Coastal Bliss, Ocean Views, 0.3 walk to Beach - 6beds, sleeps 9, dog friendly
Welcome to Sandpiper Shores, in the Heceta Beach area of Florence, Oregon. This stylish spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bath, sleeps 9, home offers peek-a-boo Pacific Ocean views and wave sounds from the upper deck with amazing sunsets. Lower deck to grill with lawn for kids to play (lawn bowling and cornhole). Close enough for a short walk to the beach on the neighborhood Hobbit Trail but a bit sheltered from the coastal winds. Close to hiking, tidepools, the massive Oregon Dunes (rent dune buggies or go on a giant 25 person dune buggy tour), Sea Lion Caves and Heceta Head Lighthouse. Perfect for families, couples, or anyone seeking a peaceful coastal escape. Big cook pot for local seafood meals, board games, books, big screen tv, and cards for fun game nights.
We are dog friendly (2). Just 100 feet down our road, the local hobbit trail is a 7-minute walk, leading you to miles of beautiful sandy beaches (there is some ambling over the dunes and the hobbit trail may be a bit slick when wet so wear sturdy shoes); breathtaking beach ready to explore. Heceta public beach access (2) is also 1/2 mile away with public parking and county bathrooms.
Sandpiper Shores boasts a great location, conveniently situated only 10 minutes from the historic Old Town of Florence with restaurants and shopping. Jerry's Bar and Grill is a quick walk up the block, across the street from that is a small convience camp store.
THE SPACE --------------- The house has three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a dining room, a kitchen (no dishwasher), and a family room with couches, a 50" TV, and access to the back deck and lawn. The family room has a queen sofa pullout.
One bedroom with a queen bed and a full bath is downstairs. Upstairs has the 2nd full bathroom, the master suite with a queen size bed and another deck with ocean views, and the 3rd bedroom with 3 XL-Twin beds. Pack-n-play for toddler and infant setup and high chair.
The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking meals (no dishwasher), with a Keurig duo coffee machine for k-cups or drip coffee. Washer and dryer onsite and games, coloring books, books, and beach supplies are available for our guests. Air conditioning is in the family room only, and 3 fans are provided. When there is a heat wave inland it gets foggy and cool at the coast. Temps can reach 70-75 and on a sunny day 77 on our top deck, otherwise usually never need air conditioning (true paradise). 50" Roku TV with YouTube TV subscription provided.
Great top deck for viewing sunsets or yoga and a private backyard with a 2nd deck off of the family room with a barbecue grill, corn toss and lawn bowling. Please no parking on our rear lawn- that is our septic system. Driveway parking only, can fit 3 midsize cars or 2 large SUV's. No parking under the carport. 2 dog max allowed. Bag provided, please pick up after your dog ($50 fee if dog waste is left).
Strong Wifi throughout the house and both decks with a mesh network and 500 Mbps Internet for streaming and remote work. Verizon cell service works best in the area, but you can enable wifi calling if needed.
Pull into the driveway slowly and be mindful of the 3 parking railroad ties (near carport and rear lawn). There is no street parking. The neighborhood is a peaceful beach community. Please drive slowly on our road- many children at play and walkers. The home sleeps 9.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE ----------------------------------- We have one outdoor security camera in the front driveway facing toward the road. It will be on during your stay.
The local hobbit trail to the beach is about 100 feet away from the front door and approximately a 7-minute walk. It is not too strenuous, but if a trail and dune walk is not for you, public beach access with parking is at Heceta Beach County Park (north of us), a 1/2 mile away (2 parking lots- 1 south of the hotel, 1 north of the hotel with 2 toilets). The Hotel also has a coffee and ice cream shop open to the public. Or head south to North Jetty Beach, just 4 minutes from the house with parking and bathrooms too, views of the Siuslaw River Inlet and trails to Heceta Beach.
Lots of shopping, antiquing, second hand shops and wonderful restaurants in the old town and along coastal 101. Lots of local hiking too or visit Darlingtonia State Natural Site, one of the most accessible bogs of carnivorous plants in the USA. And you will love all the stops up coastal 101 to Yachats and eat at one of our favorite restaurants: The Drift Inn. You can even horseback ride on our beach. So much to see and do for all ages; We look forward to hosting you at Sandpiper Shores!!

