A WEEK IN PARADISE
I cannot say enough good things about our week at Lime Acre. This historic plantation house has been beautifully maintained, and is comfortable and inviting. But we hardly spent anytime inside because of its beautiful situation on an incredible expanse of waterfront, with a private cove and dock, an amazing pool where you can enjoy the views and lounge comfortably, and beautiful gardens with hammocks and chaise loungers. Each day brought a tough decision - which first? Beach or Pool? The home and grounds are equipped with everything you might need: bug spray, puzzles, games, decks of cards, floats for the pool, plenty of towels, goggles, life vests, two kayaks, two paddle boards, a giant ocean bike and plenty of snorkeling equipment. We wanted for nothing.
But the highlight was truly the amazing staff. We were treated like royalty for the week. Nigel and Aldeen prepared amazing meals that catered to our pescatarian ways. We loved enjoying local specialties - many grown in the garden - such as breadfruit, fresh mango, ackee and Johnny cakes. The housekeepers kept our rooms ship shape, and the groundskeepers did the same for the beach, pool area and gardens. Spraggo was so incredibly kind to my children, and helped us with kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, and shared is garden with us on a special tour. And our hats are off to Dujon, who was an amazing butler. He was always at the ready with water, and made delicious mojitos, margaritas, sangria and rum punches for sunset. We loved wondering where he would set up the table next, and enjoyed dining in so many beautiful areas on the property. We particularly loved the celebration they threw for my daughter's 15th birthday (complete with sparklers and disco lights!), and the bonfire and roasted marshmallows on our last night.
We will be back. It was an amazing week and I am so thankful to have had a chance to experience Lime Acre Villa.
