Great stay!
Sherry began communicating immediately after booking. Very personable and helpful. Gave great directions. Met us at end of drive. Took us to property, gave tour of place, made sure we had everything we needed. Gave us info about the Ark and Creation Museum we were there to visit. Gave us info on local shopping and other attractions. The house was immaculate. Cleanest place I’ve ever stayed. Went out of her way to get local honey for us. She’s a five-star host. We enjoyed getting to know her. The property was quiet except for sounds of nature. We saw wild turkeys and a deer and a great variety of birds. Well stocked with everything you could need. Very comfortable.

Perfect place to stay for visit to Ark Encounter
Miss Sherry was very kind and welcoming. We are thankful she allowed our family to stay at her property while visiting the Ark Encounter for the Homeschool conference. The bread and brownies were delicious. Everything was clean and working. The property was very quiet and relaxing. This was so much nicer than staying at a hotel, and we wished we could've stayed longer. Highly recommended.

Kentucky/Ark Encounter visit
We were a family of MS traveling through Kentucky for the first time to visit the Ark Encounter. We wanted to stay close to the ark encounter in a safe place and where we could save money by going back to our stay for lunch. This place was just the place with great cleanliness, short drive to the ark, and we felt safe there. I enjoyed being able to fix meals for my family there and use the washer and dryer. Mrs Sherry was very easy to talk with and she had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable! I would recommend this place to anyone and if i traveled back to Kentucky again id choose it again as well.

Great Property, 100% recommend.
Our family had a wonderful time. It was a great property to stay at for our visit to The Ark. Communication was fantastic. Quiet and serene views of the fields and The Ark. Only wish we could have stayed longer. Had everything we needed. Even homemade bread at arrival. Clean and well stocked. Could not ask for more in a home away from home.

About the host

I was born on our farm and have always loved the farm life. I would never have thought about hosting a vacation rental but a neighbor suggested it to me. Since we started the rental, I have to say I thoroughly enjoy the experience. I absolutely love meeting all the folks who come, finding out something about them and what it's like where they live. I have met so many wonderful folks and have stayed in touch with several of them over the years. I have to say that God has sent us nothing but good people.

Why they chose this property

I didn't choose the neighborhood but was born here. It's not unusual to be going down one of our country roads and have to stop because two neighbors have stopped in the road talking to each other. Many of the folks you meet on the road will wave at you as you pass. They don't have to know who you are. It's just the friendly thing to do.

What makes this property unique

Our farm is 160 acres and our grandchildren are the 5th generation on the farm. I was actually born in a house on the farm and grew up with my parents and my Mom's parents living on the farm. My Dad's parents were just down the road about a mile away. We have always been very family oriented. Our rental is on the back of the farm down a gravel road 7/10 of a mile long. As children, my siblings and I walked the road twice a day to catch the school bus in the morning and then return home in the afternoon. I especially loved winter because we always had lots of snow and got snowed in alot. It was a wonderful life and I just hope people can experience some of the wonder and the beauty of being surrounded by nature rather than traffic and concrete. It was a much more simple and slower life than we all seem to live now but, again, I hope people will use our rental to slow down and think about making memories with their families. Life is too short not to enjoy it. We try to offer a place where folks can just relax and enjoy themselves.
