A unique retreat on the west coast of the island of Ischia.

Villa Giò is the perfect retreat for nature lovers, who seek the tranquility of whispering trees, the melody of chirping birds, and the calming sound of the sea.

The villa is situated on the extremity of foothills called Punto Caruso, where nearby we have the Negombo Thermal Gardens, and the Mortella Botanic Gardens. It is also near Forio city centre and Lacco Ameno. In the West, at the extreme tip of Punta Caruso Park.

The villa is set in grounds of 4000 m2 with gardens, a wood of holm oaks and Mediterranean maquis that slope down towards a cliff with access to the sea. From the villa, paths spread out through the wood to lead to extraordinary rock formations and fabulous corners of paradise, from where you can admire the sunset and a breathtaking view of the beaches of San Francesco and Forio.

Recently fully renovated, the building has an area of approximately 120 m2 and is spread over two levels.
The interior of the villa is on two floors and can host 6 people. On the ground floor is the living room with a fireplace, a winter garden, a fully equipped kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom. On the upper floor there are two bedrooms, both with private bathrooms.
Surrounding the house there is a large garden with equipped areas, a barbecue and an outdoor living room. On the upper terrace of the garden there is the swimming pool (which is filled with seawater and is ONLY in operation from May to October) and a six place Jacuzzi with sea view. The house has private access to the sea.

Such a special property! So many comfy places to sit and relax. The paths along the rocks/shore were fun to explore. Gio was a great host and left a lot of provisions in the kitchen. The Prosecco toast upon arrival was a great touch!

Wow! What a beautiful spot with an amazing host!! We started our visit with some prosecco and a private chef who made the most delicious meal!! This views are just breathtaking!! We were able to walk to Negomba spa and into Lacco Ameno. We only had 3 nights but wish we had longer!!! The sunsets are priceless

Beautiful and tranquil property.

This property is beautiful, clean, and very quiet. Perfect if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle. Anything that you might need is a short taxi ride away. The private beach is perfect with crystal clear waters. It is really a beautul getaway and we plan on renting it again!

Wonderful, clean accommodations. Gorgeous setting on the edge of the sea! Responsive host. You definitely need a car. The driveway is not for the faint of heart however! Beautiful sunsets and cute cats. We went off season but were still able to enjoy the hot tub.

Perfect Honeymoon Spot

The pictures, incredible as they are, don't do this place justice! Staying here is having your own private, welll-cared for, exotic ocean-font retreat.Between the infinity pool and hot tub both overlooking the ocean, we could have never left the property and had a fantastic and satisfying time on our first trip to the island of Ischia, but one of the other best parts of this listing, is precisely its location on this delightful island.While here, definitely rent a smart car or scooter, or otherwise get out to the nearby Poseidon Thermal Garden with its unparalleled sauna, natural hot springs and cold plunges. Also, be sure to visit Porti di Agarta, the restaurant near the top of the mountain in the center of the island and literally one of the best restaurants I have ever experienced in my life.As for the hosts, Lorenzo went far above and beyond for us after a communication mishap with our rental car company, and I could not be more grateful.The place was well stocked, impeccably clean, and stunning inside and out. I'm so glad this was available when I needed it; I could not imagine our honeymoon without it.

Idyllic spot in Ishcian coast with beautiful views.

We are a family of adults/teens. We had a lovely restful stay. We enjoyed the outdoor areas and the pool area. It’s very private. The sunsets were lovely. The house is comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed the addition of a cat family. You’ll need some form of transport as its quiet location means you’ll need it. There is a walk from the car park area to the house downhill, not for high heels! The owners were very helpful to us with anything we needed and went above and beyond when I lost my sunglasses! We appreciated and enjoyed the pantry items left. We recommend this place, it’s very peaceful. We would have liked longer, but alas had to leave. The island of Ishcia is great, we enjoyed a boat trip and the local Mortella gardens.

We had a fabulous time at Gio’s amazing house. So beautiful and quiet with only a short walk down to the rocks at the bottom of the garden allowing you to jump straight into the sea, but the villa also came with a salt water pool and jacuzzi. Gio filled the fridge with wine and Prosecco and a bowl of home grown vegetables and fruit. The zucchini and tomatoes kept coming through the week. When necessary he fixed or replaced anything we needed. If you want to relax immediately then this is the place. The cat family were great but so scared of us even though we fed them. The kittens were so cute. We would love to return. Gio is definitely the host with the most. Thank you so much from us all. We loved it xxx

Delightful Easter Break

The photos on the website are wonderful but nothing can prepare you for the reality. The location of Villa Gio is perfect, totally private, not overlooked, set in beautiful landscaped grounds looking out over the sea. The house is tastefully decorated with everything you could possibly need. We had warm days and stormy days but there is always a spot in the house to feel cosy and look out over the incredible views. At sunset it is unforgettable. Outside there are so many perfect areas to sit and relax. The jacuzzi was great - freshly filled and the perfect temperature. Giovanni was a superb host and dealt with any questions or issues promptly and efficiently. He welcomed us with Prosecco and a well stocked fridge and larder. We had robes and slippers waiting on our beds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Villa Gio in Ischia, and would love to return.

