🚨Prior to Booking🚨
1. We charge a $150 pet fee for one dog under 80lbs. Sorry, but no other pets are allowed. Dogs are welcome only from September to May.
2. Unfortunately, Vrbo doesn’t let us offer discounts. To keep things fair, we set our base rates below market value for small groups. For parties larger than 4, there’s an additional $50/night per person. This way, small groups pay less, and larger groups still get a good deal.
3. Double-check all the details before booking—dates, number of guests, and pets (if applicable)—so all fees are calculated correctly from the get-go.

My sister, nieces, nephew and I enjoyed our stay. The fireplace, lake view, sauna, and extra bunkhouse were thoroughly enjoyed. We had some shoreline free of ice to do the polar plunge, and then run to the sauna. The property is spacious, and stars were amazing!
Overall this is a beautiful property - the views of the lake can't be beat. The cabin provided everything you need except groceries!!! Owners were very responsive. The book at the cabin had all the details. If you love lake living this is a great place!
Beautiful property right on the water. They have kayaks that we used and a sauna! They have two large cabins and plenty of beds. Very clean. Super quiet so if you want a relaxing vacation, here’s the spot. I definitely recommend.
Also the hosts were really good at communicating and nice.
It worked perfectly for our large group , nice lake but it is a weedy lake , the littles loved the beach area , over all great place but needs a deep cleaning and the light in the main bathroom was difficult to turn on it was very touchy but it didn’t take away from the memories made
Has Great Potential But Needs Some Love & Elbow Grease
Our adult family enjoyed the lake and the large yard during our week long stay. The provided supplies and linens in the homes were great for a vacation rental. The newly added AC units were a pleasant surprise during our stay in July. We have/had some concerns with the cleanliness and the upkeep of some key items in the main house that the mgmt company appears to be taking seriously.
The lot and area that this cabin was on is beautiful. It was very nice to have a second cabin and the sauna was great. There does seem to be some maintenance needed on several areas of the cabin, such as the screen door did not close and it had holes in the screen. The kitchen could use some better utensils and organization also.
Property was what we were looking for. Beautiful fall colors with a good view and cozy atmosphere. Very nice towels and linens with a well stocked supply of pans, utensils, etc. in the kitchen. We did not have enough time to use the sauna, but it looked great. Loved all the essential oils, same brand I use at home. Michelle answered our texts immediately and was very accommodating.
We spent two weeks here in the winter. It was a much-needed retreat away from the city. We spent the morning sipping coffee before the beautiful stone fireplace, afternoons in the sauna, and evenings grilling.
The cabin was fully equipped with extra towels and blankets, and games. The kitchen e was great, and we enjoyed having extra room in the guest cabin to work or read silently.
The location was beautiful, and the ice started to melt while we were there, and we could hear it.
Plenty of firewood!
Great escape!
Is not ADA comparable. Wheel chair able to get in to bunk house only. No hand railing in bathroom no accessible shower or tub. Main house not wheel chair accessable. Must have ramp to access main house kitchen and living room only

Dear Vernon,
I am deeply disheartened by your recent review, especially in light of our exhaustive efforts to accommodate your needs. As previously discussed prior to your booking, we provided detailed measurements of each doorway and explicitly clarified that the property is not ADA compliant. Additionally, we emphasized the necessity for you to personally evaluate the compatibility based on the provided information. In response, you made the trip into town where we met at the property for 30 minutes to facilitate your own assessment.
You expressed enthusiasm, indicating that the property would be suitable for your son who uses a wheelchair, and we eagerly anticipated your reservation.
Our commitment to accommodating all guests remains steadfast, although it is important to note that our listing does not advertise ADA compliance. Realistically, it is unlikely that any lakeside cabin in the northern region would meet such standards.
Given the considerable efforts made to address your specific requirements and the ample opportunity afforded to you for a personal evaluation, it is with a sense of disappointment that I convey my view. Your review seems both unjust and a misrepresentation of our property.

Not our favorite 😔
The pictures online looked perfect for our family stay, but unfortunately the maintenance was just not up to our standards. All the amenities were very outdated, but to be fair they had a lot of items to use. The exterior of the cabin was full of cobwebs and bugs. There are holes in screens and the main door facing the lake had no screen at all. This was our biggest issue of all, as the weather was perfect and we wanted to enjoy the breeze and fresh air off the lake. Our trade-off was letting in flies and some mosquitoes. The sauna wasn’t working and should be noted or taken off the listing. There is no TV for families of small kids to enjoy or getting comfy and cozy for a movie if you should wish. The main cabin TV is in the corner of the kitchen. The guest house TV did not work for streaming or watching DVDs. The guest house was the best sleeping accommodations on the property. Clean and cute!! The ping-pong table was our favorite activity on site and we had a blast with a family tournament!! The property itself is great and there’s so much potential for future visitors if they just spend a little bit of time/money updating. Host is fantastic for recommendations and communication!!

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the ping-pong tournament and found the guest house cozy and cute—it's a favorite spot for many!
You’re absolutely right, we’ve got a bit of a rustic charm going on here at the cabin, and with it, a few cobwebs and critters that like to join the party. We recently had a pretty wild storm with hail and even a tornado that tore through the area, so our beloved cabin took a bit of a beating. Some screens are still on the mend, and we appreciate your patience as we spruce things back up.
Regarding the sauna, it was working perfectly until a previous guest decided to test its durability (spoiler: it didn’t pass the test). We're working on getting it back in shape, and I’ll definitely make sure it’s noted in the listing.
As for the TV situation, we’ve got an Apple TV installed with all the streaming services, though I totally get that it’s not quite the home theater experience! The TV is a Chromecast brand which is universal. We do have instructions in the Guest Book on how to stream from any mobile device directly to the TV which is perfect for kids!
Thanks for your kind words about our communication—glad to hear the recommendations were helpful! We’re always looking to improve, and your feedback gives us some great ideas for future updates. We hope to welcome you back someday when we’ve added a few more modern touches to our rustic retreat.
