About this property
Charming chalet, Haut-Jura
We would love to welcome you to our cozy individual chalet in a lovely mountain setting. Situated in the Jura mountains at the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut Jura about 900 meters above sea level on a large estate of individual chalets in the village of St. Laurent en Grandvaux, this cozy chalet comfortably houses a maximum of 6 adults. It has a warm southern exposure, and enticing views of the lovely pine forests that surround it and two outdoor spaces (balcony and terrace) for outdoor eating and relaxing. You will enjoy a lovely, active, and relaxing mountain stay.
Within walking distance, you can find the local cheese maker (the fruitière) and the JOA Casino where there is dining and dancing and games of chance (slot machines, electronic black jack, electronic roulette, black jack tables and roulette tables). Across the road from the fruitière is a boulangerie for your morning baguettes should you finally leave the comfort of the chalet. In winter there are both cross-country and snowshoeing just 300m from the chalet. Downhill skiing at Les Rousses is just about 20 minutes away. Ski/snowshoe rentals are available at all of these sites.
On the estate itself there is a heated indoor swimming pool (closed from October 1st to April 1st), there is a tennis court, a badminton court, a ‘terrain’ for pétanque and a large field that is perfect for soccer or frisbee. Venturing further afield, there are trails for horseback riding, biking and hiking year round, many magnificent lakes and streams for swimming, boating, paddle boarding and fishing in the summer months.
The fall foliage is famous as Saint-Laurent-en-Grandvaux is often referred to as "le petit Canada". The center of the village of St. Laurent is definitely worth a visit; the people here are very friendly. Be sure to stop by the Tourist Office of the Haut Jura for helpful advice concerning all the activities in the area and events like concerts and markets that might be happening during your stay.
Closeby, there are wonderful places to visit like the Abbaye de Grandvaux built alongside the lac de l’abbaye with a trail to hike around it. Within driving distance is the beautiful village of Arbois where the famous Jura wines are produced. La cascade du Hérisson, le pic de l'aigle, and les Gorges de la Langouette are gorgeous natural sites that you should not miss.
The chalet was built in 2007 and is ideal for 6 people. It is composed of:
- An open-concept kitchen (well-equipped for cooking)/ dining room (seats 6 comfortably)/ living room (with a couch bed) area with an HD TV with access to Netflix and Amazon Prime Video
- Kitchen with refrigerator, 3-burner electric cooktop, oven.
- A bedroom with a double-bed 140x190
- A mezzanine with 2 double beds 140x190.
- a bathroom with shower and WC.
- A ski room.
- a balcony and a terrace with outdoor dining furniture
Important: Linens (beds, bath, toilet, kitchen ...) are not provided.
Cleaning at the end of your stay is to be done by your care. There with be an 80 € fee at checkout if the housework is not done well.
Water and electricity are included. Heated chalet.
No pets allowed.
