Location and beach access are excellent. Smaller than expected with low ceilings. Loft upstairs is not a loft but more of a crawl space. Needs interior paint. Hot tub is private and clean. Sound of the waves was priceless. Pet friendly. I would stay again for sure but may choose a larger unit. Owner was very responsive.

The property is on the beach, but you don't have direct access to the beach from the deck. This is not a serious issue because it's a short walk to the common access point. However, it is also positioned next to an abandoned building in poor repair, which is not a pleasant view.
The property is very clean, good communication and comfortable beyond our minor concerns listed above.
After attempting to lock our door several times with the instructions from the host on our first day,,, we were unable to lock the door from either the inside or outside. Someone finally showed up on our second day and attempted to fix the door lock, which was not successful. The operating instructions that was given to us by the host were not correct and was for someone else’s lock, and the host knew this. Our entire vacation we were unable to lock our front door. The host said it was too difficult to get a locksmith out due to the holiday weekend (Memorial Day) and that there were cameras outside and the assured us we’d be safe. However, at 2:30 in the morning we were woken to a truck dumping its garbage in the dumpster just outside our rental, this person wasn’t staying at the location and drove off. I’m doubtful we will ever return after this experience.

Hello,
I'm disheartened to see such a negative review. I had reached out to you IMMEDIATELY once you brought the issue to my attention. (saturday at 4:50pm) I explained to you that I had sent you incorrect information about the lock. I sent you the correct way to ensure the door is locked and you responded at 9:20 pm to let me know it still was not locking. These locks lock automatically and the deadbolt(thumb turn) must must be turned upright in order for it to lock automatically. If you turn it sideways, it becomes a manual lock and can only be locked/unlocked with a key. As you mentioned, I had one of my staff head over and change the batteries the next morning as it was already too late at 9pm Sat and my staff had left. The lock did not need to be fixed, but my assumption was that the batteries may have been dead. Which they were not. I mentioned that I could not get a locksmith out to fix it, not because I was not willing or too "difficult", but because none of the locksmiths I reached out to would come out due to the Holiday weekend. There are only a handful of locksmiths in the area (remote location).
Also, I had Betty, one of my other staff, go and check to on the status of the door and she confirmed that the door was in fact locked. She contacted me at 1:30 pm to let me know she was waiting for you to return to show you personally how to ensure the door locks properly. She left Sunday at 4pm (as that was the end of her shift) and you had not returned.
I will admit that my instructions for the check in (including how to lock the door) was incorrect and I have since updated it.
I understand the frustration, however I did everything in my power to assist you and ensure you felt safe.
