PROS!

~ An overwhelming amount of tourists and locals agree that Manila, which forms part of the El Poblado tourist district, is the absolute best neighborhood in Medellín. Our apartment's convenient location in the center of Manila is unparalleled — check out the reviews from our past guests. Manila has wonderful restaurants, small bars, cafes, gyms, barbershops, empanada stands and supermarkets. Our building is very close to both the Parque Lleras/Provenza 'Zona Rosa' nightlife district and the Poblado Metro station. It's very safe, and the awesome Telemedellín outdoor playground is only 5 minutes away on foot, so great for families with children. We are huge fans of this barrio. So regardless of whether you choose our condo or a different space, be sure to stay in Manila! By staying in Manila you will get the absolute most out of your time in Medellín.
~ Lightning fast internet! We have a 300Mb plan with Movistar, Colombia's most reliable internet provider. Such is the speed of the connection, it's possible for several people to run video calls simultaneously without issue. Complete your online work efficiently without lag or connection issues.

~ Secure building. You need an electronic chip to access the main entrance, and our apartment door has an electronic lock. We've never experienced any break-ins or theft. Feel comfortable exploring the city knowing your personal belongings are in a safe and secure place.
~ EAFIT, the most popular Spanish language school in Medellín, is only a 7 minute Uber ride away. Other popular Spanish language schools such as Ola and Blink are also close. Very conveniently located home base for foreigners looking to learn Spanish.
~ Our wonderful Property Manager lives close by and is contactable day and night in case of emergencies. Feel secure knowing trusted help is close by in case you need it.
~ Manila is lively and happening, but at night there's far less noise compared to the more party-orientated sections Poblado, such as Provenza and Parque Lleras. Enjoy tranquil evenings relaxing at home after long days exploring the city.
~ Condo is owned and was recently renovated by a family with a young child, and we are passionate about providing our guests the best possible experience. Unlike faceless property management groups that only see you as a means to fill their calendar, we'll go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful time in Medellín.

CONS!

~ Even though Manila is far less busy at night than other parts of Poblado, it's still a very lively neighborhood. There are many new construction projects and plenty of traffic during peak hour, so expect some street noise to travel into the apartment. If you're someone who requires silence during the day, a more relaxed barrio outside of Poblado such as Envigado or Sabaneta may be a better choice.
~ As mentioned in the pros, the king bed in the master bedroom is extremely comfortable. The other two beds are a single and a sofa bed, which are fine for children, but won't offer the best night sleep for most adults. So considering the sleeping options, this apartment is best suited for solo travelers, couples, or families with children under the age of 10.
~ There is A/C plus a fan in the master bedroom, but the other bedroom only has a fan, and there is no A/C in the main space of the apartment. At night the temperature cools considerably, and most guests typically only use the fan while sleeping. However, if guests who will be sleeping in the spare bedroom and study run hot and need A/C at night, you may be better off with a different apartment.
~ This apartment is a real home that was lived in for years by a family, and now it's a short term rental. We always replace essential items the moment they break, but expect to see small signs of wear and tear.
~ We are on the second floor of a private 4-storey building. Meaning you need to climb one flight of stairs to access the apartment, which may be prohibitive for certain guests with mobility concerns.
~ Our building has no resident parking spaces. However, if you have a vehicle, there is a secure and affordable parking lot with overnight parking right next to our building.
~ Our building has a mix of long-term residents and short-term guests. Due to the nature of short-term renting in a tourist-friendly area such as Manila, there are always new people coming and going into the building. If you would prefer to have the same neighbors for the duration of your stay, you would be better off looking for a building that only approves long-term residents.

The apartment is located on the second floor of a private 4-storey building in Manila, a highly walkable and safe part of El Poblado. The street is filled with many families who have lived in the area for years. In Manila, there is far less noise pollution compared to other parts of El Poblado, yet you are still in close proximity to all the Parque Lleras and Provenza nightlife.

Amenities on our doorstep:

~ Countless cafes and restaurants, less than 1 minute away on foot.
~ Supermarkets (Exito and D1), both less than 5 minutes away on foot. You can also use the Rappi app to get groceries delivered to your doorstep.
~ Gyms. Athletic — 1 minute walk. SmartFit — 4 minute walk.
~ Poblado Metro Station, 10 minute walk or 3 minute Uber.
~ Parque Lleras and Provenza — the epicenter of Poblado's nightlife — 5 minute Uber ride.
~ EAFIT — most popular Spanish language school for foreigners — 7 minute Uber ride. Other popular language schools such as Ola and Blink are also close by.
~ Telemedellín park — awesome outdoor playground for kids, 5 minute walk.

The apartment has an open plan and is beautifully decorated. Upon entering the apartment you'll find yourself in the living room complete with stylish L-shaped couch, Smart TV with Netflix, and a sliding door window that allows a ton of natural light and fresh air to enter the space. You'll see the second bathroom on the left which has a toilet and shower.

The kitchen is intelligently designed, beautifully finished, and comes complete with all the standard utensils and appliances, great for those who love cooking. Our tap water is delicious and perfectly safe to drink and use for cooking. The custom made dining table is situated under the skylight — an amazing spot to enjoy a home cooked meal. The European laundry (stacked washer and dryer stored in a cupboard) has been ergonomically designed, ensuring the main living area is optimized for open space.

The office has a custom desk with two designated work stations, and a chill-out couch that folds out to become a sofa bed.

The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, AC, inbuilt cupboards, a wall-mounted fan, ensuite bathroom and black-out curtains — an amazing place to recuperate after a long day!

The second bedroom has inbuilt cupboards, a wall-mounted fan and a single bed.

The apartment can sleep a maximum of four people; two in the master bedroom's king-sized bed, one in the second bedroom's single bed, and another on the chill-out couch in the office which folds out to become a sofa bed. Bear in mind, the single and sofa bed are fine for children under the age of 10, but won't offer the best night sleep for most adults.

Our full-time Property Manager lives nearby. She is on standby to help if you encounter any issues. We can also provide recommendations about a variety of things (e.g. tourist activities, good restaurants, personal chefs/trainers, Spanish language teachers etc). For long-term guests, we can also recommend cleaners who know the apartment well and always do a fantastic job for an affordable fee.
