In an effort to comply with the new social distancing mores of our times, we have decided to LIMIT OUR RENTALS to leave @ least 3-4 days between bookings.

You'll think you've left Texas and found paradise when you arrive at this lush location right on the lake. This beautiful log home is in a secluded area with no neighbors across the street, just more trees! As you enter the 1.5 gated acres, you'll be amazed by the 130 oak trees that reach upwards of 60' in the air. Enjoy the breezes off the lake while rocking or swinging on the 46' porch, or take a walk down to the waterfront gazebo swing or covered dock.

Even though you'll be only 30 minutes from Fort Worth and 60 minutes from Dallas, you will feel transported to the enchanted forest on the lake

The cabin is amazing. Buddy is a great host and very helpful. We enjoyed feeding the ducks and fishing off the deck. Lots of swings to choose from to enjoy the view of the lake!

Perfect weekend get away

This is the perfect place for a weekend get away. Right on the water and quiet but close enough to town if you need something. Katy and Buddy are always welcoming and make sure everything is in order for your stay

Nice spacious cabin with great fishing

This cabin is very roomy, with plenty of sleeping spots. Beautiful inside, and relaxing outside. All you need is food and fishing equipment and you're set. It even has a washer and dryer. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again. Thank you.

Very comfortable - great for vacation!

Our family (including two teenagers) had a great stay at the cabin. There was plenty of room for us to relax and have a little fun. Don't worry about forgetting anything - the cabin has everything set up and ready to go. There are plenty of notes everywhere to let you know what to do... I'd definitely recommend this property to those looking to escape the hotel on their next vacation.

Special Place to Relax and Enjoy

Buddy and Katy are wonderful hosts and very welcoming. The cabin is immaculate and has everything we need along with plenty of extras. It is such a beautiful and peaceful setting that it’s hard to believe it is so close to the busy life at DFW. We brought my parents here this time as well as my in-laws another time and they all love it as much as we do. It is such a special place and the fishing is definitely a bonus. Many thanks!!

Relaxing retreat

This is a gem of a getaway cabin. We will be coming back here. Lovely little beach, great dock, everywhere there are swings and rocking chairs, and the beds are comfy. We needed a relaxing getaway from. Our family histle and this place and its proprieters were just the ticket. Fun little surprises all throughout the property. Easy communication with Katy. Having shades on all the windows is a huge bonus!

KIWI VISITORS LOVE THIS PLACE

My husband and I from NZ joined our family from McKinney and had a truly lovely relaxing time at the cabin. The hosts are most hospitable and go the extra mile with games for all and a paddling pool the kids could spend all day in. It was fun fishing off the jetty. We had no need to leave the property in our 3 nights there. The cabin was well equipped and clean. We enjoyed the shade from tree, verandah and on the jetty. Les has to make us the "washer" game now he is back home.

Absolutely amazing

The photos do not lie - this place is just as gorgeous as it looks. Such a peaceful, beautiful retreat and the sunrises were second to none. The cabin provided the venue for our honeymoon and we couldn't imagine a lovelier place to have spent it. The cabin itself is charming and was spotlessly clean and fully stocked. Our hosts are the kindest most facilitating people you could hope to meet and we are blessed to have met them. They only added to the overall brilliance of the experience. We would recommend this hidden getaway to anyone who is looking for a break from the real world. Loved it, thank you.

Cozy spot on the lake!

Spent a very rainy NYE here. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer vista considering the dreary weather! Although we were not able to enjoy the outddor fire pit, we were delighted to make use of the indoor wood stove. Fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, great hosts. No wifi but AT&T cell service worked just fine. And we really enjoyed watching the many neighbors shoot off fireworks instead of fighting crowds at the bars. A truly memorable way to send off 2020. Thank you to our lovely hosts!

Disappointed At the End....

Our initial experience started out okay ; the property was mostly as described. We would have probably been back - except for a disagreement on some pre-existing window damage. Although we left the property as we found it - our deposit was retained because we were faulted for pre-existing damage.

YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME

YEP THAT'S RIGHT--YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME. My wife and I own property on a large Texas lake but after staying with Katy and Buddy one time at this beautiful Log Home on Eagle Mountain Lake we immediately put our property on the market and are planning to come here when we are headin out to the lake. Everything in the previous reviews is 100% accurate so there is no reason for me to waste your time here-read them and believe those reviews. Had we found this place years ago, we would never have purchased waterfront property. This is just tooooooo easy and wonderful to bother with owning a place of our own. Everything has been thought through by these wonderful owners and everything is in place and perfect and spotless. Shopping for groceries or anything for that matter is very easy as this lake is nestled in the middle of every amenity (restaurants, shopping, boat ramps, marina, etc., etc....) but yet you do not feel like you are "in the city". Fort Worth, the Stockyards, etc., are close also. Not only would I recommend this property to a friend we are going to plan family trips here instead of places like the Lake of the Ozarks where we often vacation. This home on Eagle Mountain lake is as nice as any stay we have had at Lake of the Ozarks. If you are considering this property along with others, stay here first and save yourself the trouble of scouting around. Once you stay here there is absolutely no reason to look any further. I almost hate to write a review because the more people who find out about this diamond the more difficult it may be for my family to get a booking here. Our 8-10 year olds loved it, out 30+ children with spouse loved it and we loved it also. The photos are exactly accurate and do not at all over represent the property. It looks like the photos were taken the morning we stayed because they were an exact representation. This is just too easy.

Why they chose this property

We purchased the home next door in 2002 and couldn't resist the opportunity to buy this property. We originally bought our first property with the thought of moving out full time after retirement. After three years of spending more time here than in town, we retired early and moved out to the lake. It's like living in vacation mode year round.

What makes this property unique

Whether it's waking to the sweet sounds of the birds calling, the beauty of the sunrise, or the solitude of the woods, there is always something to appreciate about life on the lake.
