What a great place to stay when traveling with pets. It was very relaxing and comfortable for us all. We are looking forward to coming back. The Meyer Crew
This little cottage was clean, relaxing and provided all of our needs for an overnight stay. The fenced in area was great for my cousin’s little dog. The beds were comfortable and the provided coffee was a nice addition to our morning wake up. I will recommend this cute cottage to all of my friends. Thank you for providing us with a safe and relaxing stay.
This cabin was pristine. It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. My dog loved the fenced in yard - freedom from the tie out! I enjoyed time on the porch enjoying the quiet. I wish I could have stayed longer; will definitely consider going back.
A very convenient place to stay while traveling south. Unfortunately, through no fault of the hosts, we had a late afternoon and evening of continuous hard rain. I mention this because, due to the rain, I cannot speak to enjoying the outside area, The pool house, however, was cozy, clean and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable. The hosts were quick to respond to questions.
Cottage is amazing—charming, well kept, clean. An abundance of amenities provided. Kay and Fred were so kind and we loved staying the week. Highly recommend.
Kay is an outstanding host. The house was clean and accurately described. Kay has little touches that really make you feel at home. The beds are so comfy and the dogs loved the fenced in yard. Private and well kept. The view is also incredible. Cannot say enough about this place or Kay! Outstanding!
My daughter, dog and I were traveling from NC to Tampa, FL. on local roads and Kay's cottage was the best place to stop at! Her cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay and a perfect fenced in front yard for our dog. We truly enjoyed our stay. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Our stay was perfect. We stayed overnight with our small dog on the way to the Keys. The home is so very nicely appointed and well done. It was exceptionally clean. The snacks, water and coffee assortment was so very thoughtful. The surroundings are very peaceful. Our dog loved the fenced in yard which also provided a safe place to play and removed any worry. Kay was wonderful to work with and very responsive. It was even better than pictured. I would not hesitate to stay again.
This was the perfect cozy cottage. We stopped on our way from FL to NC and it provided everything we needed. The best part was that it was very dog friendly which was important to us since we brought our girls on the trip. Thank you!
Cute little house, convenient for those needing a break or getaway traveling with pets. Provided snacks and water was an extra bonus.

We had a wonderful stay in this cute, comfy, clean little red house. We didn’t have any pets with us to enjoy the puppy accommodations but we humans were very comfortable there. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area!
We absolutely loved this cottage. Perfect for us & our pets. The property was spotless & the little goodies supplied were amazing. We will definitely make this cottage our stop to & from Florida every year!!
This was the cutest place my husband and I have stayed and it being pet friendly was perfect. It was super clean upon arrival and was just as it was listed. It was great waking up to watch the horses and deer each morning in the paddock. The fenced yard was just the perfect size for my small pups.
The check in was easy, the cottage was beautiful, very homey, the host did not forget a thing, just like home, but so much more peaceful. Loved the horses, and their 3 dogs were amazing.
Perfect stay with our dog...lovely home, comfortable beds, and fenced in yard. Couldn't ask for more for our overnight stay. Would recommend and hope to return!
This was a short stop on our way to NC. Everything worked out well, Kay was great and we had a nice stay.

About the host
Hosted by Kay Holseberg
Welcome to the Red Cottage. I am Kay. My husband, Fred, and I moved out to the country about 17 years ago from Charleston. The Cottage was originally brought onto our property to be the home of my pecan business, Molly and Me Pecans, which I started in 2008 and sold in 2022. We baked all the different flavors of pecans, (the smells were amazing!), as well as packaged and shipped right from that tiny little cottage. I have such fond memories of that time! When I sold Molly and Me Pecans we decided to share the cottage with travelers who wanted a peaceful place to rest with their family or fur babies traveling up and down I-95, as well as locals who needed some extra space for family or friends visiting. I hope you will enjoy your stay here!
Why they chose this property
When we decided to move out to the country I wanted an old house with a few acres. When we drove up to this property, it had an old house with a wraparound porch and I immediately felt like I was home. My husband went out the back door and watched three deer cross the hay field, which is now our horse pasture, and he was sold! We have since had the house moved farther back on the property, renovated it and bought surrounding land.
What makes this property unique
You can see all kinds of wild life if you can stay a little while. We have deer, fox, raccoons, and a variety of birds. We also have horses in the pasture next to the Cottage who love attention and treats. You can sit on the porch in the morning with your coffee and watch the horses graze, or sit by the fire pit and look at the stars at night. Relax and stay awhile!
