing!! From the inside/out everything was perfect. We enjoyed our stay so much that we’re already looking to book another stay. The host/hostess couldn’t have been any more pleasant and accommodating to our needs. I highly recommend taking advantage of this property!!

My husband and I found this little gem at the SGI Chili Cookoff 2022. When we walked by and saw the for sale sign in the over grown yard, we knew this house was meant to be ours. It was in pretty bad disrepair but we just knew that we were meant to bring one of SGI's original homes back to it's initial glory. 2 months later we drove down for our closing with our 2 dogs and a mini U-Haul to get started on our little fixer upper.
But....there was a bad wreck on Highway 98 and traffic wasn't moving and according to the local sheriff, it wasn't going to move for at least another hour. We were in a pinch to get to the closing agency by 4pm. We were determined to make it to closing because if we didn't close that day, interest rates were going up. So, the sheriff told us about another route through Tate's Hell forest. Oh and did I mention it was raining and Tate's Hell is dirt roads with no road signs and no cell service so if our GPS went out, we would be, well, lost in Hell. It was a rather scary drive on thin roads with large trucks flying by and kicking up all kinds of dust, making it even harder to see. Luckily, we made it, late, but we made it and our wonderful agent waited on us. The deal closed!
To say we were excited when we pulled into the driveway is an understatement. Over the next few years we worked fixing up this beach bungalow, while stopping often to enjoy the island. We put a ton of blood, sweat and a few tears into this endeavor but seeing our before and after pictures makes it all worth it. We hope you enjoy Howl at the Sea and find a little piece of paradise and some rest and relaxation. We are so happy to share this with you.
Why they chose this property
We began looking for an investment property at the beaches close to Tallahassee where we live and after much consideration of places like Panama City and Destin, which we thought was too commercialized, busy and not super pet friendly, we then looked at Alligator Point, which we thought didn't have enough to do, so we decided St George Island was the perfect fit for us. Our kids have 4 legs and we just fell in love with the fact that our dogs were allowed on the beach (leashed of course) and even to the restaurants. Not to mention SGI is peaceful yet has many dining and entertainment options but isn't overly commercialized, keeping the quaint feeling.
What makes this property unique
We think our property stands out from many on the island because of our yard. It is large, flat, fenced and very useable. So let those pups run free and enjoy the sand between their toes too. We have taken advantage of this large yard by adding many games such as ping pong, giant jenga and connect 4, and cornhole, as well as a nice relaxing hammock under the palms and a patio bistro under string lights. We also have 2 kiddie and pet pools and a few sprinklers for even the adults to cool off with on the hot summer days. Come frolic in our backyard and get to the beach in a minute out our back gate using the beach access path.