In One Word: Perfection!

WOW. This place truly is a little piece of heaven and hidden gem. The pictures don't do it justice. Not only was the villa amazing and very spacious (it could easily sleep 7), but there are also no other houses in sight! It seems like you have the whole island to yourself. The sunsets were amazing and the best I've ever seen, right outside our door at the villa. And the owner, Gio, was so nice and accommodating! He reserved a car for us so we would have transportation when we arrived, he met us a the ferry port (we took the ferry from Naples to Ischia) and personally drove us to the villa, AND when we arrived at the villa the fridge and kitchen were stocked with all the essentials (eggs, milk, olive oil, even a few bottles of wine!). Plus Gio gave us many tips about what to do on the island, where to visit, his favorite restaurants, etc. And if we had any questions throughout our stay, we were able to call him directly and he was there to help. I can't say enough great things about this place: the owner, the views, the overall experience was just perfect! We will definitely be returning to Villa Gio sometime soon! Thank you again Gio for all of your help and sharing your piece of heaven with us!

Absolutely magnificent villa on glorious Ischia

We fell head over heels in love with our Ischia villa. Known all over the island as Villa Gio, it is beautifully situated, with stunning views of craggy rocks, breathtaking foliage, and miles and miles of glittering, sparkling sea. Gio has decorated it with impeccable taste, and every room is spacious, comfortable, and elegant. The air conditioners in the bedrooms work beautifully, the showers are great, the beds are all very nice. And Gio is the kindest of hosts: We got lost at first finding the place, and he came right out and rescued us on his motorcycle, leading us to the villa and making us at home with a glass of Prosecco. He filled the house with food, wine and beer so that we didn't have to go shopping that first night. He gave us great tips on restaurants, boat trips, the best thermal baths, and a charming and knowledgeable hiking guide (his niece!) who took us up Mount Epomeo. Though we found the drive into the villa a little daunting at first (if we had it to do over, we'd have rented a smaller car), we got used to it rapidly, and we couldn't have asked for a more lovely spot for exploring gorgeous Ischia. We went off and explored the island every day but we loved coming home to the villa, cooling off in the jacuzzi, watching the exquisite sunsets, grilling food, and taking pictures of the delightful family of cats that would always wander by and visit us. It was a heavenly vacation and we can't thank Gio enough for being the most perfect of hosts. We hope to return!

Pura Paradiso!

When my husband and I discovered Villa Gio on VRBO, we knew that it would be the perfect place for our 2-week stay in Ischia. And when we arrived, we immediately knew that we had made the perfect choice. Situated on a quiet and tranquil promontory, the secluded property is beautiful, lush and sprawling with a variety of different sitting, dining and entertaining areas terraced into the hillside. The property is gated and walled for ultimate privacy and security. And although it’s only a mile from the town of Forio, it feels like it’s miles away from its hustle and bustle. The villa is as pretty and as comfortable as the photos suggest. Its rustic charm, with beamed ceilings and a large fireplace, is undeniable. Two of the bedrooms have private terraces with views of the water, the third has a delightful bathroom featuring a shower with windows that open up to view the garden below. Also, there is a well-maintained hot tub and an outdoor shower conveniently located on a very private upper terrace. Downstairs there is an indoor dining room, as well as an outdoor dining area off the kitchen with a great wood-burning grill. But our favorite spot was undeniably the covered terrace at the front of the property which made for the perfect sunset-viewing vantage point. From there, it’s also fun to watch the ferries go by and the sunbathers on the rocks below. Villa Gio is ideally positioned for a nice walk to the beautiful Giardini La Mortella and/or Negombo Beach. Otherwise, you will need a car or moped for all your other adventures. Each day, we went out exploring the island and dining out, but at night we chose to stay in and cook. The kitchen at Villa Gio is fully equipped with everything needed. And staying home allowed us the opportunity to enjoy the incredible sunsets that dramatically light up the sky every evening. Gio has missed no opportunity to provide his guests with the ultimate hospitality and the best possible experience from beginning to end. Upon our arrival, the kitchen was stocked with fresh fruit, tomatoes, a loaf bread, chilled beers and Prosecco, and much more. A very welcome sight after our long journey. There are guest bathrobes in every bedroom and thoughtful touches everywhere. Additionally, Gio is an amazing host, always quick with a recommendation for a great restaurant or unique outing. When our two weeks were up, we were sad to leave Villa Gio. We will definitely be returning and wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else!

