The house is adorable and extremely comfortable. Both my husband and I were obsessed with the bed and the amazing wrap around porch. Everything in the house is high functioning and the view to the river is beautiful. It’s a long windy drive up and down to the house but it’s worth it. Everything about the River house makes you slow down and enjoy this beautiful part of California.
The perfect getaway spot including a Jacuzzi. Spent a weekend here with my girlfriends and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. The drive up is very twisty and a bit far but the views were stunning. Sleep with the window open and listen to the river, it’s so peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommend this Cabin.

The property is located alongside the river, so the entire time there is this lovely, gentle sound from the stream. It's extremely clean, and the appliances are terrific. Since it's tucked away from the main town, it's easiest to dine in, and the place is well equipped for everything you need to do so!
I booked this cabin for a birthday surprise for my boyfriend. It was so comfortable and secluded so we had plenty of privacy. The cabin had everything we needed and the fireplace heated the place up immediately. We brought our dog and he loved it too. You can hear the river which only added to the wonderful ambience. We’ll definitely be back!
This is a beautiful house high in the mountains 24 minutes from Carmel Valley. The beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are clean, large and up to date. The kitchen has everything that you need. The huge porch is overlooking the Carmel river so you can hear the water as it travels past the house. The hot tub is an added bonus. We did not want to leave the moment we arrived. Thank you, Daniel.
We loved the peaceful out of the way location with the sounds of a near rushing river. The interior is new, fresh and clean with very comfortable beds and modern kitchen appliances. We explored the village, played games and read in front of a cozy fire. It was the perfect end to the year.
The River House is as advertised, well appointed, clean, comfortable beds, peaceful with a hot tube and the sound of a river which you can walk down too. It was much further away in terms of time than I expected. Although not too far in terms of distance, the road to the house is VERY twisty, and since we were in a rental car, took it slowly, easily taking an hour or more to and from Monterey. That was a big chunk of the day.

If you are looking for a secluded getaway..this is it. Its about a 50min drive from the coast so dont expect to go back and forth to monterey or carmel by the sea. Grab your groceries and books and spend your time enjoying the quiet. The sound of the river is all you'll hear, maybe a car every now and then. And the best part, a little swimming hole with a rope swing to cool off during the day. Had a lovely stay here.
We stayed twice, coming and going during a road trip that extended as far north as Mendocino. This was a fantastic house, situated along a soothing river/stream. As peaceful as could be. Our weather was idyllic. The house is spacious and roomy. Our host was helpful and friendly. Access to Carmel Valley Village requires some driving along a narrow and twisting road, but we navigated it with no problem. Thanks for a lovely stay!
This is really a great spot. Home is great and location is amazing. Cannot wait to come back in the summer.
Only thing that wasn’t perfect: there isn’t a door between the master bed and bath. Maybe a heavy curtain or something across?
But honestly, we would move here if we could afford it!
Oh and for those with neck/back issues, I always try to give bed ratings as I’ve had multiple back surgeries. Master bed is great! No hesitation to stay longer.
And the town is cool as well. Had a great meal at Trinity Cafe. Martin is super nice and food was good.
