The Shady Knoll ~ Crater Lake Basecamp ~ Hot tub ~ King Suite
Unwind on a fenced, gated acre just up from the Rogue River. Soak in the private hot tub under the stars — it's open year-round — while string lights stretch across the huge lawn and the deck and BBQ round out the outdoor space. The updated home has a split floor plan for real privacy: the primary suite is the showpiece, with a king bed, oversized walk-in closet, and an incredible walk-in tile shower with rainfall and body-spray heads. The second bedroom has a queen bed and its own private bath. Come winter, the cozy pellet stove turns the living room into the warmest spot in the Rogue Valley.
Both bedrooms have dedicated workspaces and verified fast wifi (150+ Mbps) — remote work actually works here. The kitchen is large and fully stocked, with an induction cooktop, new appliances, and stocked with the essentials and coffee for slow mornings on the deck.
Anglers and rafters: park your drift boat, raft, or trailer inside our locked gate at no charge. You're minutes from world-class Spring Chinook, Summer Steelhead, and Fall Chinook water, with gentle Class 1–2 rafting outfitters right in town. Lost Creek Lake is 10 minutes up the road, Table Rocks hikes are about 25, and Medford is 30. Head upriver toward Prospect and you're in waterfall country — Mill Creek Falls, Barr Creek Falls, Natural Bridge, and National Creek Falls are all easy hikes on the way to Crater Lake National Park, about an hour from your door.
Wine lovers are in the heart of the Rogue Valley region, with tasting rooms scattered through Sam's Valley, the Applegate Valley, Medford, and Ashland. Save an evening for Ashland (~50 min) for the food scene and world-class theater at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Oregon Cabaret.
Sleeping: king bed, queen bed, plus a couch and air mattress in the living room for a 5th and 6th guest.

We loved everything about the house! Cozy beds, open concept living area, large shower, complete kitchen, location, bbq and the holiday vibe for December.
It’s an amazing place to stay. Very close to town but you get the peace you want. Hot tub was great all the dishes we had at our place were excellent. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you.
We had everything we would possibly need. The house was very nicely laid out and we spent a lot of time on the back deck. Saw turkeys and a family of deer in the yard. Would definitely stay again.
Really nice and quiet. Plus shady cove is a nice town. Great spot for fishing, hiking and some golf. As advertised.

This is a wonderful house to stay, over our expectation. Everything was good. We love the place! Very comfortable and very beautiful. We had breakfast in the deck, very impressive.
Other than a tea kettle, the kitchen was fully equipped and clean. Enjoyed the quietness and tranquility at this location. Having a pellet stove was ideal to warm the house up. In another opportunity, i would stay here again.
The Shady Knoll is a modern, clean and well-equipped house for cooking or cocktails on the patio with a hot tub. Watch the wildlife go by and enjoy the beautiful area. The owner was great at communication and was very helpful. We'd love to come back and check out the different seasons.
This property was an excellent set up with two bedrooms with en suites. The house had lots of kitchen supplies, games and a nice outside area. The owner was very responsive and checked in with us to see if we needed anything. We would definitely return.

Thanks for the great review, Marci! We are so glad you enjoyed the home and your stay. Please come back anytime!
It was a good stay, loved the shower, and kitchen. The HotTub was kinda a joke. But it is what it is. Loved the property. The beds were wonderful and had everything you need. The stove was confusing, but great.
Hi there! My name is Jack. I am a native Oregonian. Home is in Southern OR, originally from Bend OR. I have a sweet pup who loves to adventure with me. If I'm not working or doing house projects, I like to hike, camp, boat, ski, or pretty much anything outdoors! I also enjoy cooking, wine tasting, socializing with friends, and a good movie or book! I am passionate about traveling and sharing culture and experiences.
