Located in the heart of the downtown Savannah “Starland” Arts District, this European cottage is footsteps away from over 40 local shops, bars, restaurants, and music venues. After exploring the historic districts, relax in this brand new space inspired by old world artistry — Such as the antique clawfoot tub, perfect for a bubble bath, or take a nap in the photo-worthy William Morris bedrooms. You’ll feel like you’ve taken a trip back in time to when the old world was new in this quaint space!
Modern amenities with this European style cottage that merge old world and new. There are two bedrooms each with a queen size bed, cordless phone chargers on top of alarm clocks, eco friendly soaps, and a pullout couch downstairs in living room with full size mattress. Two bedroom one bathroom house that comfortably sleeps up to five guests.
Relax after a day of exploring Savannah in the perfectly restored antique clawfoot tub or a take a shower in the lux ceiling mounted rain shower. We are both originally from North Carolina. We relocated to Savannah in 2021 and set out to build our dream home which was a love letter to all things Savannah. After two years of construction, we completed Verdant House in 2023. We live in the main house and rent our carriage house, called The Cottage at Verdant House, to our guests from around the globe. Verdant House was designed by us and was our first ever experience designing a home from the ground up. We are so proud to be able to host folks and share what we've created with them as they visit beautiful historic Savannah!
Why they chose this property
We love our neighborhood because it's Savannah Arts District. Aside from living in an amazingly diverse community of amazing folks we love that we can walk to so many local shops and restaurants. We counted nearly 50 that are all within a 15 minute or less walk from our property! Fun fact: Southern Living and Travel and Leisure magazines have both recognized our neighborhood (Thomas Square / Starland) as one of the best in the south on multiple occasions.
What makes this property unique
Our property is unique in so many ways. Initially, it stands out as being one of the very few new construction properties in downtown Savannah. With that aside, one of the most special elements of the property is its charm. This property, although new, was designed in a way that infuses the southern charm that Savannah is known for while anticipating what our guests would wish for to make their experience exceptional. Every square foot of the space is infused with charm and craftsmanship. We want our guest to feel as though they have taken a trip back in time so we brought in so many handmade elements from across the globe -- from the door knobs, to the cabinetry and the wallpaper -- every detail will make you feel like your in a boutique hotel. This level of detail isn't common and we take great pride in sharing it with our guests.
