Breakaway to this traditional oceanfront cottage, located in the Sanderling community in Duck. With its three-sided wrap-around decks and covered screened-in porch, this home offers sun and shade, sunrises and sunsets, and spectacular oceanfront views (even from the sound-facing deck!). Morning, afternoon, and evening – sun worshipers or shade seekers can enjoy the beach all day long. Bask in the sun or relax in the shade. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee on the oceanfront deck and watch the sunrise over the ocean. In the evening, toast the day with a with a glass of your favorite beverage and watch the sunset in a blaze of vibrant reds, pinks, and oranges.

The top floor is an open living area with an ocean view from every window. There is a flat screen internet-connected TV and DVD player, a nook with rocker, couch (pulls out to twin), and small table w/ bench seating, a well-equipped kitchen with island and wet bar, and a large dining table for family dinners.

The lower level has a master bedroom with a king bed and private bath, one room with queen bed, and one with double and bunk beds. There is a flat screen TV and DVD player in every bedroom, and high speed wireless internet. Guests may also enjoy the sound-side pool at the Sanderling Racquet and Swim Club - or, for a small fee, play tennis. The Sanderling Spa is also nearby if you want to give yourself a special treat.

It is not a private walkway to the beach, it is a public walkway for the neighborhood, but that was not a problem - there is a very short private walkway from the house to the walkway over the dune, but it is very close and the public walk did not have a lot of traffic. Nice, quiet neighborhood.

Perfect home on the beach

The upper and lower decks are spectacular, interior is beautiful and clean and roomier than photos, and distance to the beach was perfect. We especially appreciated the beach chairs and umbrella left for our use--saved us from renting them. We also appreciated Beach Realty's good communication and easy transactions. We'll come again!

Perfect Beach Vacation Home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our first family beach trip to the Outer Banks. This house had the perfect location right on the beach with beautiful views of the ocean from the top deck. The decorations were tasteful, there was plenty of room in the common area. We loved the laminate floors (no beach home should be carpeted!), and the 2 outdoor showers were very convenient for the kids. It was close to all the activities we enjoyed such as hang-gliding at jockey's ridge, touring wild horses in corolla, shopping in duck, having fresh seafood at Awful Arthurs and visiting the Wright memorial. Of course lots of time was spent on the beach too. Appreciated the umbrella and chairs that were provided. Would stay there again!

Great week in a great house!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband, daughter, son-in-law & 11-month grandson all concurred that this was the perfect house for us. We caught the edge of Hurricane Jose for a couple days but the view from the house was spectacular (from both inside & oceanfront deck). Very comfortable w/well-supplied kitchen, beach toys; lots of games/puzzles Only disappointment was the restaurant-style high chair; no tray, no secure belt/harness. The porch furniture/pads were fabulous. The screened porch was a perfect away-from-office office; wifi excellent. Beach access perfect; outdoors showers ideal (& clean!). There were many thoughtful and welcome touches by owners, who obviously take pride in their house. We hope to be back!

"Great week in a great house" is absolutely what every owner and every rental company wishes to hear from any guest in any rental home. These owners do take great pride in their home and are always looking for ways to make their guest's stay more enjoyable. Being on the oceanfront was I am sure thrilling to watch her at her wildest and hopefully after calm and serene. Having place to go to do the work, which you promised yourself you would not do on vacation is such a great area to experience. Lovely home, great location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Plenty of room for our group of 6 plus two small dogs. Beach access right at the doorstep, and views of the ocean from the top floor and spacious deck. Newly redone bathrooms and kitchens, plenty of closet space and 2 outdoor showers -- with hot water! Nice neighborhood streets for morning walks. Off the main road, but close to shops and the community pool. Our only complaint was the cleanliness of the house in general. Hair -- human and pet -- was everywhere, including vents, corners, under furniture and rugs and on top of bed coverings. Management company offered to send out cleaner but we were already settled in so I swept up the hair -- and copious sand -- and cleaned it myself. Had to request additional clean linens to replace the ones covered with hair from the bedspreads. Happy with responsiveness of Beach Realty company. Very friendly and helpful.

Reviewer Comments: I've been vacationing in the Outer Banks since the mid 70's and my husband and I have been making the yearly trip with our family since the late 90's. Duck has become our favorite place to be and this beautiful home has become part of our cherished memories. The house is clean with a very well equipped kitchen and is perfect for those of us who bring our 'fur babies' on vacation. As always looking forward to our next visit.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was very lovely and well-maintained. There were many surprise amenities like beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards. The rooms were well-decorated and relaxing. The attached baby gates were wonderful and did not take away any of the charm of the home. The only issue was one of the keys did not work on any of the doors. We didn't find this out until near the end of the stay. The office stated they would fix the problem. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants to stay close to the beach.

Very nice screened-porch with new furniture. Two high chairs on deck, that make it fun to sit out in the evening, and look for ships passing by in the distance. Very nice beach home!

Location, Location, Location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: You can't beat the view and the elevated deck chairs from which to take it in. Sunrises over the Atlantic! Gorgeous. Ditto for stargazing.It's the perfect house for a family with young or short children (bunk beds) and a teenager or grandparents along for the queen bed. The MB king bed was super comfortable. The twin pullout off the kitchen lacks privacy, especially at night. Curtains would be nice. The side sliding doors have no curtains at all. The front sliding doors have sheers only.The neighborhood is nice for walking the dogs. The public beach access was not an issue at all and had the added bonus of sharing the spider web patrol.The umbrellas, beach chairs and boogie boards provided were appreciated. We had fun playing the 1980's version of Clue. The kitchen was well equipped. Dishes and glasses were abundant! My only advice is to stock up on ice for cocktails & mocktails because the ice-maker is small. [Requests to the owner: a separate small trash bin in the kitchen for the recycling and more brooms for sand and spiderwebs or at least one on each floor. Also post a note to leave the washer's lid up and open so it doesn't get moldy smelling inside.][Advice to the cleaners - they should watch the show "Hotel Impossible" and see how the host Anthony wipes under the rim of a toilet to see if it is properly clean. Toilet brushes really don't get under there and now because I've seen that show, I notice.]
