About this property

A very unique cabin nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains along the banks of the Little Piney River. It is in Amherst County halfway between Charlottesville and Lynchburg and 15 miles south of Wintergreen Resort. It is perfectly located for a relaxing get away or starting point for outdoor adventures.

Take a stroll over the bridge to the Asian Garden or walk the nearly mile of private paths on this park-like property. Watch a movie on the big screen while relaxing in the evening.

The Owlsnest is the culmination of a 45 year project. It began in 1974 with the combining of two circa 1840 and an 1860 Chestnut Oak log cabins that were moved from a mile or so up the mountain.

The property lends itself to photography, forest bathing or bathing in the river, even sitting in a natural whirlpool rapid or stretching out on a big rock listening to the water flow by.
