The Bali House is Magical
We were a group of 7 women (45-50ish) that stayed here for a "girls getaway". We admittedly never left the house - it is beautiful. Every little nook and cranny has been adorned with something fun / artistic / beautiful. The beds were very comfortable. There are so many fun places to sit as a group and connect. We used uber eats for meals and just relaxed. We also took advantage of a yoga class and tarot card reading. Truly a perfect weekend! Thank you Sharon for sharing your magical home!!! We are looking forward to coming back when the pool is warmer ;o)
This house was well located for convenience to the Austin Convention Ctr. Perfect girlfriends getaway! Highly recommend this property
Loved my stay and Sharon was so awesome!
Just an overall great vibe
A Bali Paradise in Austin
I hosted a women’s retreat for ~20 people at this property and it was nothing short of magical. All of the attendees were RAVING about how amazing it was. I especially appreciate how many different areas there were in the house so that we could switch up the experience. Sharon was extremely helpful and communicative. I would definitely host another retreat here!
Can't get much better than this
Everything was wonderful about the property, and the host, Sharon, was delightful. We found the "loft" experience quite cozy and easy for all of us to gather and be as one.
The location is awesome too! ...Close enough to many entertainment options, yet just enough on the fringe to have some privacy to feel like you're in the woods.
The weather was great, even in December! But we still decided to use the new fire pit at night, and the custom lighting inside the tall-roofed screened-in porch was a unique experience. We stayed up for hours telling stories.
We were able to find everything we needed, and didn't have any trouble with the electronics (TV, Internet, Sound), even though we didn't use it much.
We will definitely return one day, and I highly recommend it to others, but it appears to book-up quickly so I guess we'll have to stay on top of it ;)
Not only is Austin the live music capital of the world, but its also known for its many outdoorsy entertainment options. Only two blocks away from the Loft House is a trail head to the Sunset Valley nature trail, which offers several miles of scenic hiking. The Violet Crown hiking trailhead, which connects to Barton Creek in the center of Austin, is only one mile away. Better yet, one of my favorite weekend morning activities is to pack a picnic, drive to Taco Deli (1500 Spyglass Drive - a ten minute drive), eat one of their awesome breakfast tacos then cross the street to the Barton Creek Greenbelt Trailhead. Walking toward Barton Springs (east), you’ll pass several beautiful swimming holes where you can set up your picnic and cool off in the creek. You can also rent paddle boards and kayaks right in the middle of town on Town Lake. There are so many outdoor options here, just let me know your interests and I’ll send you more complete information.
About Sharon Drinkwine
I'm an artist, designer, foodie, film buff and collector of Outsider Art. (I'm an antique show, junk shop and eBay addict!). I designed my house to revolve around the kitchen and the art studio, the two places where I'm most happy. Well, make that three places, I'm happy swimming in my pool too. And oh yeah, I'm happy hanging out with friends on my porch, eating fresh food we just dragged home from the Sunset Valley Farmers Market (only two blocks away). And I'm happy taking walks around my neighborhood visiting the horses and hiking on the nearby nature trails. If you’re wondering why I’m so darned happy its because I was born and raised in upstate New York, where the winters are long and cold. Now that I live in Austin, where the weather is warm, the people are friendly and the culture is lively, I'm in heaven!