Our family had a great time at this property. The hosts were fantastic and provided more than we could have expected to accommodate us. Our pup loved his stay as well! The walk to the beach is a fun little adventure and the dunes were a blast!
We loved everything about this beach home! There was plenty of room for us and our four legged friends!! We also enjoyed the information and things to do in the area. The hobbit trail was a fun adventure to the beach for my children and I. Im sure we will be back to visit again!
Absolutely love staying here. It is always the peaceful relaxing reset my brain needs. I love the upper patio to watch and listen to the ocean. Its very cozy and close beach access! Hosts are always lovely
Had everything we could need, lots of information, very comfortable, very cute, and the walk was fun! A little slick - I'd be really cautious/skip with littles, but my bird nerd heart was in heaven on the walking path and in the yard!
From the time that I made the booking, questions before we came, while we were there and before we left Kathy and Mike were very responsive to every question or inquiry. The unit was great, all the amenities, and so great to able to walk to the beach which we took advantage of several times. Plenty of things to do even in the winter in the area. Comfortable rooms and beds. Highly recommend the property.
Such a great house! Enjoyed the multiple decks, clean house and comfortable accommodations as well as being so close to the beach. Hobbit hole was great being so close as well.
Beautiful home, well appointed with amazing decks and outdoor spaces! Very comfortable beds and location is quiet with nice view of the water from the deck.

Thanks for the great review. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and for being our 1st VRBO guest!
We had a fantastic time with our 4 grandkids and two dogs. The bedroom with three single comfy beds was perfect for the granddaughters. House has every amenity and the beds are super comfy and nice dining room and living room to hang out. Would definitely recommend!
The accomodations at Sandpiper Shores were wonderful for our family of six. The check-in and checkout process was easy. Our favorite part was the Hobbit Trail to the beach and the upper deck with the ocean view. The beds were comfortable, and yard was perfect for a game of bean bags. Sandpiper Shores was a short distance to downtown, and we loved exploring Florence.
We had a wonderful stay with our kids and granddaughter. House was supplied with everything we needed. There were indoor games, outdoor games and beach toys. Beds were cozy and house was clean.
We came down from portland just to enjoy the coast and it was the perfect vacation. So quiet and peaceful. The house was well equipped. Everything running well. I already cant wait to stay here again to be honest! Very lovely hosts.
We had a wonderful getaway at your house. My son likes to run in the mornings so he took the dogs to the dunes and beach. We bought a kite to fly, shopped, ate, and relaxed. Thank you!

We are so happy to hear that you had an enjoyable stay. Thanks for taking care of the home and leaving it in good shape. Good move buying a kite! We would be happy to host you again in the future. Take care, Mike & Kathy
This was a very nice, roomy place with multiple locations to lounge around inside and out. It's within walking distance of the beach, or a very short drive.Hosts are very responsive. We had very few issues, and none that weren't immediately resolved with a message. The hosts definitely monitor messages through VRBO and respond instantly.
This property was a perfect choice for our stay on the Oregon Coast! The location of the property was in a quiet area but close enough to town for groceries, restaurants etc. We walked to the beautiful beach that was about a 10 minute walk (it’s a bit of a workout through the sand dunes). The property was nicely decorated and clean and had all the supplies we needed for our stay. The hosts were quick to answer any questions we had before and during our stay! We would certainly stay here again.
Excellent accommodations and hosting service. Met our needs for parent and adult children gathering with multiple dog companions. A rare find in a wonderful location!Minor limitation of both bathrooms being fully situated within two bedrooms. Awkward entry for nighttime use. Slight remodel of downstairs bathroom for guests entry would alleviate situation.
Communication with the owners was prompt and easy. Check-in was simple and we were greeted by a welcome bag of goodies. The house is sparkling clean. The walk to the beach was an adventure down the hobbit trail. The kids loved the hike. The older folks found the few sand dunes to hike over a pull on the ole calf muscles.
A lovely little cottage and we loved our time there.
This beach area property was clean, well-appointed, and was well described by the owner. We had an easy time finding the house, opening the door, and using the property. I wish the owner had left the internet instructions in the house's owner manual; as I was about to check out, I discovered they were posted on the fridge door! Access to the beach required clambering.
Great time with family in Florence. The house was cozy and well equipped. The walking trail to the beach is interesting. Slippery wood lined path through boggy coastal forest and tall dunes to traverse. I recommend noting that in your details. The trek is not for manageable for folks with walking or balance issues.
My husband and I got to go and stay at this beautiful house the past two nights celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary and it was absolutely perfect! The home is very nice and cozy, and so close to everything that you need. It is walking distance to the beach but I would warn people that it is a little bit of a hike to get there because you do have to climb up and down some seriously steep sand dunes along the way to get to the beach, and being 3 months pregnant it was pretty tough. But we loved our time there and had the best time! It had been years since we have been to the coast and we even got to bring our 3 year old black lab pup with us and she loved every minute! We will definitely be keeping this place on our list of places to go back and stay again!
