Escape to the tranquility of nature in our spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom cabin nestled right on the banks of picturesque Pine Creek. Black Bear Lodge offers a cozy yet expansive haven for up to 10 guests, making it the ideal setting for the whole family. Guests have direct access to Pine Creek. The cabin also has a hot tub with a perfect view of the Creek. Black Bear Lodge is strategically situated- 15 miles to the PA Grand Canyon, 2 miles to downtown Galeton, and 20 miles to Wellsboro.

Just wanted to add here that the INDOOR FIREPLACE is NOT AVAILABLE for guests to use during their stay (This is due to safety concerns AND our insurance company not allowing our guests to use it).

Guest did not follow house rules or checkout instructions. While dishes were washed, many were left out on the counter and in the dish drainer instead of being put away. Garbage cans were not emptied. Four of the five beds were used, but only one was stripped. A towel was left outside by the hot tub, and the heat was not turned back down at checkout. Additionally, the home was left in a condition requiring a heavy clean. Furniture and items were moved throughout the house, and there were noticeable handprints, footprints, and dirt left on multiple surfaces and areas. Doors were locked upon departure, but overall checkout instructions were largely not followed. Due to the condition the home was left in and the additional cleaning required, we would not host this guest again.

My husband and I and our adult children and grandchildren traveled to Galeton to attend the Wellsboro Dickens of a Christmas for the first time. We booked this cabin for our weekend stay. I can't express how much we enjoyed our stay at this absolutely beautiful cabin. The cabin is so welcomingly cozy, so spotlessly clean and well maintained with all the comforts of home. We ate dinner at the Perma Stone Inn, which is right near the cabin - excellent food, huge portions and friendly staff. We hope to return to this gorgeous area again someday and would definitely love to stay at this cabin once again! :)

I can’t recommend Black Bear Lodge highly enough. It’s a true gem—clean, cozy, spacious, secluded, beautiful views, and a short drive from the PA Grand Canyon. We loved getting to sip coffee on the back patio in the morning while listening to the birds and creek, go explore nature in the nearby parks during the day, and return “home” to relax in the hot tub in the evening. Photos often oversell a property, but the pics of the lodge truly don’t do it justice. Just perfect for a mountain getaway. Thanks for sharing this lovely place with us!

It felt like home. Very clean and gorgeous property, especially in the fall!! It was so quiet and relaxing with the hot tub and perfect for our anniversary vacation with our small pups. We got married 1/2 mile from this property. It is close to Wellsboro (our favorite town), the pine creek rail trail, covered wagon rides, Leonard Harrison, Cherry Spring State Park. You can star gaze in the backyard, play in the creek or the huge backyard, relax on the deck or in the hot tub. I highly recommend this property, we will be back!
