This is a BEAUTIFUL cabin with stylish touches, clean lines, and spectacular mountain views via massive windows, the Alturas MTN View Cabin is the newest getaway on our 10-acre property. Only minutes from town but you'll feel miles away and surrounded by peace, quiet, and mountains in all directions.
A single-slant roofline gives a lofty, roomy feel to this open-concept space. Emerald and deep grays lend a moody and modern tone, underscored by black accents. Pops of gold, wood, and leather add warm and luxurious notes.
Whether seeking a low-key hideaway to sip dark French-press by the massive windows or fireplace, or an outpost for adventuring in the great outdoors, the MTN View Cabin is your stylish and relaxing haven.
This is the third and final cabin on our 10-acre property. Alturas 1 and Alturas 2 (a 1 and 2-br unit, respectively) have been in operation for a few years already and have been a hit with travelers. However, this new space is a slight departure in layout and design, but we know you'll love it!
There's more than enough elbow room on this (over) 10-acre property, and the neighbors and noise are plenty far away. Use it as a base camp for your travel, biking, fishing, hunting, or skiing adventure, or just get your relax on. Come just to get away and use the Wi-Fi for watching movies or working remotely.
MT Hwy 278 is part of the Pioneer Scenic Byway and "Big Hole Loop" with unrivaled access to skiing, hiking, hot springs, snowmobiling, Bannack State Park (ghost town), horseback riding, the RATPOD bike race, and world-class trout fishing on the Beaverhead and Big Hole Rivers (not to mention numerous small creeks and lakes to drive or hike to).
You'll be situated a very short drive from Dillon, MT; a cute western town with roots in ag, railroading, and education. There are plenty of shops, fun restaurants, coffee shops, a brewery, and local happenings to satisfy travelers year-round. Dillon is also home to 1 of 5 Patagonia Outlets in the country, as well as one of the biggest Labor Day celebrations around...complete with rodeos, concerts, and a fair.
You're also just a short drive from lots of fun/historic small towns with their own unique draw and appeal. There's an area information/recommendation booklet inside the cabin for reference.
There are 3 cabins spaced out on the property. Alturas 1 is a 1 BR, 3 guest cabin. This is our pet-friendly option. Alturas 2 is a 2 BR, 5 guest cabin. This listing, the MTN View Cabin, is a stylish open-concept cabin. Look for our other listing or inquire via messages if a larger space is needed.

Such a peaceful, enjoyable place for us to stay. It was so clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Our host was very responsive to our communication. We’ve stayed here before and enjoyed viewing the northern lights from the front porch. We will definitely be back!

We're always happy to have you, Becky! Thanks for the review and see you down the road!
Everything was great. It was a bit more than a “few” minutes to get to the place, more like 10-12 minutes, which we didn’t mind, just expected it a little closer with the word “few” We loved the quietness of the cabin!

Happy you enjoyed the place. Thanks for the review. Sorry you thought it was closer to town. Few just means a small number of.... takes me 8 min to get to the nearest grocery store/DQ. The map in the listing is pretty accurate, so mapping distances is def. doable.

This is a great place - clean, modern, and everything you need for 1-2 people. It is super quiet with great open views. Amazing sunsets and night sky views. Communication was prompt and instructions were clear. I would definitely stay here again.

We hope you do! So happy you enjoyed your stay. Thank you so much for the great review!
We loved our stay here, the little cabin is far enough from town to feel secluded, but close enough to still be able to drive in for meals and shopping. We loved that it faces away from other buildings and had a great view over the countryside to the mountains - exceptional sunsets and sunrises. Everything was new and in excellent shape. Would absolutely stay here again!
A great place to stay just outside of Dillon. There are three small cabins placed on the NE corner of the property. This one is the furthest NE and I feel has the most privacy. The host's were wonderful, and communicated timely information. We would definitely stay here again.

Kenneth, thanks for the great review! We'd be happy to have you back anytime. We really appreciate you.
The three cabins actually stretch from our southern property line all the way to the northern. From the highway to the first cabin's fence line isn't actually part of our land. Some of the 10 acres lie behind (east of) the cabins but most are in front of (to the west of) to preserve the view. No one can build close enough to ruin our wonderful western mountain vista!
Enjoyed our two-night stay at this lovely cabin. Everything was as promised in the listing. Very cozy and comfortable. Large windows allowed us to enjoy the picturesque environment. The sunrises were spectacular. Nic’s communication was excellent and was appreciated.

Thanks for the great review! We really appreciate you.
Glad you enjoyed the place. Moths are pretty common, as are flies, in the late summer when the grasses dry out. This year and last have been awful for moth numbers. A new building out in the open virgin ground is a pretty prime target for them, even with spraying. Thankfully it's getting colder at night and they'll start to dwindle. Next summer will be better as the structure/renter traffic will have been around for a year.
