Cozy, well-furnished non-smoking apartment adjacent to private home with private entrance. Hulu Live which provides Movies & Cable TV shows 'on-demand' and includes access to local networks. Small kitchen, living area and 3/4 bath with tiled 36'' shower. Amenities include wireless internet, flat-screen TVs in sitting area and bedroom, breakfast table, refrigerator, microwave, toaster-oven, coffee pot, dishes, glassware, silverware, cooking utensils, queen bed, and closet. Body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer and iron provided. Washer & Dryer on site (not shared). All linens included. Private entry with security door. Keyless entry allows for late check in if desired. Check-in after 4:00 pm, check-out before 11:00 am unless previously arranged. Quiet, safe neighborhood and great for taking walks. Senior Center is within walking distance. Two miles from ASU, Mill Ave, Town Lake, and Light Rail. Located in quiet residential neighborhood, walking distance to Starbucks, city bus stop, churches, grocery, library, restaurants, and Walmart. 12 minutes from airport.

Quiet, private place...we'll be back!

Very pleased with this place! Well equipped kitchen, neat and clean, private entrance & carport space to park. Small outside area to enjoy the great weather! Very quiet neighborhood within walking distance of Fry's grocery. Would highly recommend!

Shippy Chalet

The Shippy Chalet is always our first choice when traveling to the Phoenix area. It is in a great location (shopping, restaurants, access to major freeways), it is a great facility (everything you need to feel at home immediately upon arrival) and it has great hosts (Wayne and Nancy are available to immediately to address any concern you may have). My wife and I are happy to recommend this facility.

Shippy Chalet

Whether for a short stay or an extended period the Shippy Chalet provides a great experience. Great location: on a quiet street but close to all major highways and interstates, groceries, restaurants, etc. Great facility: everything is provided -from towels, linens, all kitchen items for cooking and baking, plus your own personal laundry, and even shaded parking. Great hosts: the owners are always available to address any concern you may have. The Shippy Chalet will always be our first choice for lodging when returning to Arizona.

Felt like home

This property was cozy and very clean! It had everything that I needed to be comfortable. I was there for a week, so it was nice having so many cooking utensils and appliances and a fridge to keep my food in! Wayne was very responsive and helpful when needed and I couldn’t have asked for a better host. I was there for an athletic retreat, so laundry was a must! The laundry room had everything that I needed. I will be booking here again in the future

Shippy chalet--a great rental

The Shippy chalet is the best. Great location (complete privacy, no traffic noise, within walking distance from a major grocery, a Wal Mart, fast food eateries, and close to all restaurants and cultural activities that a major university brings to the area), a great facility (all furnishings and cookware provided, limited snacks waiting for you upon arrival, laundry facilities a few steps from front door, and shaded parking), and great hosts (Wayne and Nancy respect your privacy but are always available to address all concerns). The Shippy chalet feels like home within minutes after arrival and it will always be our first choice when visiting the Phoenix area.

Convenient, compact and clean

This was our first experience with a “home away”. Lovely. Very surprised how quiet it was. Bed was very comfortable. Compact unit it but had everything we needed. Thank you for the snacks and the “basics”. Great to have laundry facilities too. I am glad you did not take down the canopy – we enjoyed sitting outside after touring and playing golf in the shade.

Hiking Holiday in Arizona

This apartment is very clean, well equipped and it's layout and design and attention to detail is superb. It's nicely located in a residential neighborhood yet central, making it easy to get to the hiking trails and other attractions of the east Phoenix area. Even though the apartment is attached to the house, it has its own private entrance. Finally, Wayne and Nancy were friendly and easy to deal with. Its all pros and no cons with this apartment. I myself would gladly stay here again and I highly recommend it for any couples or singles looking for a short term stay in the wonderful east Valley area!

Cozy, Clean, and charming

The Shippy Chalet deserves more than 5 stars it is even more than 10 stars. The moment I spoke with Wayne I knew I found the perfect place. It is beautiful and well decorated. It is immaculate and warm and cozy and quiet and just pure heaven. Nancy is amazing after traveling all day, how nice to have a welcome basket of fruit and milk. Both Wayne and Nancy make travel a pleasure and easy. Anytime I had a question all I had to do was email or call. Great location for walking and public transportation, close to the airport and surrounding cities. Shippy Chalet is perfect in every way. Thank you for making my return after 30 years to the valley so pleasurable.

Wonderful stay in Tempe

My wife and I spent over three weeks at the Shippy Chalet in Mar. and could not be happier. Everything that we needed was provided including some basic food items waiting for us when we arrived. This rental is secluded, clean, quiet (we never heard a single car drive by), and very safe. It truly felt like home by the end of the first day. The owners are always available if any need arises and very easy to talk to. In addition, the location is ideal. It's just a five minute walk to the nearby grocery, pharmacy, and even a Wal-Mart, and it is any easy drive to many of the Spring Training stadiums, in addition to the many restaurants and stores that you would expect to find around a large university campus (ASU). My wife and I plan on returning to the Phoenix area several times in the next few years and we will always go back to the Shippy Chalet.

Absolutely FABULOUS!!!

My husband and I stayed at here for a quick weekend trip and we couldn't have asked for better accommodations! The Chalet had everything that one could possibly need and it was evident that they'd put a lot of time and thought into preparing the space for guests; comfort was obviously their priority. The garden view was wonderful and all the little touches made this visit one that we couldn't have gotten anywhere else. We especially appreciated the electronic entry so that we could arrive at 1:30am and not have to wake anyone. The Chalet was close to everything we were there for (ASU, libraries, restaurants) and even things we weren't (SHOPPING!) Mr. and Mrs. were extremely helpful and made sure we knew they were available to us in the event that we needed something. We left yesterday morning and I think I've already told 5 different people about our stay - I want EVERYONE to visit the Chalet, at least once! If we are ever in the Tempe area again we KNOW where we'll be staying!!

Nothing better than the Shippy chalet.

Whether it's for a short vacation or an extended stay you can't find anything better than the Shippy Chalet. This cozy little apartment is connected to the back of a private residence in a quiet, peaceful, and safe location in Tempe. It is just a short walk to a major grocery store, a Starbucks, and other shopping, and just a short drive to many restaurants and attractions that a large university town provides. The owners (Wayne and Nancy) have thought of everything-- pots, pans ,all kitchen utensils you could possibly need, and towels, linen, soaps, etc. for the bath and bedroom. You even have your own private laundromat facilities. When you arrive you can expect to find fruit, a variety of snack bars, and food condiments waiting on you. My wife and I have stayed there for 5 consecutive years and we have never even considered looking elsewhere. For us it is our home in Arizona. Thanks, Wayne and Nancy, for your hospitality and all you do to make your apartment the ideal place to stay in metro Phoenix.

This place is great! Pictures on the website do not adequately convey just how special this place is. Wayne has used much thought & ingenuity in creating a cozy, comfortable getaway for 2 people. We didn't expect all the little extras like power strips and well-stocked laundry room. All was super clean. Bed was comfortable, place was located in a wonderful neighborhood, walking distance to stores & churches. We give it more than 5 stars and hope to stay again!
