Welcome to Leucadia Beach Grotto, your newly renovated guest suite just blocks from the beach, inviting restaurants, and local markets. With a relaxed, surf-inspired style and thoughtful comforts, this private retreat is ideal for a romantic escape or a peaceful work-from-home getaway.

Located behind the separate main residence, the suite features its own gated entrance and two dedicated parking spaces—one inside the gate and one in the driveway. The backyard, pool, and BBQ area are exclusively yours to enjoy during your stay.

• Maximum occupancy is two guests, regardless of the available sleeping arrangements.

• Outdoor quiet hours begin at 10 PM.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
For checkout before 10 am, please leave all the sheets on the bed. Hang shower towels on the rack across from the shower.
Tidy as much as possible and take all trash/recycles to the bins outside by the gate.
Please clean the BBQ if you used it. Everything else we'll detail clean.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Plz, no amplified music or parties. Thx for being considerate w/ noise levels, as neighbors are just over the wall. Quiet time after 10 pm outside.

This place was amazing! The perfect location very private and safe and close to everything. The outside pool patio was a huge plus especially traveling with Tallulah our 3 yr old pitbull. Jason was a great host and made me feel extremely comfortable through the whole booking process and stay. I would definitely book this again, hopefully sooner than later!

Outstanding place to stay if you are planning a trip to Encinitas. The property has everything you could need and the host is super responsive. A nice extra is the pool just steps away from your accommodations. We will be back one day!

This property is all about the outdoor options. great seating, pool, loungers etc. our 15 year old labrador was very comfortable as well. walking distance to food spots makes things easy, and only 10 minutes from moonlight state beach.

The Grotto was such a delightful place to stay! It was very quiet and we woke up each day to the sound of birds chirping. Jason was a fantastic host -- he was very responsive and gave clear, concise instructions. The property was easy to find and well-located. I started most days with a run along the path 2 blocks away and finished with a dip in the pool. The Grotto was also the perfect place to vacation with our dog!

Perfect Getaway

My partner and I stayed for two nights with our two dogs. We were able to enjoy the whole property and loved that the pool was completely private. It was the perfect little getaway to celebrate our anniversary. We also appreciated that Jason and Denise were very communicative. Would highly recommend this property!

Super clean and pet friendly

This place is fantastic! It’s in a safe neighborhood, close to the beach, pet friendly, very comfortable, fairly priced, and exceptionally clean. What more could you want? We stayed over a month with a dog and cat and loved every minute of it. Thanks Jason and Denise for sharing this wonderful home with us!

Perfect beach getaway with our Labrador retriever. The Grotto had everything we needed and Jason the host was very welcoming and responsive. It was close to all kinds of restaurants and within a short drive of dog beach in Del Mar. The weather was exactly what we were looking for, an escape from the Arizona heat. We will definitely rebook this one.

My wife and I frequently vacation to San Diego. This is by far the best experience we’ve had renting out a place. Everything was very clean. The hosts also made sure to think about nearly everything someone would need including towels, beach equipment, floaties for the pool, aloe Vera, mosquito repellent. The small details is what makes this the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re living in a home away from home. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Great relaxing vibes with awesome amenities. Pool, bed and bathroom were elite!

The Leucadia Beach Grotto was a great find in this quaint seaside town. The private enclosed yard was perfect for relaxing by the pool and very dog friendly! I appreciated our host, Jason, welcomed our little pup with a bowl of water and dog biscuit. The place was super clean and the Keurig coffee machine with pods was an added bonus. The secure off street parking was also nice in an area where parking can be limited. Jason was super responsive to messages and informative about the area. I’ll definitely be back when in the area again.

Clean, Convenient Location

We had an good experience staying at this property. The property was very clean, exactly as described, and met our expectations. The neighborhood is walkable and is a quick drive to restaurants and shops. Jason provided a water bowl and a cushion for our dog, which was very thoughtful, and there is a small turf area for dog potty breaks. The owner was incredibly responsive and provided clear instructions for self-check-in and checkout, which made the process stress-free. I recommend this place to anyone traveling with pets or looking for a clean and convenient vacation rental!

Convenient, private and comfortable property. The private pool and outdoor patio space was such a nice bonus and the unit was very clean and comfortable! Really appreciated the extra touches that helped our stay be more comfortable, such as access to beach chairs, extra blankets, pool floats, etc. Lots of things to make the stay more comfortable that are typically not included in rentals these days. Jason, the host, was extremely responsive and accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
