We enjoyed our stay at Buck—it’s a quaint and calming retreat with a beautiful nature backdrop. The scenery was just what we needed for a peaceful weekend. We chose to stay outside the city to celebrate our daughter’s college graduation, and the location was perfect—not too far from the ceremony, but far enough to feel completely off the grid. It offered a great balance of convenience and serenity.
Super easy access and check in. Beautiful view of the river and the STAGE! We were rained out from the concert and came back to the balcony and watched the remainder of the show. We will book this one again!
We were a bit weary of booking this. Generally things are not as nice as they appear. This is not the case. This property was even nicer than we could’ve imagined. Very spacious. Had all the necessary items in the kitchen to make delicious meals, plus a grill. If we ever come back to the area, this is where we will stay. Only down side is the spa outside does not get very warm.
Even though we only got to stay to sleep, checking in after 10:30PM after a wedding and leaving the next morning by 9AM it was well worth it. Looked to be a brand new place, beds were really comfortable memory foam, untouched bunk beds upstairs had their own TVs and headsets. Out back was hot tub, grills, games, etc. We will most certainly be looking for this place again the next time we come to Birmingham especially if we have the kids with us next time.
We stopped by for one evening on our drive from the Midwest to Flordia for spring break. Little did we know how wonderful this stop over would be! Jai was a wonderful property manager, communicated with us often and early. The property was so clean and spacious. The hot tub was amazing! We loved walking through old Helena. The train is very close but the walls were thick and it was charming. We loved our stay!

Amazing place minus trains and neighbors.
The suite was really nice and very clean. It was designed very well and such a good idea for a bnb. The outdoor space was really great and provided a cool space to hang out with the family.
The only downsides of the space were the very very thin walls. We stayed here because of a local softball tournament so we had to be up at 5am. The group next to us had a lot of people over for a birthday party I think, the noise carried into our bedroom which kept us up later than we needed to be.
The bnb also sits between 2 train tracks. We were not aware of this when we booked, we probably would have chosen a different place had we known that there would be multiple trains come through during the night, waking us up. Super inconvenient when we had to be up so early.
Overall the place was well kept and the host was fantastic, just not an ideal location for what we needed.
Amazing place! They thought of everything and the town is cute too with a restaurant(depot deli and grill) and nano brewery(oversoul brewing) within walking distance. Everything looked new and clean. The outdoor deck area has a put put hole, cornhole, giant connect 4, fire pit and hot tub(not hot in summer, so more like a little pool). The bathrooms have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and lotion. Kitchen is fully stocked for all cooking needs. Had a couple small bottles of dish soap, sponge, a couple packages of laundry detergent, a couple packages of coffee for the pot, couple back up trash bags, etc. Truly great! My one suggestion would be to let people know you won’t receive the check in info until right before check in time(1 hour before for us). I’m a planner so I was getting super nervous that they didn’t tell me that and we were traveling from out of state with a family of 5. Central time zone by the way. Overall, loved this place and would definitely stay again!
Stayed here as a family of 5- my brother stayed with his family of 3 in another unit. We were in town for my dad’s birthday celebration. The property is beautiful- the outside area in back was amazing for our family to gather and the kids to play. The putt putt and floor jenga and other games kept them so entertained. Everything was fenced in so the safety was an added bonus. The water views with the cafe lights were so pretty. Loved the fireplace too. Check in was easy although first door code didn’t work. But a quick text and immediate response got us inside. Unit had everything you could need and more. Our twins loved having their own space up in the loft. The astronaut night light was a cute touch and they loved their tvs. Our mattress was so comfortable. Walls were pretty thin and one night a bridal party checked in after 9pm and were so loud I was afraid we weren’t going to be able to sleep. Either they settled down or my melatonin kicked in bc I fell asleep and didn’t notice them again until morning. You can hear the train but again, it wasn’t enough to ruin an entire night of sleep. We walked around the area surrounding the property and went down to the creek. It was so quaint and historic. Would definitely recommend this spot if you want more space to stretch out and you’re visiting this particular area. We would certainly stay here again.
The BNB is gorgeous on the inside but was infested (at least 40 at the entrance of our door) with what we were told were lovebugs on the outside. They were huge and flew into our shirts, hair, our luggage as well as inside of the house. We were told there was nothing they could do and Welcome to Alabama. This place is a wonderful spot but that needs to be addressed.
