About this property

Historic Mountain Retreat: Breathtaking views, pet friendly, trampoline/playroom

This breathtaking historic home is the perfect retreat in Cumberland, MD. This home provides an absolutely incredible view of historic Cumberland and the mountains throughout the house. This historic American four square has all original details and finishes beautifully preserved. The home features a fenced in yard with a trampoline and grill, expansive front and back porches, working gas fireplace in the living room, 4 bedrooms, office, playroom, 1.5 baths, dining room and a stocked and updated kitchen. Pets are welcome with no extra fee. Peaceful neighborhood perched on top of the mountain, yet extremely convenient to everything. Less than a 5 minute drive to downtown Cumberland, grocery stores, the hospital and parks. 12 minutes to Rocky Gap State Park Lake and Casino Resort. This neighborhood was a one of the first "modern" neighborhood developments in the USA, in the early 1900s, and this home was the model for the neighborhood. It was the first home built in the neighborhood and featured every possible upgrade to show those purchasing home and land deals all of the options available. Some of the upgrades this home features that are still perfectly intact include, glass pocket doors, full Edwardian staircase, leaded windows that shine rainbows throughout the house, oak flooring and trim throughout the entire house (not just the first floor), oversized front porch, built in window seats etc. The whole neighborhood has lovely mountain and city views, and this house, especially from the 3rd floor playroom/ sitting room has one of the absolute best views in the area.

Excellent host

We had a great stay, it ended up being at a different property than we booked but it was still an enjoyable stay. Communication was excellent and I would recommend. Thank you
