First, the positives: the apartment is clean, attractive, and well-equipped (including the teeny kitchen, which despite its size contained enough equipment to prepare a simple meal). The location is convenient to several subway lines and there are some great cafes and restaurants in the area. We enjoyed being in Harlem for its special vibe, and we felt safe and comfortable moving around the neighborhood. Remote check-in was straightforward and problem-free.Now the negatives: this is not a true 2-bedroom, but rather a 1-bedroom with a walk-through area with a bed. This room the only way to get between the bedroom proper and the living area (including the bathroom). This might work for a family traveling with small kids, but it's far from ideal if guests need privacy or are light sleepers. Also, there's also no air conditioning in this middle room, since there are no windows, and it got very hot and stuffy in summer, even with a fan. What bothered us more than the layout itself, though, was the fact that the listing made no mention of the fact that the second bedroom was a walk-through. In other words, the listing was deceptive by omission.
the property was exactly as described. perfect for 2 people.my only complaints apply to me(74 yrs old) and my niece(46 yrs old). Would have liked more storage for clothes and bathroom accessories. The kitchen was equipped with all the basics but instructions on how to use the oven item and stovetop would have been nice as neither of us were familiar with the items. I had asked in advance about the tv but would have liked some more info on streaming or smart tv, I wanted local national channels as well and could'nt find them. Don't know if the upstairs unit or units are rented out also or are private but whoever was upstairs was noisy as hell all through the night....
