Waterfront Cottage at Hudson Creek - Cozy Year-Round Retreat
Welcome to The Cottage at Hudson Creek — a cozy waterfront retreat with its own private boat ramp and a large, newly built pier right on the property. Launch your own boat from the private ramp or enjoy the water with our provided toys: two one‑person kayaks, two brand‑new paddleboards, and two crab pots for guests who want to try catching fresh Chesapeake blue crabs.
For crab feasts, we provide two portable folding tables and all the accessories needed for steaming and enjoying your catch. The dock also includes holders for two market umbrellas, giving you shade while you relax by the water. Additional outdoor amenities include a natural firepit, cornhole, tiki lamps, many foldable chairs, two adult bikes (with a small electric air compressor if needed), and two charcoal grills — one large and one small.
Inside the main cottage, you’ll find two upstairs bedrooms — one with a queen bed and one with a full. The living room includes a queen sleep sofa, and the full bath is conveniently located on the first floor. The home also features a full‑size stacked washer and dryer, a well‑equipped kitchen, a screened‑in front porch, a large Smart TV with DVD player and a nice assortment of movies, plus free WiFi.
The carriage house studio adds extra flexibility with a queen sleep sofa, full bath, mini‑fridge, microwave, Keurig, large Smart TV, free WiFi, and its own outdoor shower. The patio includes a table, chairs, and a cantilever umbrella for shaded outdoor lounging.
We provide all paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissues, table napkins, and two sizes of trash bags) as well as cleaning essentials including dish soap, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, and table/counter cleaners.
Hudson Wharf Road is located about 9 miles from Cambridge — close enough to enjoy restaurants, galleries, and shops, yet far enough to take in the peaceful sights and sounds of wildlife along Hudson Creek. With only open land across from the dock, the views are wide, quiet, and beautifully natural. The house itself was built by shipbuilders back in the day, adding a touch of Eastern Shore history and charm.
This peaceful escape offers comfort in every season — perfect for summer adventures, autumn getaways, winter quiet, and spring exploring. It’s also an ideal spot for hunters during the fall and winter seasons, offering privacy, easy access to local hunting areas, and a warm, cozy place to unwind after a long day outdoors.

Thank you for sharing your space with us, we had a lovely stay at the Waterfront Property. Very homey decor. The carriage house was very nicely built! Everything was well equipped and comfortable! We enjoyed time on the Kayaks and on the back patio during morning and sunset, saw a few cool birds! Thank you. **However, the stairs in the main house were tricky, with no railing- could be difficult for those with mobility issues or need bathroom during the night. **
Charming cozy property, serene location. Only draw back was the power outage caused by bad weather. When the power is out so is the water and toilets. The owner was quick to contact Delmarva power company, however it was 8 hours before energy was restored. This was of course at no fault of the owner. Overall the property is well kept and clean.
What a beautiful home/property. You will not go wrong booking this place! The cottage house is a super plus!! Fishing, crabbing, biking.....what a wonderful getaway. Janelle, was super friendly and communicated quickly with any questions I had! The house has EVERYTHING from kitchen/ bathroom to beach towels!
Definitely will be back to this oasis,

We had an amazing 3-night, 4-day getaway! The home was warm, inviting, and had everything we needed—from a fully stocked kitchen to well-supplied bathrooms. We appreciated the variety of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided—such a thoughtful touch. We caught plenty of crabs and fish during our stay, which made for a fun and memorable experience. The kids had a blast using the paddle boards! Kayaks and bikes were also available, though we didn’t get a chance to use them this time around.Anne and Heather were excellent hosts—very responsive and easy to communicate with. This is a fantastic rental property, and we’d love to stay here again in the future! Highly recommended.

The inside of the house was not clean, cobwebs and dead bugs, and the musty, wet smell was attempted to be covered up by multiple plug in air fresheners which made it so much worse!!! The bathroom had hair all over the walls and there was too many of the owners products taking up the space in the tub. When you walk into the front porch the ceiling fan is falling down and could potentially hurt someone. The tiny staircase going to the second floor where the bedrooms were was so narrow and difficult to maneuver, we had a hard time getting suitcases up there. There really should be a picture of the staircase in the add for this property. The refrigerator was dirty and not wiped out from the last people. I have rented several VRBO’s and this by far was the worst!!! We made it through all of this but very disappointing!!! I am not sure how this is a premiere host property!!! The carriage house was very nice and clean. Nicest part of the property and the dock was nice too.

I am sorry your experience was not a pleasant one. This is the first time we have had such a negative review. I will certainly take everything to heart and try to do better.
As for the products in the bathroom, they are not ours, they are for use of our guests.

Great little cottage for families & young people
This is a lovely little cottage, nicely decorated and well-appointed with everything you need. The kayaks even have crab traps and bushels strapped on for crabbing. Everything is as described, with a nice dock. The kitchen is well supplied and easy to use, with a Keurig (bring your own pods) and a Mr. Coffee with filters. The property is on a cove, with other houses close by.
The issue for us was the staircase to the upstairs bedrooms, with low clearance and a sharp turn, so the stairs were tiny and wedge-shaped. We decided it was too hard to haul suitcases up & down, so we left our suitcases in the small living room. (Didn't want to sleep on either pull-out couch.) The upstairs beds were adequate. There is just one bathroom in the main house, and it is downstairs, so if you get up during the night, you have to negotiate the tricky stairs.
We had a few communication issues, not getting the key code on time, but I think it is a new listing, and the owners will probably become more responsive. They are more reachable by phone than by messaging (phone # is in the "keys" email). Also the key lockbox was difficult to open, and at one point the wifi stopped working (perhaps due to nearby storms?). Restarting the router didn't help.
I think this would be a great place for younger people and families, but it was a bit trying for my brother and I, who are 60+.
