About this property
The Wildwood Cabin - Tahoe National Forest
Nestled in the woods of the Tahoe National Forest, the Wildwood Cabin offers a convenient all-season getaway. Situated near I-80, this location provides convenience for travelers from the Sacramento or San Francisco Bay Area seeking their next Sierra retreat.
Alpine scenery and knotty pine interiors transport you to a cozy cabin atmosphere all while being surrounded by modern conveniences. The Wildwood Cabin can accommodate up to 10 guests, but we recommend it for couples, families, friends, or multigenerational gatherings of 4- 8 people. You'll relish the tranquility of this location, where towering Sugar Pines envelop you in the crisp, refreshing mountain air, offering a serene escape from the crowds!
Summer at the Wildwood Cabin:
Make the Tahoe National Forest your home base for hiking, mountain biking, and kayaking adventures. Explore local waterfalls, such as North Fork Falls in Emigrant Gap, or spend a day at the beach at Serene, Donner, or Tahoe Lakes! Load up your cooler and bring your boat because parking is plentiful.
Winter at the Wildwood Cabin:
Endless winter fun awaits at this ideal ski cabin, perfectly situated for your skiing and après-ski needs. Location, location, location! The Wildwood Cabin is 22 miles from Boreal and 24 miles from Sugar Bowl. A 20-minute drive will take you to a variety of family-friendly ski resorts, welcoming both beginners and advanced skiers to the mountains.
All-Season Exploration:
Explore historic Old Town Truckee and other charming alpine communities. 45 minutes to Gold Rush towns like Nevada City and Grass Valley. Or simply unwind, entertain, and relax at the Wildwood Cabin, where your alpine mountain getaway awaits!
Work from the Wildwood:
Stay connected with high-speed Starlink internet, available throughout the house. A dedicated workspace is provided in the second bedroom.
Winter Weather:
Please note that winter weather in the Tahoe National Forest can bring heavy snowfall. The Wildwood Cabin is conveniently situated before Donner Pass for travelers coming from San Francisco or Sacramento. For guests coming from these locations, you also avoid traffic in Truckee.
The cabin is located on a community plowed and paved road. The driveway is also plowed once a week, which may occur before, during, or after your stay. During heavy snowstorms, you may need to shovel out your cars and walk through some snow (heavy snowfall can bring a few feet of snow) to access the cabin. Always check local road conditions and follow recommended guidelines, including carrying snow chains.
Please be aware that smoking is not allowed, and no pets are permitted. The Wildwood Cabin is equipped with exterior cameras.
