Spectacular views on Wequetequock Cove! Near boat launch, trails, Mystic and Westerly, and RI beaches. Travel by boat to Sandy Point, Napatree, Watch Hill, and beyond! Ten minutes to shops, restaurants, museums, and historic sites. This quaint home was built in 1924 and has been in our family ever since. Enjoy relaxing views of Little Narragansett Bay from the spacious veranda or walk the over five miles of trails at the nearby Barn Island nature preserve. For the more adventurous, bring your boat or jet ski and launch from the Barn Island boat launch, just .6 miles away. A mooring in the cove is available for boats up to 3500 pounds. Smaller crafts such as kayaks and dinghies can launch directly from the front yard.
The house is secluded on 4.7 acres, bounded on two sides by state land, the third side by a family lot, and on the last side by the water. Privacy is ensured in this peaceful haven. The forest around the land creates a quiet oasis in a busy area. Enjoy the noises of the local birds, including the occasional evening whippoorwill. Across the water, the lights of Stonington twinkle in the dusk, and the familiar sound of the train whistle echoes over the cove.
Let the morning light inspire you! Watch ospreys fish while you kayak the shoreline, or head out to explore the sights in Mystic and surrounding areas. After a day at the shops or the beach, come back to a refreshing shower in our adorable outdoor cabana. In the evening, watch the incredible sunsets and enjoy s'mores at the outdoor fire pit. On rainy days, cozy up to the brick fireplace with a good book or a puzzle.
Indoors, enjoy breakfast at the antique kitchen table, or spread out in the spacious dining room furnished with a vintage table that easily seats eight. The living room spans the entire front of the house and has a water view from every window. Comfy couches and chairs beckon you for a chat or a snooze. Upstairs, the bedrooms welcome you with an eclectic mix of antique furniture and modern style. Water views brighten the two front bedrooms, and the back bedrooms look out on the expansive landscape with stately trees and mature plantings. The extra twin bed located in the upstairs hallway is curtained off for privacy. In Bedroom 4, the second bed is a small cot for a young child. There are also two folding foam beds in the living rooms, and a pack-and-play is available. The no-frills upstairs bathroom is well-stocked with necessities like soap and towels for your convenience.
The bright vintage kitchen has a full-size fridge and cabinets as well as a full-size electric range. It's stocked with full sets of dishes, pots and pans, and serving and baking dishes. Basic spices and condiments are included. Outdoors, a large gas grill awaits your BBQing pleasure. There is an older washer and dryer in the unfinished basement and a clothesline for wet clothes outside by the cabana.
