Welcome to Mountain Laurel, a rare Red River Gorge escape set on 12 privately owned acres along the banks of the Red River. Located just off KY-715 near the Gladie Visitor Center and surrounded by National Forest land, this cabin offers unmatched privacy in a prime Gorge location. Walk to trails, climbing, fishing, and kayaking, then relax in the hot tub or by the fire pit. Rustic luxury, nature, and adventure come together here.



The Space:

Mountain Laurel comfortably accommodates groups and families with four queen beds spread across multiple sleeping areas:

• Main level: 2 bedrooms with queen beds

• Upper level: 1 private bedroom with a queen bed

• Loft: 1 lofted sleeping area with a queen bed



The cabin features rustic-luxury finishes throughout, including designer fixtures, custom furniture, a spacious walk-in shower, and thoughtfully designed gathering spaces indoors and out.



Guest Access:

Guests will have full access to the cabin and surrounding private acreage.

The Neighborhood:

Located in the heart of the Red River Gorge, just minutes from the Gladie Visitor Center, this cabin sits behind a private, key-code-protected electric gate for added seclusion and peace of mind. Few properties offer this level of privacy in such a central Gorge location



Getting Around:

A personal vehicle is required. The cabin is easily accessible from KY-715 and close to major trailheads and climbing areas.



Other Things to Note:

• Supplies: We provide a complimentary starter amount of hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, dish pods, laundry pods, and basic cleaning supplies.

➤ Guests are responsible for any additional supplies needed during their stay.

➤ We do not supply perishable or consumable items such as coffee, filters, salt, pepper, oil, etc.

• Cell Service: Cell signal is limited and unreliable in this area—perfect for unplugging.

• Water: This cabin uses filtered well water that is safe for bathing, cooking, and drinking. The water may retain a natural sulphur smell, which is common in the Gorge. Guests are welcome to bring bottled water if preferred.

• Pets: Pets are welcome!

Very nice secluded location perfect for peaceful relaxing. Cabin was clean and as described. My family enjoyed the surrounding trails and coming back at the end of the day to relax in the hot tub. The only issue we had was the igniter on the grill did not work but purchased a lighter and problem solved. Would definitely book this cabin again.

The showers are terrible because there’s zero water pressure. And the road in and out in either direction is a pretty daunting task if you are not from the area, quite dangerousOther than those two things, the place was absolutely fantastic. Beautiful, clean, quiet, and very relaxing.We enjoyed greatly.

Very nice pet friendly cabin. Inside was very pretty and clean. Roomy. Would fit 8 people comfortably. The beds, however, were not comfortable, and those sleeping on the first floor can hear everything from the second. The hot tub is large and works well but needs a good scrub. The fire table was a nice touch but there were no instructions for it or the grill so you’re on your own. Definitely bring in your toiletries for the bathrooms. You receive small hotel toiletries but no bath sized soap for the shower. Good WiFi and tv. Comfy couches. Lots of blankets. Very remote. A long drive into the forest on very narrow roads and you must be eagle eyed to find the property gate. I wouldn’t try it at night. The road is gravel and there is a very sharp turn to get to the cabin. The setting is lovely. You can see the river from the cabin

It has a beautiful property close to a lot of trails and easy access to the main road. The gate gives you piece of mind to stop wanderers. The only slight hiccup is we didn't expect groundskeepers to be there during our stay but they provided minimal disruption.

We had a wonderful time staying at the cabin. The cabin itself was clean. The porch is another story. The porch is very dirty and should be cleaned as most guests want to sit out there and enjoy it. The doors to the cabin are very dirty and need some attention. We were only left with one towel per person and not enough wash rags per person. Two dish towels and two hand towels for a 5-day stay. You need to leave more towels when people are staying that long. Communication with the host was excellent, we asked for more towels to be brought and she did have the cleaning person bring us more. Also, on the advertisement for this particular cabin it says there's a washer and dryer. However there is not. So I believe your advertisement for this cabin should be updated.

We booked this for a family "camping" trip for my mom, who is unable to actually camp. A cabin in the woods with only one step up and first floor bedroom was perfect for our needs. Before the trip time came, she ended up needing to be in a wheelchair. It was a little tricky getting get up on the porch, but there were no issues once up there. The place isn't advertised as being accessible, but it was fairly accessible for a small chair with assistance! Overall, the cabin was great. A quiet retreat in the woods. There are a few maintenance issues, like buckled flirting and the fire pit on the porch in the pictures isn't there anymore. We only had one small issue (no laundry detergent), and the hosts were quick to respond and resolved it. We would definitely book here again if looking for this sort of trip again

Could use a good power wash. The beds are not very comfortable. The driveway is big once you get in it, but it's a bear to get in and out of. Can't really get to the river from the cabin, huge incline. Which was a downer. But it accommodated us for the people we had. The drive to get there is a doozy also. Would probably not stay again, as it just wasn't what we thought it was going to be!

It was just that there was barely any service and I couldn’t text her cause she had a text now instead of like Apple so we could text through Wi-Fi and there is no propane so we couldn’t use the grill and or the fireplace

Cell service can be limited in parts of Red River Gorge depending on your carrier, though the cabin does provide Wi-Fi for guests during their stay. We loved our stay here! The location was amazing. It was quiet and secluded, but we were able to walk to several hiking trails. The view from the deck was beautiful and we used the hot tub everyday. There was plenty of room for everyone. We communicated with the host a couple of times and they responded quickly. Would stay again!

The house was in a great location for enjoying hiking. The back porch offers incredible views and was enjoyable for eating dinner. The house was big enough for our group of four. The biggest downfall was the house was dirty. It really could use a good cleaning. This is why I didn’t give it a five stars rating. I still would recommend it if you want to be close to hiking trails.

Thank you so much for your 10/10 rating! The gas grill on the property does work. It is hooked up to our full house gas tank. So there is not a normal propane tank next to the grill. I cannot begin to say enough nice things about this property! First of all the host was very fast and efficient at communication prior to check in! After check in, the house was gorgeous and the property was breath taking. We frequent the gorge A LOT whether to go backpacking, hiking, camping, or a combination! To be placed in the middle of the RRG on private property was phenomenal! But of course with the lovely weather we deal with in KY, we picked one of the wettest weekends of the Summer! That just meant we got to enjoy the amenities of the House! We got in the Hot Tub multiple times of day and really got to enjoy the covered deck in the back as we watched the storms come in! What really blew me away is that we lost power multiple times and the back up generator worked flawlessly! We still got to enjoy power and internet! We literally used everything the house had to offer...Hot tub, Grill, table top Fireplace, you name it! It was one of the best trips we have had! Also, with a break in the weather we got to take a trip to Slade and enjoy the shops and dinner at La Cabana! We can't wait to take another trip to the RRG and hope to stay at the Mountain Laurel or Rivers Edge in the Future! Thank you so much for everything!