A Quiet, Romantic and Private Island Getaway

First, allow me to say that Gio is one of the most extraordinary hosts my wife and I have ever encountered - warm, friendly, responsive, helpful, generous, and more. It's not possible to overstate his hospitality and responsiveness. My wife and I love to travel and have stayed at too many short-term rentals and hotels to count. We have never encountered hospitality as lovely as Gio's, anywhere! Second, this villa is a hidden gem. The charming house has most all of the amenities that you would ever need. It is completely private and occupies one of the most ideal and desireable positions along the coast. There are numerous different outdoor sitting and dining spaces with expansive views, particularly at sunset. Inside, the rooms are comfortable and unique. We definitely look forward to returning!

FANTASTICO!!!

My husband and I spent four weeks here. Everything about Villa Gio was perfect. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the very friendly and enthusiastic owner who was ever so helpful, provided basic staples to get us started....and proposed a welcome toast with a lovely prosecco. What a fabulous way to start a holiday! The villa was very well equipped; from the kitchen to the bedrooms and baths. Sofas and chairs were very comfortable and the mattresses of good quality. With two bedrooms on the second floors, there is ample privacy and space for two couples. Outdoors there were several sitting areas with chairs, chaises and tables, along with a delightful jacuzzi. All and all, Villa Geo is a gem. It's casual yet cozy, warm and inviting. We can't wait to return!

Lovely escape for a group of friends

My husband and I rented this house with a group of two other couples for a week and were delighted with our stay. First, Gianni is a wonderfully responsive and responsible owner, who helped us endlessly on our first trip to Ischia with everything we could consider- car rental, restaurant recommendations, and other activities. The house itself was exactly what we had wished for- plenty of private outdoor space, beautiful views of the water, a well- equipped kitchen. Forio and Lacco Ameno are either short drives away or about 20 minute walk. The lovely Gardini La Mortella are also about a 10 minute walk from the house. We highly recommend this property and Gianni!

Paradise!

It was our first time using VRBO and renting a property. After seeing the photos I was immediately struck by the views. We were not disappointed! On arrival we were greeted by Gio, who had baskets of food and fruit waiting for us with a glass of wine to toast the beginning of our stay. He as described by other guests was incredibly helpful with arranging the car, boat rental and recommending and reserving restaurants. The house is simple and charming it is also situated on a cliff overlooking the water. Definitely bring water shoes to navigate the rocks down to the water. We mostly spent the days around the island, but there was one day we spent entirely at the house. Cooking a wonderful barbecue in the outdoor oven/grill and swimming in the waters below. Gio was a wonderful host and we will definitely be back!

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus liegt einsam auf einer kleinen Landzunge. Man hat direkten Zugang zu einer kleinen steinigen Bucht. Das Haus ist sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der Garten bietet neben dem Jacuzzy viele romantische Gelegenheiten, den Sonnenuntergang zu genießen. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir können das Objekt uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Can’t speak highly enough of our host. He met us at the port, sorted us out with a car and then escorted us to the villa. Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit auf Ischia. Das Ferienhaus lässt keine Wünsche offen und steht an einem wirklich schönen Standort. Wir haben uns rundum Wohlgefühlt und egal an welcher Stelle man auf dem Grundstück war, man hatte immer ein wirklich tollen Blick aufs Meer. Und trotz der gefühlten Abgeschiedenheit, konnte man ganz schnell im Trubel von Forio sein, wenn das wollte. Herzlich dank nochmal und wir kommen gerne wieder

Ein Stück vom Paradies

Ein Traum Domizil mit fantastischem Meerblick und einem charmanten Besitzer. Danke Gio! Schon der Empfang mit gefülltem Kühlschrank, üppiger Obst und Gemüseschale, kühl gestellten Wein, lies uns sofort in Urlaubsstimmung abtauchen. Noch dazu dieser unendliche Meerblick, ein liebevoll gestaltetes Haus, ein schön mediterraner Garten mit etlichen Sitzmöglichkeiten und immer wieder neue Ausblicke aufs Meer sowie in Richtung Forio. Gerne sind wir hinunter gegangen, um ins Meer zu springen. Das Domizil liegt ideal um Ruhe zu finden und zügig alle Ausflugsmöglichkeiten zu erreichen. Unsere Fragen wurden immer schnell und mit zusätzlichen Tipps von Giovanni beantwortet. Wir reisten als vier Erwachsene mit zwei Kindern. Für die Erwachsenen stehen zwei Schlafzimmer mit eigenem Bad und für die Kinder ein zusätzliches Zimmer ebenfalls mit eigenem Bad zu Verfügung. Alles ist gepflegt und sauber. Auch in der Küche haben wir alles vorgefunden. Wir grüßen die Hausmöwe verbunden mit einem herzlichen Dank an Giovanni für diesen unvergesslichen Urlaub.
