The museum, centrally situated in Oklahoma, displays an intriguing array of exhibits, such as plaster impressions of supposed Bigfoot footprints and a mapped array of eyewitness accounts. Each artifact contributes to the mystery that surrounds Bigfoot. Chutay Ranch is home to the 'Sasquatch Soirée', a guided expedition covering three miles of dense forest, reported Bigfoot territory, which promises an adventure that stimulates the mind at every turn.

A visit here transports visitors through time, with exhibits highlighting the tribe's artistic flair and daily life, including colorful traditional clothing and intricate beadwork. The 'Sequoyah's Cabin' exhibit pays tribute to this influential Native American scholar, deepening the historical context. But history at the museum isn't static; during Choctaw Social Dancing events, visitors witness the kinetic energy of the 'War Dance' and 'Snake Dance', underscored by traditional Choctaw 'Dance Songs'. This dynamic mixture of static and living exhibits offers a rich tableau of Choctaw culture and history.
Robbers Cave State Park (34-minute drive):
Nestled within the rugged terrains of Sans Bois Mountains, this stunning natural beauty was once the former hideaway for infamous outlaws such as Jesse James and Belle Starr – offering a fascinating combination of history and the outdoors. Nature enthusiasts can traverse the challenging 7.5-mile Rough Canyon Trail or opt for the more leisurely 0.9-mile Mountain Trail. With a trio of lakes - Lake Carlton, Lake Wayne Wallace, and Coon Creek Lake - fishing, boating, and paddleboarding await. Animal lovers can delight in horseback riding or wildlife watching while thrill-seekers can hike along the picturesque sandstone cliffs.
Talimena State Park & Scenic Drive (38-minute drive):
Nestled in the heart of the remarkable Ouachita National Forest, Talimena State Park is a marvel of nature. Here, you begin your journey on the astounding 54-mile Talimena Scenic Drive, a winding path that showcases a vibrant panorama of foliage during the fall season. The Boardstand-Old Military Road Loop Trail, a well-traveled path of 22.5 miles, invites hiking enthusiasts to brave its moderate challenges and immerse themselves in the park's diverse flora. For overnight adventures, the park offers a variety of camping spots, welcoming both tents and RVs, while picnic tables and grills cater to day-trippers looking to bask in the park's natural beauty.

We’re so glad you chose Bison Ridge for your getaway. Thank you for the kind words!
Beautiful views and great cabin! The outdoor shower was fun on a moonlit night. Great firepit with wood and even color packets for fire provided. Host was very helpful and nice. Had an issue with hottub one night that they addressed and it needs a new cover, but it was clean and otherwise great. Will definitely stay again!

We loved our stay at Bison Ridge. The weather was great so we were about to dine outside. Beautiful sun rise with our early morning coffee. There is plenty of room for our family. Loved the zipline :)
It was so peaceful and beautiful. I did enjoy the 2 visitors who begged for bacon ( 2 huge white dogs) . Great place to get away from the noise for awhile. Host was friendly. After a hiccup on checking in everything was just amazing.

Thanks for staying with us and sharing your experience—we hope to see you again!
The cabin opened up a dream I’ve had , but never acted on . I always wanted a mountain home to escape to on the weekends, the way this cabin made me feel as if I were at home, was amazing, a feeling of belonging to the mountains. I’m going to do it , buy a little land in the hills, and put together a place of my own, and my two little pug dogs , loved the little walks we took in the early mornings

If you are tired of the craziness of Hochatown, then this is an excellent alternative! Robbers Cave State Park has some amazing hiking close by and is much less busy. This cabin is truly out in the woods away from others. The cabin is well appointed with

Thank you, Michael! We hope you'll come back for a stay. We have plans to add more amenities in the near future for you and your group to enjoy.
Such a lovely location and views from the front porch. The number of beds and bedrooms worked very well for our family. Plenty of seating around the table both inside and outside. Love the fire pit and the kids enjoyed the hot tub.
We had a wonderful time in the tranquil mountains. We felt so disconnected from the world. It was a great time. The amenities were perfect for a guys weekend. So glad to have found this place and thankful to the amazing owners

Thank you for the wonderful review. So glad to have the opportunity to host you all!
The cabin was very cute and clean , smaller than I thought. The only problem was we did not realize how much of a gravel road there was to get to it and a steep incline on gravel to the cabin. Would stay again if in a vehicle.

We hope that our spacious rooms and multiple indoor and outdoor living areas gave your group of 8 room to spread out and make lasting memories. The county road and circle drive of the cabin are graded and graveled which make them accessible with any drivetrain and we hope to welcome you all back in the future. Thank you for choosing us!
Although this property is new to hosting guests, it is beautiful, clean, organized, and many of your needs have been anticipated. We enjoyed ourselves here so much that we stayed an extra night. And it was well worth it! It served as a perfect home base to return to after engaging in the many activities that the area has to offer. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and am currently looking into booking again in the Fall.

Thank you! We hope you and your family had a lovely time! We have added more amenities since your stay so please do come back soon!
We booked this stay to celebrate my MIL's 80th birthday which fell over Thanksgiving week. She grew up in this area and was excited to show her grandchildren around and relive some of her childhood memories.
Our group of 7 adults and 2 small children fit comfortably into the home. Everything in the cabin was cozy and pleasant, but the real treat was the location. The view from the porch was amazing and we enjoyed walking around the property. Even in November, we enjoyed the large outdoor fire pit and the yard games provided. Once at this home, you truly feel like you are away from it all.
The kitchen had all of the necessary items for us to cook a full Thanksgiving dinner and a large birthday celebration meal. One consideration would be to have some space to store groceries. As this location is rather remote, renters will likely want to bring much of their food and drink with them. Every other kitchen need has been thought of and included.
We would happily return again for a quiet family getaway and would recommend this location to anyone else that wants to enjoy south-eastern Oklahoma.
