It was a wonderfully cozy house that was a perfect get away for a busy wedding weekend. It made our weekend so simple and relaxing with very easy going hosts.
This place is such a lovely retreat! We had a wonderful time walking and exploring the area. The cottage is beautifully decorated and so cozy. Gene and Laurie were the perfect hosts. We will definitely be back!
Wonderful place if you want to get away but still be near everything. Birds and squirrels galore! Surrounded by green fields and trees. We stayed a month and the cottage really was like a home for us. Owners are wonderful people.
This sweet cottage was very clean and lived spacious for the square footage. The view was peaceful with a country feel. Convenient to Austin, Hill Country and grocery stores. We had an enjoyable, relaxing stay. The owners were quick to respond and accommodating. We will stay again!
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. The cottage was very peaceful and we had a great time. The host really went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. When we arrived there was a bottle of wine, homemade cookies, a bouquet of flowers and quiche in the fridge. The host was very quick to respond to questions. I highly recommend this property and this host!
Lovely cottage in a uniquely peaceful, quiet setting. Thoughtful hosts left homemade quiche, cookies, wildflowers, and local wine for us, and made this stay as enjoyable as our first. We look forward to returning. Only 30 min. to everything we wanted to do in Austin and in Dripping Springs.
Please note: Not a party venue.
Best rental as far a comfort and accomodations. The Sharps go through great lengths to make this seem like your at home away from home. Our pups also had a great stay, they had a little fenced in area to explore. We stayed there to visit the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center, which was less then 20 min away. April/May is a great time to visit so many flowers everywhere. The bird watching on the cottage was very impressive. Less than 30 min from hiking, restaurants, breweries, and wineries.
A serene Hill Country retreat with excellent hosts
My wife and I stayed at the cottage for 8 days, and enjoyed the quiet and peacefulness here as much as the broad swaths of wildflowers suffusing the meadows with color. Our hosts were friendly and easily reachable, and welcomed us with local wine, home-baked quiche, and home-baked cookies. The cottage itself features a comfortable bedroom and bath, a well-equipped and functional kitchen, and an open living and dining room. We also enjoyed the back deck, where we could sit and read, experience the quiet, and observe an array of visiting birdlife. We would both strongly recommend this lovely property and these hosts!

The perfect cottage in the perfect setting!
This cottage could not be more perfect! It is in the most peaceful, beautiful setting. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything that you could need (including fresh baked cookies!). And it is immaculate. My sister, her husband, and their grown daughter stayed at the cottage during a family reunion and they loved it. Laurie and Gene are wonderful, and we plan to be back. Thank you!!!

Quaint, quiet, quality
I don't usually write a review while we are actually at a property, but it is so comfortable and relaxed here that there is plenty of time to write as we enjoy the tranquility.
As we drove up just about dark, the cottage looked "country" just as in the pictures. When we opened the front door, however, we were pleasantly surprised to find an interior that delightfully combined country charm with a thoughtfully decorated touch of class. The pictures do not come close to capturing the attention to detail and the spotless presentation. The owners have provided every convenience and we settled in immediately. It was even more fun to wake up in the morning light to discover this beautiful piece of Texas countryside. We hope to stay here many times in the future as we visit our family in the area. Thank you to Owners Laurie and Gene for sharing this wonderful property with us.
My husband and I loved our stay at the cottage in Travis County, Texas. Laurie and Gene are very responsive and have created a very clean and comfortable cottage. The view out the full kitchen window and deck is beautiful--SO many birds and the acreage and hills beyond are peaceful. So many wonderful touches throughout the cottage--shampoos etc in bathroom, spices, oil, coffees in the kitchen, comfortable bed, plenty of towels, treats and wine!. We will be back!
The cottage is only 20 minutes from downtown Austin and was perfect if you enjoy the peace and quiet of the country rather than city noise. Everything was clean and looks even better in person than the pictures do justice. We were greeted with a bottle of wine, fresh cookies, and homemade quiche from their farm fresh eggs. Everything was absolutely delicious and our hosts went above and beyond. It was a perfect weekend getaway!
We were in town for the Formula 1 race and this was the perfect place! Very thoughtful approach and the owners have thought of everything. Cookies, quiche, etc!! All waiting fir us ahead of time. Amazing!! It may seem remote, but we were 25 minutes or less from anything we wanted to do in town without dealing with craziness in town as a result of the F1 crowd. Thank you for making our weekend even that much better!
All of our expectations were definitely met and then some The Host went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was wonderful and it was.. fresh cookies treats for the dogs chocolates and best of all the best quiche I've ever had
Laurie was so kind and easy to work with when booking the property. She really goes above and beyond when it comes to the house. Her property was beautiful and a great location being just 25 minutes from downtown Austin and 15-20 to several distilleries. We will definitely be booking this property for our next Austin visit.
Sweet, clean cottage with fresh eggs, fluffy towels, decaf coffee! Comfortable bed, well appointed kitchen. So.e concern about having to purchase an insurance policy on top of all other fees. But would stay again!
Authentic, gracious, Central Texas hospitality on a peaceful acreage property. Completely safe property yet very easy to get to Austin or the Hill Country. Enjoy watching the horses play in the pasture, while eating farm-fresh eggs from the chickens. Charming cottage with a picket-fenced yard for your pet. Gracious hosts. Would definitely return!
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. The hosts were so friendly, inviting, and very easy to talk to. If we needed anything, they were acommodating. They are wonderful people. I would stay there again in a second!!!
The cottage is delightful: clean, sunny, and lovingly decorated, with everything you could need. Having a full and roomy kitchen was wonderful, and the deck out back overlooking the horse paddock and chickens was a marvelous place to relax, birdwatch, and just listen to the wind in the trees. The owners are super responsive and helpful, and the area is great for walks or nature rambles. Even when the weather dropped below freezing I was snug as a bug!
Laurie and her husband have done a fabulous job of creating the best outfitted b&b we've ever stayed in. And if for some reason it doesn't have what you need, they'll get it for you!
It's basically move in ready! Full size kitchen. Better pots and pans than I have at home. The bed was super comfy. The property is lovely (chickens and all)!
There is a reason they have such great reviews. I've never had better experience. Do it! You'll be glad you did!
