Perfect for weekend, week-long and extended stays for friends, family, loved ones, or business travelers to enjoy a peaceful and convenient trip.
The Space:
MAIN FLOOR:
When entering the main floor of our beautiful home, you will walk into a fully equipped and supplied kitchen that includes high counter seating and a wine cooler. You’ll proceed to a small, dedicated workspace and dining room area with a half-bath conveniently located nearby. You’ll then enter a spacious living room with a new Smart TV. Easy access to Sonos speakers are throughout the house. A queen pull-out memory foam mattress is available, along with luxury linens and pillows in the large storage closet.
SECOND FLOOR:
After going up a flight of stairs to the second floor, you will find the first bedroom with a queen bed, small workspace and the second bedroom with a king bed; each with ample closet and storage space. Both bedrooms contain luxury hybrid memory foam mattresses, linens and pillow options to fit your preferences for a dreamy night’s sleep. On the second floor is also a beautiful full bathroom with a standing tub and a tile shower. Botanical bath salts and lotions are provided.
BASEMENT:
A clean basement is where you will find the washer and dryer along with detergent, dryer sheets and other basic cleaning supplies.
OUTSIDE SPACES:
There is a comfortable covered porch overlooking the front entrance. In the back, there is outdoor seating and a dining area along with a gas grill in a beautiful private area.
PARKING:
There is enough space for one vehicle to park in the driveway. Free street parking is in front of the house and additional free, often plentiful, parking is on adjacent streets and Schiller Park area. Please do not block the sidewalk with additional vehicles.
FAMILY ITEMS:
A Pack n’ Play, 3 in 1 booster seat that serves as a hook on high chair, safety outlet plugs, children’s books, puzzles and games are in the dining room storage closet.
Guest Access:
Guest will have access to the entire home, with the exception of some locked closets where we store personal items and property supplies.
The Neighborhood:
For family, friends and visitors, German Village is also a home away from home. That’s because you don’t have to live in German Village to feel like you belong here. Whether you are interested in community services, historic preservation and architecture, neighborhood events, or where to shop and dine, German Village has something for everybody.
UNIQUE URBAN DESIGN
A highway bridge over Interstate 70 is all that separates the German Village Historic District from downtown Columbus, but as one looks east from the interstate, the difference between old and new is glaring. A 20+ story structure sits just north of the interstate bridge, and just south, in German Village, no structure is higher than three stories. Five blocks south, the spire of St. Mary Church stands 197’ off the sidewalk and towers over everything around it. Structures and sidewalks are orange masonry, and many streets (about half) are still brick pavers.
German Village does not have a recreated sense of history or kitschy Bavarian feel ~ rather, it is a neighborhood with architecture dating from the 1840s-1890s that has been preserved, and its use as a shared residential and commercial neighborhood has been maintained. People walk to their destinations, park on the street due to the overwhelming absence of driveways, and live life at a very pedestrian level. The neighborhood is extremely dense ~ very often only inches separate neighboring structures, and many structures were built for multi-family use. German Village is notably different because its appearance has changed so little.
Getting Around:
German Village is a walkable neighborhood with many shops, restaurants, entertainment options and coffee shots not far from the property. If you are traveling by car, parking is also available. The home's location provides easy access to downtown, the Greater Columbus Convention Center, The Ohio State University, Easton Town Center and so much more, all within a short drive. Ride sharing services and scooters (both with charges set by the operators) are also another convenient option to get around town.
Other Things to Note:
The home is located in a quiet residential area. Parties or unauthorized guests are not allowed and may result in termination of your stay. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
Interaction with Guests:
We offer support during your entire stay. You can either contact us via the airbnb app, or by cell phone which will be provided after check-in.
